N64 Texture issue

I've been ripping models from Perfect Dark using Lem's 3D VRML exporter, The models work fine, but there's an issue involving some of the textures.

The K7 Avenger uses a double-texture layered format to use the shine effect some N64 games use, and also has a transparent texture on-top to allow both a shiny and textured model.

Some graphics cards don't support layered polygons that well, so both of the textures blend in like a mess.

I later on thought of editing up the textures so that they merge the transparent and main textures into one final texture of how it is rendered in game. And removing the layering of textures.

But, I feel like this does not make it a legit model rip, since I edited the model up, or would this work and be allowed?

Ok, so while this is a forum and it will always remain our primary form of communication I'd quite like to give a big skype chat group a chance. I understand this might not be to everyone's taste - getting contact notifications on discussions you aren't involved in, etc.

So, a heads up: You can set skype to not give you notifications on certain discussions. If you simply type the following into a chat box, it'll make certain things happen:

/alertsoff - turns out norifications.
/alertson Dazz - tells you whenever somebody says the word "Dazz" in the chat. Obviously this can be changed to something else!
/golive - start a voice chat. If the group has over 24 members, the call button is disabled. Typing /golive allows voice chat to be used, but be aware that if there are too many people this will probably be one hell of a noisy thing to jump into.

Is it alright to upload a few models as one .zip if they use the same texture file(s) to avoid redundancy? The .zip would still be under a megabyte, so it wouldn't be an issue for people with slow internet.

I'm trying to figure out a way to extract animation files ( hopefully bvh files ) from fighting games such as Tekken ( it could be even the old ones 3,4..) or sleeping dogs or any other.

would you share some tips to where start.

any tips are welcome, it is ok to be very technical

Pokemon Mystery Universe

A few months ago, i stumbled upon the github repo for the client of Pokemon Mystery Universe

I have since earlier today, dumped all the tiles.
But, there's many

I think ultimately, I'll try to rip the entire game worth of graphics but there's a LOT of stuff to sort through.
(and assuming the other assets are in same format as the tiles)

The first step of this is removing a bunch of redundant, blank tiles...

I need help for everything following this
The tiles are not sheeted, and since the dumps were batch-exported, I have no information to help identify/sort them.

I can only expect the other sprites will follow a similar trend.


The tiles folder contains 11 files of .tile extension, and dumped, this produces 11 folders, with THOUSANDS of png image files. Total size is about 32 megabytes

Needless to say, my work is cut-out for me.

So, someone PLEASE help!

Model file types questions

So I finally got my emulator running with some games on it that I ripped and extracted files off it.And now I'm ready to do some model ripping.But I've run into a issue. I have no idea how to move these files into any other format to use. Because the files I got hav a wierd file type I never seen before. For example:

Godzilla destroy all monsters melee uses a file type labeled .cmg .

Sonic Heroes uses a file type labeled .one .

So what I'm really trying to figure out is:

1.What are all the types of files types that game models use?

2.What they each mean?

3.How do I turn them into a .dae or .obj file?

If anyone can answer these questions, I'd really appreciate it.

spent the day jointing harry. thought id put him to good use somehow.
so what i did the other day was download the DEMOS of both these games. throw em onto a disc. create a autorun.inf file and BOBS YOUR UNCLE!
customized demo.
but was it worth it? xD

I guess I should actually introduce myself since I'll probably be here for awhile.

Hi guys!  My name is Skyla, and I... apparently have had an account since 2009?  I just don't remember actually... making this account, and I have no idea why I named it this instead of my usual either.  Whoops.


Anyway, I'm the Persona nerd dumping Ultimax sprites on tSR.  I've ripped stuff before, but this is the first time I'm publicly sharing anything I've done.  Maybe if this all goes well, I'll go back and toss up anything I've got that isn't already here.

Would anyone be able to try to extract the images from this file? It mostly comprises of portraits, backgrounds, and miscellaneous pictures. The file will unzip into an about 800MB file. I don't think it contains the sprites as the disc itself (which I have) is about 1.96GB but all of the accessible files only amount to 820MB so the sprites may be embedded on the disc.

If it is possible, then that would be a start for the game.

Palette information if it is needed. I had to use a file splitter to get this info as TiledGGD couldn't or wouldn't view the graphics in the right format with the full file.

Depending on how it gets extracted, the palette should always be after the image itself. So the garbled stuff above the pink haired chick is for the previous image above it.

Ripping models from Castlevania Judgment

Hello again,
so I have noticed that Castlevania Judgment does have model rips, but the only model rips are those of Sypha and Trevor (two of the four playable characters of Castlevania 3), and that's clearly not enough.
And since I have that game myself, I thought that I could try to rip more models as well...but I don't know how to do that.
I don't even have the slightest idea of what format that game uses.
So yeah, I would like to know how I could rip models from Castlevania Judgment, complete with texture mapping, proper UV mapping and functional bones.

Usb loader gx won't allow me to rip wii games. Need help

So I recently got usb loader gx so I can emulate my games on dolphin. The gamecube games download fine. But whenever I try to rip a Wii game, it either says there is no data on the disk or it starts downloading but stops in the middle of it. Can someone help me?

How do I extract all sprites from BObjMon.dat,BObjPc.dat,BObjUI.dat?
I can get the models from dmdl but not sprites from every file explorer.
What tool do I use to extract files? and change them into a png format?

Could Somebody Make a Batch Converter for GTX?

Exactly what the title says. Does anybody think they can make this?
It's only because I have about 74 folders with about 1,336 GTX files.
It can be for any alpha-supported image type.
