Sonic the Hedgehog Games Model Ripping

Sonic the Hedgehog Games that need (more) model ripping:

There are lots of sonic games out there, but many of them have not been ripped from at all, or only have some rips, leaving many to want rips of these games to be complete. I am setting up this thread for anything and everything Sonic the Hedgehog related when it comes to ripping things and the like and to hopefully gather everyone who knows how to rip. This will allow for easier communication for those who already rip from sonic games and those that want to as well, and this will lead to more rips from sonic games in the future from Sprites, Textures, Models, and Sounds to much more.

This one though since it is on the The Models Resource Page, will focus on models only that need to be ripped from (any and all) Sonic the Hedgehog games that have 3d models that need to be ripped.
(Please tell me also if I forgot any sonic game that has 3d models or, which also includes ports, remakes, etc. of the same game [As different versions of games sometimes have more things than others, which is kind of cool])
{Language versions and more detailed list per game coming soon}

Ripping Mii models (Wii, Wii U, & 3DS)

So I have been searching around the web and not many people have ripped mii models from the wii, wii u, or 3ds (and the "normal" ds as well as some games supported mii's even though you couldn't create mii's on the "normal" ds). Whether it be their own custom mii, or just mii parts, there are no ripped mii models out there & no instructions how to do so.

This one person "NewSuperMoiWii" here was able to rip his mii, and though the video on the first part of the page in the link below I saw it while it was still up. But make sure to read the entire page, as it helps give a small amount of light into how he ripped it, though I don't completely understand it fully.

These pages also show "NewSuperMoiWii"'s posts and a download link that contains his mod for his mii for "oot" in some version of the game:

And here is a video that another person that shows off a mod containing his mii that "NewSuperMoiWii" had ripped from the mii chanel in dolphin and extracted with 3dripperdx:

Besides that example shown above I have not been able to find anything else for things that have been ripped from mii models. This thread will be up so that we can all find our a way to rip mii models, and hopefully be able to put them up on the model resource.

Saying Hello

Hello, VG-Resources, I’m ARAJediMaster. I’ve come here because of certain sound effects obtained by YouTube user “Star Wars Video Game Sounds.” I encountered his page about a year ago, and I was most impressed by the fact that he was able to rip some of the sound effects from several video games. I’m intending to use the sounds he ripped for some video projects of mine, but there are sounds out there still that have yet to be ripped and used: stormtrooper blasters from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope; R2-D2’s beeps and whistles; C-3PO’s servomotors; Chewbacca’s growls, roars, and other vocal sounds; and most crucially of all the lightsaber.

EDIT: Due to the admin’s insistence that I refrain from asking any requests outside of the board until a month has passed and I post 20 posts/threads, I have removed the previous descriptions until further notice. Anyway, I would like to thank “Star Wars Video Game Sounds” for his efforts and wish him well in his “retirement.”

Ripping SNES Instruments

A while back, I finally got myself a free music-making program (LMMS) which just so happens to support .WAV Samples  Big Grin Now, one thing I love to do in my free time is compose music with SNES instrument samples, most of which I rip myself using SPCTool...only there's a problem:

I don't have any programs to rip instruments from now.

So, do any of you know a good program that can rip SNES instruments straight from SPC files and convert them to .WAV files?

Moral Questions on ISOs and Posting Linking to Other Forums

So, I’ve got a question that’s been bugging me for some time now. I know somebody who have looked for ISOs that have been uploaded from various sites so that he can extract the various sound effects from it. I have the disks to some of the games I want to extract the sounds from: Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2002) for the PS2 and Gamecube, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the Mac and Xbox 360, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II for PC and Xbox 360, and Star Wars: Battlefront (2004) for PC. There are some sound files I want to extract from these games, but I have no idea where the sounds are and how to extract them; and there are other games I want to extract their sounds from but I have no access to: Kinect Star Wars and Star Wars: Obi-Wan.

A YouTuber named “Star Wars Video Game Sounds” had collected numerous sound effects from various games. Although he will no longer continue extracting sounds for others, there are some sounds from certain games that are not only what I want, but what others want as well. Thing is I want to get the files from the console games, but I don’t know how to get the computer to read the disks and their files in the cheapest way possible. However, I would like to do it legally too, which leads me to ask: should I look for ISOs for games I don’t have online, and if so how to extract their contents and rip the sounds?

The other part of this thread I wanted to address is that I found some links to valuable information that might help me—or others if they choose to—in extracting the sounds, but they are on the XeNTaX forum, which could be a problem here. If there are others who would be willing to help me get the sounds, I’m not sure if it would be okay to post the links up onto my thread for others to see because it could very well be against the rules here.

I need answers here. The best answers if possible.

With the idea of us implementing a system for genre for games, I want to begin compiling the list of genres we will bring on. There are some obvious ones, but I just want to see what you guys think of what we have already put together:

Action
Action-Adventure
Adventure
Beat 'em Up
Board Game
Fighting
Horror
Platformer
Puzzle
Racing
Action RPG
Turn Based RPG
Shooter
Shoot 'em Up
Simulation
Sports
Strategy
Visual Novel
Other

I'm unsure on a few of these, as I think they may be crowded in the end. But let me know what you think?

I wanna see about getting some of the battle sprites and character audio for y'all. I've seen streamers use fighting game audio in hype stuff as jokes so I figure there's a bit of a demand. Anyone know the programs and/or got tutorials for them?

Smash 3ds ripping help

I decided today to try ripping Super Smash Bros for 3DS and I think I did something wrong in the process.

I downloaded a decrypted version of the game and ripped the .ls and .dt files using this tool I found and I just ended up with a bunch of .bin files with random hexadecimal names.

Did I do something wrong because all the programs I have need specific files.

Pokemon-Related Models

Hey, this is more or less a cry for help or a desperate attempt at getting someone to do a job for me basically. I've got very little resources right now but I was wondering about the following games.

Pokemon Rumble Blast
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity
Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon

I would like to get certain models from these games and wanted to know if it was at all possible. I mainly want Dark Rust, The Bittercold, and the various 'Dark Matters' from these games as models. I've searched for a while and found next to nothing in concern to ripping from them.

New Feature: Proper "Other" Systems!

$
0
0
In preparation for our new developers and genres sections, Dazz and I implemented a new method of displaying games in the "Other Systems" sections today. Instead of everything being lumped into a single "console", new consoles were added for every game represented in the Other section. The navigation now intelligently determines if a game is big enough to be displayed as a "main" system (bonus points if you can figure out the number of games required) and moves the rest into a sub-menu of the Other Systems entry. Clicking on Other Systems will show you all of the games it contains, as it did before, but you can now actually browse the individual systems within it, just like every other system on the site except that all of their games are displayed on one page and the letter bar at the top is removed.

Also, while not yet implemented, the ability to submit a new game to a new system will be added, possibly tomorrow, which will tie directly into this new display style. We'll be removing the now unnecessary (System Name) from all of the recategorized games tomorrow as well. We're hoping this will improve usability and the utility of the search function, especially once we get the rest of our newly planned information in place. As always, post any comments, questions, or suggestions here!

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed .pcp .pcd files

Okay, so I’m in a bit of a pickle here. I want the sounds from the game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, but I don’t know where they are exactly. I see .pcd files, .pcp, and .lp files, at the start of each files, I see “cp” “hot_hoth,” “player,” “player actor,” something along those lines; and I don’t know where the sounds would be exactly. I have a Mac at hand, and I found a code that may help unlock it, but I don’t know where to put the code or how to utilize it. I’m just darned confused!  Tongue

I’ve uploaded a screenshot to show what I’m trying to show you here, and here is the link to the XeNTaX code I found: http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3915&hilit=.pcp
