Windwaker - Foliage ripping held needed

$

Hey folks,
iam currently try to get some of the windwaker models for some wallpaper production

what i did so far is using dolphin+rarcdump.exe and got almost everything i need, except the foliage stuff. i got the trees, and all the flowers but i cant get the grass and the bush from the first island.

I found out that Kusa is japanese for grass and there is a Kusa.arc file in the Objects flder but everytime i use rarcdump the program crashes.
and for the Bush (http://41.media.tumblr.com/0124467948e94...4_1280.png) i have no clue in which .arc file it could be hidden

so, maybe someone already ripped it successfully and could forward it to me? Smile
thanks!

Converting images to sprites?

Hi, all!

I'm coming to this thread, hoping it's the right place to ask. I have long been interested in the Donkey Kong Country and Sonic 3 & Knuckles (And Sonic 3D Blast for Genesis!) art styles, comprised of converting images of 3D models to produce an animated or static sprite. But, I have found no documentation or anything on the process. As an artist, I would love to be able to learn how to use that style. As a nerd, I would love to know how it was done and the process behind it.

So, how are these 3D model sprites achieved? Is it possible to replicate the effect, whether it could work on a real Genesis or SNES console or not?

If any of you can provide tidbits, info, a process, a program that can handle it.. I would deeply appreciate it! This site is filled with smart people, so that's why I came here first.

Thank you all in advance!

Lego Island ripping

Ok I have just had a harebrained scheme in my head and I'm going to ask since it would help the Resource I thought I'd bring it to the experts.

Anyway I have decided to take up a small hobby of making custom Lego Mini-Figures for myself, friends and my father's band. The first ones I want to try to do are of course the cast of Lego's first Game. One of the first games ever made to require DirectX alongside The Lion King I grew up with it and always wanted a Infomaniac Fig. (Sadly I only got the game after the figure was discontinued)

So I wanted to know if anyone knows of any ripper program that can extract the textures from Lego Island. I plan to rip it myself but you know I'm a spriter and not yet skilled at sprite ripping only makeing my own so any help you guys could offer would be welcome.

Thanks for your time.

Hello VGR community.

I always enjoyed the sprite resources materials for use in some projects and nostalgia sake. However, after trying to rip a background I just found out how interesting this is.
So I’m looking forward to try my best to contribute with sprites and backgrounds and learn more.

Cheers.

Hey all. I've been trying to figure out a way to rip from Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. I know it's possible, but oddly there have been no releases here on TMR. I was hoping someone could do me a favor and rip the Mindlfayer enemies/bosses models from it? I'd like to do it myself if needed but I don't know where to start.

Dungeon Gems Model Ripping [Android Version]

Hello everyone, I'm trying to rip the models from Dungeon Gems for Android.
Why Android? Because I don't have an iOS device, 'nor have upgraded to Windows 8.1 or 10.

(I'm using * as a wildcard, because there are many .pak files starting with meshes_ or textures_)
The files of interest are:
meshes.pak
meshes_*.pak
textures_*.pak

Given the filenames, it's reasonable to assume the likeliness of those being related to the game's models is very high.

One thing I noticed is that some files have the extension of .SWFPAK, and many files reference "flash" or "fla" in their filenames, so I'm wondering if it's possible this game is powered by Adobe Flash in some way.

Would anyone have some further info to help me on my task?

My friend phinx inspired me to do this. Can't say how active this project still is but whatever.
This isn't a rep of me but it's a character from my comic that travels through dimensions so I figured he could fit in.

All I have is his idle so far.

Yes, he's supposed to be small.
I'll wait feedback and second opinions before I do anything else with him.

is it possible for someone to rip models from Lego Jurassic World or Lego Dimensions?

An issue with transparency

So, I managed to extract one of the asset files for Sta Wars The Clone Wars: Path of the Jedi

Just one MAJOR issue...
The game is a shockwave game, which presents some complications.
My first assumptions were embedded flash movies or...3d models
The first I probably could've gotten at.
The second?
probably not...
It turned out to be, well...

I had my friend pop-open the extracted .cst file for Genreal Grievous.
He says there are 600 jpeg-ized bitmap cast members

So even the fact that i'd have to, when my new pc (and the new router) is set-up, manually export 600+ .bmps wouldn't stop me...
My trick to dealing with LOADS of content is do it in sections/batches, perhaps separated in time intervals of days, weeks, months, etc...

However, there's a worse problem...
see:

.png   grievous_attack5_5.png (Size: 26.12 KB / Downloads: 8)

Note the black background?
If zoomed-in somewhat grossly, besides the jpeg artifacting becomes clearly visible, you'll note this also effects what is supposed to be the transparent regions for this sprite...

So, is there ANY way to restore this?
(Ideally without manually re-spriting THOUSANDS of images...and if just grievous' file has 600+ ...imagine the entire game, which has ...a LOT of files!)

The jpeg-ization doesn't bug me...
but the black background simply won't do.
That said, if there's some kind of alpha approximation algorithm/tool that can be run on these, it'd be nice to have it.

Before anyone asks me for the full .cst file, while I could provide it...
A: it is 17 megs (as opposed to the 'original' .cct which is 3 megs)
B: You must acquire Adobe Director to open it... so that's either a ton of money or one must be willing to pirate it
C: Unlike .swf, the Shockwave format to this date remains top-secret, which is a big part of why its code security is considered to be higher than flash. That said, anything to be done on this file either must somehow be done in Director, or the format must be scuessfully reverse-engineered. My friend and I started a little attempt at this, and needless to say, we haven't gotten very far at all. Fact is, DirOpener, which is used on .dcr and .dxr files, only really works because of an exploit. IDK about Recover cct, which is what I used on grievous, here...

That should be everything.
REALLY hope someone can help, even though I don't presently have the capabilities to start ripping this game, given my computer/internet situation... I do at one point hope to do it. But, not much I can do if the graphics are in a proprietary format that simply can't be exported the same way it must have gone in. (the bitmaps apparently have "use alpha" checked, so they do have some form of transparency data, but director, like all adobe utilities, is designed to lock developers (and hackers) out of recovering data from project and compiled files via proprietary formats that either export in a lossful format, or don't export at all.)

Destiny Models

I've done a lot of searching around for a viable way to get these but the only ones I've been able to find lack the UV mapping and textures. (or the correct format and sized ones)
I've taken a look inside of the files for both Destiny and The Taken King but all I've found are the .dat files you get from them.
I'm not looking for much, just a good way to get the textures and models (rigging isn't required but would be nice, if not I can rig them myself)
A nudge in the right direction would also work too. Because Google hasn't been helpful  Ouch!

I've been toying with custom sprites for a while now. Most of it has been Mega Man related.

I'm terrible at talking about my work so let's just see what I got alright?

New-Version .nif?

Okay, so, going through certain game files that use the ".nif" format for models an animation and such...I keep coming across 'new version' files that NifSkope cannot properly display. Some of these are vital to my projects, but all I need are textures and the base models, not the animations or such. I was hoping someone could have a look and see if there's a way to extract the models.
