Hello, I'm Sonic361, and I want to introduce myself.
Probably you remember me from the post, where I comunicate I need help for extracting sounds from the game Sonic and the Secret rings, but, anyway.

I'm originally from Mexico (thats why my english can be horrible sometimes), I'm a very big fan of videogames, especially to Nintendo and Sonic games.
My favorite games of Nintendo are Splatoon, Mario and Smash bros, and I like some Sonic games, like Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic and the Secret rings, Sonic generations, but my favorite Sonic game especially are Sonic Adventure DX, and I like to do some modifications to that game, like Sound, texture or music hacking (thats why I need the Sonic and the Secret Rings SFX)

I really like the Videogames music, because, I think today thats the only good music, because the music of nowadays are VERY bad, I know theres at least one good nowdays music, but, I still prefer the videogames music.

Well, I think thats all, if you want to know another thing about me, just post a comment with your question on this post.
See ya in another post.

NDS Models: Transparent Textures appear Red/White with Random Lines...?

I want to upload more models for the games I've contributed to, but now this is happening with every model I load up.
In Edit/Object mode, anything transparent in a texture appears Red. Unsure

Edit Mode:

In Render view, anything transparent in a texture appears white (along with some black random lines/dots on certain models.)

I need a solution to the Render view problem the most.
If you think you know how to fix this, pleeeeease heeeeelp meeeee. Defeated
Here's the blend file along with the model and its png textures.

EDIT: What is with these lines?! Does anyone know the solution to this, too?  Unimpressed

I know I'm not exactly active on most of this site anymore, but I hope it's alright that I start this event again.

Much like last year, the idea is that multiple users will create a little something for each of the 25 days leading up to Christmas; however, there are two key differences this time around.

- First of all, you don't have to make your entry pixel art. Drawings are also acceptable, but I don't see why you can't submit something a little different different for a day, such as Holiday remix of a song.

- Secondly, I'm doing a signup sheet for the 25 days of this project. You see, the problem that I realized for the last two years of this event is that it started when there was little to no time before the first day of December rolled in. Also, I feel like that it lacked structure. As a result, there wasn't a lot of time to make entires and not everyone was dedicated to the event. I decided to resolve these problems by creating a signup sheet ahead of time. Feel free to sign up for almost any day you want and don't be shy about signing up for multiple days.

There are no actual guidelines to this event. Just make it Christmas-themed and have a good time! Smile

I was trying to rip the yoshi's story stage from ssb64. I got all the textures and the frame then I put them into the same folder. Then, I loaded my .obj from the rip i did with 3d ripper dx into 3dsmax2016 and It says "materials not found" when the files are obviously there. WHAT'S HAPPENING?

Edit 1: The model on the top right is the model i ripped with 3d ripper dx. The model's textures don't show up. Also, i even added png version of the original texture file type (as seen in the photo) and still no luck!

I'm RezonAce (Rezon or Rez for short).

I'm joining your community with the hopes of making friends and finding people who can make custom sprites and stuff for the game I'm making (since right now I'm stuck using placeholder).

If anyone wants to learn more, join the project or just talk, send me a message (I don't bite, I promise).

Thanks for having me!

ModSaga (demos inside!)

1. What is ModSaga?

-ModSaga is an action RPG, like if Zelda 2 and Mega Man X were stuck in a high speed blender.  The game is currently being handled by myself (RezonAce) and a couple others. The game also utilizes an original universe (The World of ID) and story, as well as a unique customization system, the "Mod Matrix", which allows players to customize their "Rezon" character to their liking.

2. Who is "Rezon"?

Rezon is a character of my design (hence my username), and the main hero of ModSaga. He is a human who is given great powers and thrust into a situation far beyond his control. His powers stem from the Mod Matrix, as well as a unique ability called the "Overlap", which allows him to take on other characters' abilities and traits...maybe a little too much though.

3.What is the "World of ID"?

The World of ID is the main setting for ModSaga's story. It is a fantastic world made up of the things humans think of (with some limitations obviously to prevent perverted stuff and "Original the Characters"). The World itself is not whole, there are several territories divided by massive walls that prevent the imaginary characters from interacting with each other, blissfully unaware of the presence of other imaginary creature types. Recently however, ID has been attacked from all sides by a strange armed force called the "IDC" (Imagination Destruction Corps)...

4. What is the "Mod Matrix"?

The Mod Matrix is a system that allows Rezon's strengths and abilities to be tweaked with collectible "ModCards". By equipping different cards, Rezon can gain new abilities, and strengthen existing ones. However, some ModCards can actually cause Rezon to be weakened in some areas...

5. What is the "Overlap"?

As mentioned, the Overlap is Rezon's unique power; it allows Rezon to literally become a hybrid of himself and another character, in both abilities and personality. Rezon will gain the powers of the target character via a preset Mod Matrix build, but will also gain all their weaknesses and also traits of their personality, which comes into play when interacting with NPC characters.

6. You said you had a demo? GIMMEGIMME!

Whoa there, there's a few things to go over before I start handing this out...for starters, this demo is meant for Windows PCs. If you are running something other than Windows 7 or up, please PM me and I will give you the appropriate demo for your system.

Also please note that most of the graphical content is placeholder, which is part of the reason I'm even here.

There may also be bugs and glitches, please report them to me if you find them.

7. How can I/we help?

The biggest thing I need right now is a dedicated spriter/spriters. If you are interested in helping this project, shoot me a PM.

Other positions may be available as the project progresses, I will keep information on this thread as current and relevant as possible (bear with me on that for my schudule's really erratic)

But if you are interested in joining, shoot me a PM.

AND NOW, THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING  FOR!!!!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/cb1lfptwfs2vo4...9.zip?dl=0

As has been stated, this is a demo for Windows only...Mac/Linux users please PM me to get access...

So long and thanks for the time and fish.

I want to rip stuff from Glover 2 (unreleased, N64). And I want to know if someone would be allowed to do so.

Would it be possible to add "unreleased/beta"? at the end of the game title?

About Geno the character

You know a ton of fans want to see Geno from SMRPG return in some game. It's everywhere. But I'm not sure how many fans really understand who and what he actually is. They probably do but they've never really thought about it.

Geno is actually an inanimate object. He's a toy, possibly. based on a fictional character within the Mario universe. And so there could be hundreds or thousands of Genos all over the place. So "Geno" is not some distinct single character.

The actual character you speak to in the game is an entity known as ♥♪!?. His true identity is still very mysterious, and Geno is merely a tool he used to interact with Mario. This entity and "Geno" don't nessessarily need to be connected. He could return in any number of forms or controlling some other sort of toy. It doesn't have to be Geno.

On top off that, nothing is stopping another NEW entity from taking control of the Geno doll. Even something evil!

There is so much creative potential here that I never see any fan consider with that character. Whether it's fanfic or fangame. What do you guys think? These are just some thoughts I thought I'd share.

Dragon Fin Soup .dfs archive

This game just came out on steam, as you can see it has pretty beautiful painted backgrounds and portraits, plus nicely animated prerendered sprites.

It's archive is simply a renamed passworded .zip, I tried looking at the exe in a dissasembler for the password, foolish me thought I would get lucky and few searchs would turn up a password in plaintext, but no luck, truth be told I don't even know what I should be looking for in the dissasembler.

Just wanted to bring some attention to this game, since I know there are quite a few people skilled at computer forensics around here.

Is there a list of guidelines for submissions of sheets and archives?

I looked around but I couldn't seem to find any official notes on the matter.

The icons I understand, 148x125 for sheets, 240x125 for games...
What I want to know is about things like naming conventions for archives with hundreds of files.

If for example I have a script that unpacks a few hundred or more sprites, all from different characters, is it necessary to really rename each individual frame per character per animation etc, or is it OK to simply number them and put then in a folder/archive with the character's name?

If a sprite is ripped with a natural width and height of 64x64 pixels, but the image it contains is only 33x33, leaving a lot of blank space, is it necessary to crop it?
Is it preferred to leave such sprites unaltered, to ensure no flaws result?

If a sprite sheet naturally includes "pure black" as its transparent index, is it still necessary to replace it with some other color? (I've heard pure black should be avoided in spritesheets)

I think it would be nice if there was a set of general guidelines, somewhere easily accessible like the FAQ and such in the site's footer. (or even a forum category obviously demarcated for site-specific rules and guidelines. I've been around for years and still can't readily find those, so I just keep a low profile. Just found the forum rules.)

Viewtiful Joe (PS2) - trying to find and rip SFX

I'm a complete neophyte when it comes to rips. I'm looking to extract the sound effects from the PS2 version of the original Viewtiful Joe for use in a video I'm working on, but I have NO idea where to start.

Aside from the SLUS_209.51 and system.cnf files, the main directory has two sub directories underneath it: "modules" which has a lot of .irx files and one .img file, and "dvddata". The latter is further broken up into:
  • "core" (all .eff files)
  • "data" (all .dat files)
  • "movie" (all .pss files)
  • "pld" (all .bin, .mt2 and .tpl files)
  • "plsnd" (all .bd, .sii and .sie files)
  • "str(0, 6-9)" (all stage-related .pcm and .sre files)

I figure "plsnd" is probably the safest guest for the directory with all the sound files, but I wouldn't have the slightest clue how to go about converting any of those files to something I can actually use, assuming it's even correct. Can anyone please lend me a hand with this?

ROBOT FARM: Need Spriters!

Hello!

My team is working on a small 2D game called Robot Farm. It's essentially what you get you mix Final Fantasy Tactics, Pokemon, Harvest Moon and Dwarf Fortress into one package.

We don't have any spriters because so far we've only made 3D games, but this game is being made by our B-Team.

The game is nearing completion (we hope to have it done by December), we're at the point where we need to start replacing our placeholder sprites with custom ones. I'm willing to pay modestly for work, or you can work for rev-share. It's your choice!

If you're interested, please email us!

P.S. we'll need sprites along the lines of this, but NPCs won't require as many frames:

Game Hell: What gives you trouble?

we all like games one way or the other, and that's why we're here. But there's a high chance you aren't good at some game. There are games that... you suck a lot.

So tell me your experiences! What gives you the most trouble in games?

Mine would be any rhythm based game. I actually suck at rhythm on the fly - I can never press a button along with the music.
