3DS Bin extraction

$

Hi there, I have this .bin file extracted from Pokémon ORAS, with the desire to eventually be able to animate with it in the Valve Source engine using Source Filmmaker.

I am however having a great deal of difficulty converting this bin, and cannot figure out for the life of me the enconding of the thing.

Any help??

Thanks very much!

Phone Model Ripping Help

$

I am looking for some information about ripping models from phones mainly an Android phone.
There is a game i found recently which i love, Flyff All Stars. I have played Flyff for many years on my pc and have also messed around with some of its games models (rigging, editing and animation)
And still have been looking for Flyff (Fly For Fun) models for easy access, These are all well packed in this game so i figured the models would be of easy use.
Would it be just as easy to rip these models from a phone device (being that the files are more easily accessible) and can they be converted with ease or simple programs?
I would really love to get back into 3D Animating and these Flyff models would be great!
Any information would be helpful.

Enchlore's introduction thread

Hello. I'm Enchlore. I do sprites, card tricks, listen to 70s and 80s songs, read comics and... maybe video games, you know...

So yeah, I've been basically one whole hour trying to write an appropriate introduction, so I'll just say I'm here to get feedback on my art work and maybe try to stick around and do fun things.

This machine produces sprites.

I've been working on some sprites for a game, but recently I decided to just start all over because I wasn't 100% happy with the results seeing as I was just blindly making things and proportion problems between sprites started showing up. So here's Paper Mario:

He's based on the Thousand-Year Door look, even with the same palette being used. My main concern is the outline: I used to have a thick outline in every sprite to emulate the Paper Mario look, but now I'm not sure if I should keep it. What do you think?

Here are the previous sprites I decided to scrap:

MAME Tile viewer misses pixels ?

Hi,

I need a perfect rip of both layers of Stage 1 of Capcom's Ghouls'n Ghosts.

I tried to get it with MAME. I used the following:

start game, then F4, then 2 x RET to go to the tile viewer, choosing the layer I need, and make a screenshot : I get the first 1024 pixels of the stage.

Then play the game a little to get some pixels further in the stage (but in such a way that some pixels overlap the first screenshot, to allow precise gluing), make another screenshot, etc.

Then I use paint.net to glue the screenshots together (XOR mode between layers so a black rectangle appears when I get a perfect match for the overlapping pixels).

The problem is I can't have a perfect match : if the first 96 pixels are perfectly matched, the 100 next are 1 pixel off. It looks like MAME tile viewer forget (or add) a column of pixels every 96 pixels.

What can be the cause of this problem ? Me ? My MAME configuration ? A known problem by MAME ?
Is there another technique I could use to get a pixel-perfect rip ?

I'd like to introduce myself I go by the name MrCJBubba in various circles o the internet and I enjoy Listening to classic rock and playing video games. I am currently studying to become a game designer and I am currently fiddling around with MUGEN and I have no experience with ripping sprites and I hope to learn how and create several well balanced characters eventually leading up to my own custom fighter.

I have been trying to use AnimGet to rip sprites for a MUGEN character I am trying to create of the character Lunar from Mischief Makers for the Nintendo 64 and it is not capturing all of my Project 64 window resulting in the program halting to a standstill as it is not capturing any of my pictures because it only sees one part of the screen. How do I fix this and is there a more efficient way of doing this? Please Help me. Cry

Well I've fiddled around with the Hyrule Warriors models, but, some errors occur. The one I'm trying to convert most, is Wizzro, and certain parts are missing from the import. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Random Heroes Series Project

Random Heroes may be the most underrated game series of our day and age. It's a series of genuinely fun iOS shooters with a variety of characters and a great sense of humor. And so I decided to begin a ripping project for the series. Since the sprites are already in transparent sheets within the game .ipa, it will be fairly easy ripping them. All I really need to do is attach them to a "go-away" color background.  Here is the Princess character from 2 in raw form:

K, so I made my first completely custom sprite sheet. It's Wittgenstein from the Brave Little Toaster movies. I was originally going for M&L: Dream Team style but soon realized that was not currently possible for someone at my skill level. What do you think?

I submitted it on TSR, but it hasn't been approved yet.

I figured that I should probably go ahead and make my own topic to have a bit of structure and context behind a bunch of the character art stuffs I post on occasion.

What is "G33X" and how do I pronounce it?

G33X (pronounced as "Geeks") is a cartoon that I've been developing with a group of highschool friends for the past 5-6 years. It centers around the adventures of four college-age roommates that live in a video-gamey world that wind up in all sorts of jams and adventures. I've had it described as "like Ed, Edd, n' Eddy meets Scott Pilgrim" as a way to simplify it.

G33X takes place mostly in the suburbs nearby the city of "Bit-tropolis"

Who are the main characters?
These guys:

Chase, Connor, Michael, and Shep are the main four.

Chase(Green) is the group's self-proclaimed "leader" and Player 1. He's brimming with over-confidence and won't back down from a fight.

Connor(Yellow) is the "Luigi" of the group: timid and cautious, he tries to keep an even head but often overdoes it and comes off as paranoid or cowardly.

Michael (Red) The Muscle. Michael is built like a brick wall and pays about as much attention as one; he's very easy going and innocent, but he knows how to throw his weight, and fists, around when he needs to.

Shep (Gray) an inventor and eccentric; Shep is always tinkering with an assortment of gizmos and gadgets on the side. He's gotten so caught up in his work though, he seems to believe that he's a machine himself!

But wait! you've posted more of other characters than these schmucks, what about those guys?
You're right! I'll put something about them here when I finish updated promo pics for them.

Hey guys. I've been messing around with my crappy old Samsung Galaxy Vibrant (android 2.1) so I could install skype and chat with you all but unfortunately skype doesnt support this phone model. So I started an IRC channel, so that the members of this site could chat with eachother without having to use other apps. I know full well that all the previous ones died after sometime and the mods/admins tried their best to keep it alive and well, but I just made this to test out my IRC skills and... well... chat. The desire for me to talk to you guys as real people outside the forums is what started this. If anyone wants to chat this is the place to be. I would appreciate it very much if all of you use it. I'll be monitoring the channel and will do my best to keep things cool. Wink

Here's the address:

I hope to see all of you there. Smile

P.S.: I put this in GD because I dont really think putting it in News or Site Disscussion was necessary but anyone can move it if you think it should go there.

A wild Vulpix appeared! (Introduction Thread)

Hey'a everyone!

I'm Foxie, a huge Vulpix and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon fan. I have too many interests and hobbies I do in my free time, such as: a bit of C# and JS coding, database managing, drawing, graphic designing, 3D modelling, rigging and animating.

VGR always attracted my attention for a long while, especially the Pokémon XY/ORAS Model Ripping Project here, yet I never actually joined the forums till today.

I have no experience myself in ripping 3D models, however I have done some 2D sprite ripping work for a PMD fan-made game I used to work for before.

Though I'm too bad at introductions, so this will have to do for now...

Thanks for reading, and keep it up everyone~ Cute

Hey.
I go by many user names online but i'm just gonna stick with OS-PRIME here.
I am interested in general ripping (specifically model) and game developing even though i have no experience or confidence in it.
That's it really.

Ok, I hear you can use a hex editor for it but I'm somewhat new to this and I'm hoping that someone could help me to use a hex editor to extract the textures/models/music ETC. The game I managed to extract from is "Prince of Tennis: Form The Strongest Team" if you're wondering what kind of game it is from.

Is there a way to import .mlt and .obj to Sketchup without the use of mods?
