Most of my misc. programs/games to date are quite small, and do not merit their own thread, so I will post them all together, rather than create 20 threads for a bunch of tiny, almost insignificant programming and hacking projects

A program written in JavaScript that parses MS INI files. I specifically chose JavaScript because it doesn't require compiling, and isn't super-strict. Also, because it is more or less, easily ported to actionscript, and I created this in part for the hell of it, and in part for use in a flash application known as The Crystalien Redux Flash Wrapper.

I messed around with the Kongpanions api on Kongregate

This does a few things:
First, it generates a list of EVERY Kongpanion in existence
Secondly, it has a very basic procedural stats generator.
- A common complaint developers have about these little guys is they have no stats, not even the basics. Kongregate wants devs to use these for their games, but they are missing a vital feature. The stat generator at least helps developers avoid updating their data tables or code every week (the amount of time between each new Kongpanion) , but I cannot say it's even REMOTELY balanced!

I designed this purely for fun, the whole idea really isn't that practical (except maybe on a smart device)
It started out lacking a functional backspace key
I recently fixed this, with some coding advice from a friend.
It also has a lot of fun little bells and whistles to play with!
It's not an exact replica of a keyboard in its core functionality, some of the features of caps lock and shift are not present! (the shift + caps creates lower-case letter thing is the most note-able)

Lastly, the Flash Embedded assets extractor.
I did not write this program, I requested its development, created the heart of the swf filesize function, and researched the to file formats it exports enough to learn how to dump them from <insert arbitrary binary file here>. It actually does not explicitly require .swf files!

Well, the final stretch, I figured we'd want to just get these done soon enough. If someone is able to figure this out we will be able to rip from all 3D Mega Man X games effectively.

For Mega Man X 7, we have some hard-to-decipher files that I'm not sure of the nature of. I assume they contain both textures and models, so I'm including a few of them. They are of the extension '.emi'.

I was hoping I wouldn't need help for this since the PC versions are just re-named ".dds" files. However the PS3 version has a weird method.

I wanted to try and rip the models of Brendan/May/Red/Leaf from Pokemon Colosseum. The problem is that I need to connect Dolphin to VBA-M, which from my experience is 100% impossible.

I've followed various online tutorials now, and not a single one of them worked. What am I doing wrong?

Hi! I've been looking chaning models in Fortune Street, but I've experienced one problem. I used NTCompress to get my models out of the CMPRES format, but how can I change a BRRES to a CMPRES? Thanks in advance!

I want to play some games, but I wanna know if my specs are decent enough to run some games on a laptop.

Here's my specs:

-Windows 8.1

-Intel Pentium duel core 2020M CPU. @2.50GHz

-8 GB RAM

-Intel HD Graphics

1824 MB of graphics memory

128 MB of dedicated video memory

1696 MB of shared system memory

All settings set to the lowest and most optimal 3D settings possible

1366 x 768 screen res

-60 Hertz monitor

Here's some games I want to run:

I'm sorry if a thread like this already exists, but I'm just wondering of such a thing. Also, I feel like this can be a thread for others to ask if they can runs games, so post ahead.

Hi everybody been a long time lurker but been occupado with a bunch of stuff until now and finally decided to register and put some of my works up

Part of my current project...but I have trouble with non realistic shading Tongue

All in all I love the PS2 era reqs for modeling as it allows for a decent challenge working on detail, and it affords a more professional feel if done right compared to the new models where every micron is sculpted... now for UVs I'm not the best when it comes to simplicity as stated above for anime styled works, unless I am working on a 2d image lmao...if anyone feels they could help me out feel free to drop me a pm because I noticed many users excel at it Smile

Hello dere,

VGResource forum newbie deeply interested in art 2D and 3D...doesnt matter which. Ive done paid works and free works (more free works than I can count) for tons of indie devs in their pursuit of making their dreams playable. I am a current beta tester/artist for GGMaker (formerly Engine001) and want to finally persue my own dream of creating a finished title...even if I have to do it by myself.

Not much else to talk about other than I am a single father, and LOVE games of all kinds and hope to pass that love down to my own son as he grows (currently 5 years old)

I would be delighted to meet everyone!

(This isn't my normal bluster on a forum btw...most of my posts usually have tons of spelling mistakes and horrible grammar Tongue)

How to make sense of textures?

I'm very new when it comes to textures/models, etc., so I was wondering if there is a general way to make sense of a texture when looking at it as an image (When not placed on a model)? 

For example, I have an Animal Crossing texture that I'm looking at and while some parts make sense (I can see eyes, eyebrows, etc.), some parts are confusing and don't make sense (If a lot of the texture was the same color, for example) and I find myself coloring parts of the texture random colors and then putting it on the model to see if I can make sense of what parts of the texture are connected to what part of the model but this is time consuming and, well, I'm hoping there's an easier way to figure this out without having a guide to the texture. I hope this made sense and if anyone has any tips or suggestions, that would be very helpful =) Thanks
