Genesis Sonic cleanup

0
0
I'm looking at doing some cleanup in the Sonic Genesis sections as we make new icons. They're just a mess right now. Sheets need to be trimmed, rearranged, or just deleted. We have sheets that have a mix of elements from different platforms and games and it's just a real clutter. If someone could help me streamline them, that would be amazing.

Basically, each game should have just the emeralds, explosions, signs, shields, etc. from THAT game.

Chaos Emeralds should, in theory, contain the sprites of all the emeralds. Duh. Instead, this sheet seems to be missing a lot of frames and needs some arrangement. I think these are shared between Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knucles.

Emeralds is just a huge mess. It has sprites of the Chaos Emeralds from several games, the Master Emerald from Sonic 2 and S&K, Sonic Spinball (which is already on a sheet), etc. This sheet really just needs to be ripped apart and placed i nthe right areas, then nuked from orbit.

Another Emeralds sheet is just the frames of animation of the emeralds. ...Why? Is this necessary?

Super Emeralds   has most of the same problems as the Chaos Emeralds sheet.

Explosions has no tags or labels or anything that tells you what they're from. I can't tell by looking. Each game's explosion should be in that game's section; not all explosions in all sections.

Font Packs again, should be split up based on game. There's really no reason to have Sonic 1's font in Sonic & Knuckles. It makes things confusing.

Shields is another sheet that needs to be split up.

Goal Signs also needs to be split up.

Miscellaneous has a lot of, well, miscellaneous stuff on it. A lot of that can be found on other sheets. The monitors are the only thing not on a different sheet. (I think.)

Thanks for any help. I don't know which sprites go where for those that aren't labeled. Anyone with more knowledge of the nuances of Sonic would be GREATLY appreciated.

Textures Help

Clamped texture tutorial

Someone asked me for help regarding what to do about ripping Nintendo 64 models, since they usually have lots of weird texture issues.

I want this to be as helpful as possible, so feedback would be appreciated. Keep in mind, this tutorial assumes you know what UVs are and how to modify them.

I Need a Few Pointers

I've mostly finished my sprite sheets for Willow (NES) - I just need to put in my annotations - but since this is going to be my first upload, I'd just like someone to look at this and tell me if it's okay.  One concern I have is that some of the sheets are on the smaller side, and I'd like to know if my signature is a bit too big and overblown.  Another is whether I should put all of the monsters on one sheet or give each their own; it will be enormous in the former scenario, but there will be very small ones in the latter.  Note that the Slime sheet has not yet been annotated.  Any criticism is welcome; I know that I'm a newb!  Thanks!

Extracted model help with textures

hello everyone... so... i extracted Guru-Guru's angry model from the legend of zelda using the method with the 1964 emulator, but when i open the model on 3dsmax or any other 3d modelling program, i get these messed up textures instead, but when i import it on unity 3d then change the wrap mode from repeat to clamp, everything works fine, but as soon as i export it back to obj, it gets messy again

does anyone know how to fix it? since im going to print it with pepakura designer as papercraft model

Grand Theft Auto III Model Project

Hello. I'm edicu2000(or //XP//) and I've begun to rip models from the PC version of Grand Theft Auto III.

I might rip models from Vice City/San Andreas and possibly the Xbox/Android version of III sooner or later.
This is basically a thread where I'm going to post any GTA3 model I've uploaded, which ones are going to be released and which ones have been requested. You may request up to three models at a time, but you cannot request any more until I've fulfilled your requests.

Hey everyone,

I was recently browsing online and found out about this pirate cart, the 888888-in-1 Coolboy, I found there is an interesting custom game on the cart, "Fruit Pig", I wanted to be able to rip the character sheet of the main character in the game, but I haven't even been able to open it in NEStopia. I was wondering if anyone would have experience with ripping in pirate/bootleg carts. Thanks!

paint.net doesn't like it though

I'm trying to convert

i want to extract the dinosaur models and textures.
but i don't know how
i was told that the model's are stored in .DAB
but i'm not so sure. all i know is that the game has beautiful dinosaur models and a really impressive Indominus rex model that throws the JPOG version i've got out of the water.
you guys are welcome to take a swing at it.
maybe i'll learn something about ripping besides nifscope

Decompress .zlib files from "Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games"?

I found out that most of the models in Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games are compressed in .zlib format (from what I saw when looking into one of the compressed files in an hex editor). I have tried several programs like "zlibc","xpert2" or "offzip" but all of them give me errors. So, does anyone know a way to decompress this type of compression files? Thanks in advance Smile

Conker BFD model rips

By now, you're probably telling me to shut up about the dang game. I just wanna get some rips for it down for reasons.

Conker BFD has some complex model tricks and formats, so you have to do a-lot of stuff to get the models to barely even look proper.

I started with some easier ones, I guess? I'm also trying to T-Pose them all so other's do not have to.

The professor. (Who was the easiest to rip and pose)

An extremely WIP Conker. I need to somehow merge the colours of the fur stands and the orange and cream bases seam-lessly.

The triforce sprite was inspired by a sprite that Neorice did a little while ago.

Lets see if I can keep this thread alive.

I'm gonna be out for at least a week. Harass me if I get on.

I have 13 more math assignments due on the 31st, some of which I don't know how to do yet, and a test on Thursday. I also have a history test on Thursday and writing assignment (which hasn't even been assigned), a meeting with my adviser, a test in gov't on Wednesday along with its assignment, and an English class. If I'm on here, harass me. I might actually be banned if someone can unban me. (I'm gonna ask.)

Epic Mickey 2 dialogue

I need someone to extract the dialogue from epic Mickey 2 the power of two since there's a lot of dialogue that the characters say depending on the choices you make. I'd be greatful if someone did that. Thank you.

Atmospheric, Immersive AND Dynamite Soundtracks.

Or AIDS for short.  Heh.

These are the soundtracks that look beyond trying to get the player to headbang or foot tap, though they get bonus points if they do.  These are the OSTs whose primary focus is to not only set the stage for what's happening around the characters in the game world, but also to invoke all the proper emotions of said scenes onto the player as they play, fully enveloping them into the world.  What examples can you bring to the table?

I'm going to cheat and bring two of the highest tier examples into the fray.

Final Fantasy Tactics (sample)
Needless to say, this game's OST is a masterpiece.  Every single track does their job of fully immersing the player in what's going on, as well as evoking all the proper emotions during their needed times.  If I could wish for anything with this OST, is for some tracks to be used more than the one or two times they're seen throughout the entire game, because they're that good.

Vagrant Story (sample)
By the same composer as Final Fantasy Tactics, the OST here once again does the same perfect job of setting the atmosphere and mood.  My only real complaint here is that there's no music during most of the gameplay, save for boss fights and cutscenes, just like Tomb Raider.  One could argue it makes it more suspenseful this way, but as Final Fantasy Tactics has shown, you can make proper tracks to evoke that feeling if necessary.
