3D Ripper DX with old games

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to use 3D Ripper DX on a game that's incompatible with newer versions of Windows. I'm using Windows 7, and I'd like to try it on games designed for Windows 95, 98, XP, etc. Is it possible to run it using Virtual PC?

Onimusha Blade Warriors rip help?

So I was trying to rip models from Onimusha Blade Warriors by Screen ripping through PCSX2 like I normally do for other games, but for some reason, the screenshot is stretched horizontally and I get an OBJ file with no bytes in it. There are bytes in the .gs file but I have no idea how to open that.

So I went looking into the ISO to see whether I can extract the models from there.

This is the closest I got to the model of the character I'm looking for.

Can anyone help?

EDIT: Added all the files with matching names. The model files are .DAT format.

Can someone rip the mugshots for the starters at least? I want to see how expressive each Pokémon is before I pick any. Oh and I don't just mean the default mugshots, as that doesn't really help me.

The "Good For Its Time" Defense

Something I want to address that's been bugging me for many years.  We've seen it all the time.  "Don't be so hard on X, it was good for its time!"

This particular defense for a game...it doesn't work, nor does it help the game's case at all.  As pre-emptive information, this is talking about defending a game as a whole, rather than certain aspects of it (i.e. graphics, sound and music), though those can also be under heavy scrutiny if there are better examples within their era.

Why doesn't it work?  There's one counter example here that completely invalidates this defense:  Pong.

Yes.  The most basic thing you can even call a game, Pong.  It is considered a timeless masterpiece, and it's the bare minimum of everything that makes a game.  You only have two controls:  Up and Down.  There is no music.  The only two sounds are a beep for the ball hitting a paddle, and a blip for the ball hitting the edges of the screen or walls in other versions.  The only gameplay here is hitting that same ball back and forth for all of eternity.  Yet, this game is still considered one of the best games made, and is still used today in tournaments, mini games, and more.

So with that information out there, what we have is a game that barely has any assets and the simplest of gameplay standing the test of time.  The test of time; if a game truly is good or a so called masterpiece, this is the most important test it needs to pass.  If it fails this test, then it devolves into what we'd call a fad, since those are only "good for their time."  There's no excuse for games that have much more resources available to them to have that problem, when Pong did not have that problem and barely had any resources.

What one could defend about a game is that some portions of it haven't stood the test of time, while others have, and that may be true.  But then it can't be a masterpiece, because a masterpiece wouldn't need any further polish.  Something like Zelda:  A Link to the past is considered a timeless masterpiece; it was great 20 years ago, and it will still be great 20 years from now; there are no design oddities that stand out as awkward and only fit for the 90s or anything like that.

What are your thoughts?  Contributions, additions, negations?  I'm sure I'm not the only one who is annoyed by people trying to use this as a defense when it just doesn't work given that Pong was and still is a thing.

Has anyone heard of this girl named Amanda Todd? If you haven't I'll tell you.She was the B.C. teen from Canada who killed herself on October 10, 2012 because she was being blackmailed, bullied, & cyberbullied. If you haven't seen her video, I'll put a link.

So i'm fairly new too this, so any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking to get some of the models from the Mii Plaza and its updates.
While I was able to get most models using braindump, I didn't seem to get anything from any of the updates.
I managed to get a cia of the 4.0 update but from what I can tell it's encrypted and I have no idea how to decrypt it if even possible.

Another thing is some models don't open properly or at all when using EveryFileExplorer.

SFM/Gmod models advice?

I've been wanting to port a model from a Generations mod (I did ask permission from the model maker of the mod, by the way) and i've been taught how to do parts of it, but when the Physics model comes into being done, I remain stumped and confused on it sadly. I'm still new to Blender and applying the armature as i've been told isn't the same with it as it is on the Reference model. That and maybe a few tips in case I messed up on the rig model as well. If you must know what the model is, it's this.

.png   Miles Render.png (Size: 78.44 KB / Downloads: 11)
That and when the textures are attempted to be put on, it never works when put in Model Viewer on SDK, which is a problem as well. I did have them converted into VTF and VMFs, but the same thing occurs, "ERROR:Model Attemped to load one or more VMTs it can't find" If anyone knows how to fix these problems in somewhat simple terms and methods, please tell me.

Ok, so for sometime, I have been wanting the character model's from Conker Live And Reloaded, but the file's seem to be compressed using a file format known as .rbm Can anyone help a guy out and see if we can extract the files? Also, if possible, if an emulator can get the game to run, you might be able to rip the model from there.

So I was trying to rip Ghost Trick mobile version and in the IPA it had a bunch of .bin and .caf files.
Now i assume .caf is music so would the sprites be in the .bin files?
I'm still new to sprite ripping an this is the first time i've come across these extensions.
Also curious on what the .lst files are.

KOF XIV so far...

For those unaware, here's the latest news on the next KOF installment: http://www.fightersgeneration.com/screens/kof14-teaser3.htm

It appears that SNK has been "hiding" in the smartphone game and pachinko market...But now they're making a pretty big comeback with a new KOF game.
What do you all think so far? I can tell that the graphics have a long way to go right now. I can't say I'm a big fan of 3D fighters (except for Soul Calibur), especially if the graphics are really dark with unbalanced colors (Soul Calibur is pretty clever with it, and the unique gameplay makes up for any visual flaws, IMO). I do realize that this is basically a 2.5D fighter like Street Fighter IV, so it looks pretty promising to me so far.
I've played nearly every 2D KOF, and I have to admit the graphics for those games are very well-balanced - it gives the feeling of a grungy street fighting movie and a silly action anime. I'm not sure that longtime fans will much appreciate this change in graphic style.

So yeah...My main gripe would be the graphics - I imagine they're not changing the gameplay very much from previous installments.

Disruptor PSX sprites/textures

I'm planning to start work on a remake + some extra levels and goodies of Disruptor for the PSX (open source remake in Gloome) .

But I need help ripping the textures and sprites. Anyone know how or willing to join the team?

I currently have a person who can easily make the maps, and I can code the weapons and enemies, I just need some help ripping textures and sprites. PSX-VRAM doesn't seem to work properly, similar issues have been had with another user as well. Any other good tools?
