Rigging Models Question

$

So, I've got my 3D model ripped from the game (several actually, thanks again Friedslick6!) but as it turns out, I'm not very good at rigging. As in, I can't even do it properly with pre-rendered stuff.

I'll cut straight to the chase, I'm not sure which option(s) I'm supposed to select. I'll take a pre-rigged SMD file for the best visual example (which I removed the mesh from and replaced it with an identical OBJ mesh file to see if I could get it right).

Yeah, it didn't go so well.

As you can see, the vertices keep splitting. What option / boxes should I be selecting for this? I have tried rigging from scratch using the official guide, but whenever I apply to 'bone heat' I'm told Blender couldn't find it correctly. As far as I'm aware, I don't have a problem getting the armatures set up, it's just... Getting them to stop splitting when I move an arm up (since some of the models I'd like to submit are in a terrible position, and the game never shows them in any less awkward poses).

I'm using Blender 4.9b, as well as 6.9 (which I'm less familiar with). Sorry for such a newbish question.

Okay, so while I don't have plans to make money from this game, I figured if I'm using original music and sounds, I should deviate from the whole Zelda GBC look.

I want to keep it 8-Bit, (Or as close as possible.) I'll upload what I have here, make a list of what I need, and anyone who wants to help, can!

I really need help with selecting an original palette. I have no clue how to go about doing something like that.

Here's what I have now. The main character, who needs to be done in an original style. I don't know how to sprite a person that's 16x16 in 8 bit without it looking too much like Zelda or Pokemon.

The Kogg enemy should be fine though, once he has a new palette. Everything so far uses the GBC Zelda palette. I'm gonna start on a tileset to upload as well.

Things I need to do:

-Redo Player Sprite
-Undead Enemies
-Mech Enemies
-Palette!

Hey everyone, I would like to share my experience on the dark side of cookies.
'join the dark side, we have cookies!' They said. But it's false, the cookies have the dark side. No one can truly have control over cookies, but the opposite is happening, now!

They... they..... ! THEY MAKE YOU CLICK UNTIL YOUR VERY LAST BIT OF SOUL BREAK!
You then become the slave of the Grand Cookie, he makes you click even more!! click clikity clickitikty click and your brain is now but a magic senseless brick! Zombified, you now do everything possible to please the Grand Cookie, but he's never satisfied!

I hired random elderly women to help me please our Grand Master. We built factories on half of the planet, we dug holes on the other half! We expended the Cookie Empire to outer space and in other dimensions through the science of Cookie Portals. Those still alive then helped me in my research of anti-matter condensers. All of it for him.

BUT IT WAS NEVER ENOUGH!!! He always wanted more, more and more of it. He enslaved them, the elders were now under his tyrannical control! But not only the elders! He found a way to make poor little cute kittens work for him too. But on a rainy day like any other, the elders had enough! The bingo centre could no longer hold the fury of the Grannies! Dark times for the cookie kind ensued, it was the Grandmapocalypse!!!

But the kittens and I were still under his control! We were cruelly sent into battle against these freaks, who slowly transformed into real monsters as the war progressed. Don't ever make the mistake of underestimating them, they are many, but they are one mind! I cannot tell who won yet, because it has not ended yet...

Tetris Collection (PS2)

In Japan, Sega released a game called Tetris Collection for the PS2, which not only compiles their Tetris (which has an entry on tSR), Flash Point, and Bloxeed, it was also released with a new game; "Tetris New Century", which is a remake of the Tetris arcade game previously mentioned, with many new graphics available, especially for the chimpanzee character who ended up with many new animations in New Century, after having only a few in the original arcade game. Just to give you a taste of how more lively this chimp got, have a look at this wallpaper Sega released.

There's also several new skins for the Tetriminos, with only one existing in the original arcade game. New Century adds eight additional skins to the Tetriminos that can only be found via special means.

If anyone is able to rip this game's sprites (and maybe the sounds) I'd appreciate it.

So with all these recent Pokemon Playthrough threads popping up, I decided to do a playthrough of my own. However, I'm starting from the series roots with the often-overlooked prototype of the series.

Little-known fact: I endorsed this back in the day. I feel like they should have stuck with the gothic feel of the original concept.

They even included Guycot as an easter egg.

And there we go. I'll be getting started on my Pokemon Journey soon.

Unfortunately, the only Pokemon I found so far was a dead Pidgey.

At least I can throw it!

Go! Dead Pidgey!

Team Rocket appears much earlier in this game.

They are also grabbier than I remember.

Aww yeah, I finally found a Pokeball. Time to catch whatever the hell that is.

Hmm.

As you can see, Marowak's design was way different. I kind of miss the shield.

Dead Pidgey prevails.

And I've captured Marowak.

I'm on spring break right now but that's beside the point. I was pacing around my room like I usually do when I'm thinking about something. All of the sudden, I hear the phone in my bedroom go off. Since my father wasn't home, I walked over to the phone to check the caller ID. For some reason, there was no number displayed on the phone. However, it did display a name: Freddy. I picked up the phone and said "hello" while keeping a smile on my face. The reply I was met with was like no other; it was a sound so bad I could swear I was going to go deaf. Shocked from the unexpected reply, I yelled "ah! Freddy!" I then proceeded to drop the phone as I began to envision a claw coming out of it (that part might have been a hallucination though). As soon as the phone hit the floor, the claw disappeared and the caller hung up.

I'm currently ripping the models from S.T: C.W.A. I've added 2 models contained within the link. I'd like Admin to see if the models me "MODELS-RESOURCE" parameters.

Also, a few questions...

A) Each model set comes in up to 4 pieces, Head, Body, Hands, Feet. For each model, is it preferred that I put each part in a separate .zip file, or should I create the male / female models in full and .zip them?

B) In addition to A, should I put both MALE and FEMALE armour in a single .zip, or as seperate .zips?

C) This is a request for help, as I won't be able to obtain every model in time, I was curious as to whether or not, anyone on these forums plays S.T: C.W.A. If so, do you have a female character with Felucian Mission Tokens, or the Felucian cloak set( FEMALE)? I can't aquire that model, unless I see it in-game.

There are images of other models. Some seem smaller than their counter parts, which is due to the camera angle, and image edit.

R2 units are the same size, as they use the same mesh, MALE CLONE ARMOUR is larger than FEMALE CLONE ARMOUR.

Getting Started Basics How to get to the files?

Hello

I hope someone can help me with this. I'm getting started with ripping so I basically know nothing. Since some days ago I started to rip with the game Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3: Full Burst. A game that can be installed in the PC so you can easily get to the installed files to start ripping.

So here goes my question. How do I install other games that aren't for PC but for any other system such as PS3? Or what's the process to get to them for PS3 games for example?

I'd really appreciate it if someone could point me to right direction

Thanks.

`Sup, guys?

Well...I did it. After a year and a half of ripping, assembling, and in-between breaks with college work and whatnot, one of my biggest projects is finally ready.

I give you...the enemies of Stage 1 of Sonic Blast Man for the SNES.
Took a while to complete; had to use screenshots from NESBox.com just so that I could see which tiles go where and which tiles were recycled for other animations. Whew!
As a special treat, I included the enemies that were unique to the international release of the game as well as the enemies from the Japanese version.(US/PAL got the kick-boxer, and Japan got the chick thugWink)
As with any sheet people on this good site rip, please let me know if something is missing or incorrect, and I'll try to edit it. Later, dudes!Cool

Pokémon Evoas

Hello SpritersResource! I'm a huge fan of this site and its community of talented sprite artists, and I've borrowed a lot of assets from here in the past. I thought I'd show off this project of mine I've been working on for about 8 months now. I welcome any comments and criticism regarding gameplay, graphics, etc. Especially graphics... art has never really been my strong suit. I'm also recruiting sprite artists for the project, so Pokemon Evoas is interesting and want to help out, please let me know! A large portion of the custom pokemon sprites are made by Joshr, from his amazing database here.

(this entire post is copy/pasted from it's post on pokecommunity, which can be found here)

Introduction
Pokemon Evoas is a unique reinterpretation of the classic pokemon formula, with a new battle system, overworld, and other various tweaks to make the game feel more refreshing. It's being made completely from scratch, without the aid of a ROM hack or RPG Maker. This gives me the freedom to make many revolutionary changes to prior games, thus creating an original and exciting pokemon experience.

Playable Preview: An early version of the game can be played in-browser here! Check it out! I think it'd be a better way to find out what innovations Evoas brings to the table than just reading a list, but I provided that too below.

Features:

A new battle system built from the ground up to be more strategic while staying familiar:
  • All pokemon battles are 2 on 2. The traditional pokemon battle system, which is designed primarily for 1 on 1 battles, has been completely revamped to account for this fundamental change.
  • ~75% of moves are completely new. Returning moves are given new animations and are tweaked for balance.
  • Cooperation between allied pokemon is crucial. Many defensive or stat-boosting moves now benefit the other pokemon instead. For example: Defibrillate will revive an allied pokemon if they faint that turn.
  • Certain attacks can be combined to become more powerful. For example: X-Slash is twice as effective if both pokemon use it at the same time on the same foe.
  • "One shot" moves are introduced. These are especially powerful moves that a pokemon can use at most once in a battle, regardless of how much PP is left.
  • Moves no longer have an accuracy stat. They will always hit unless something else interferes. Several returning powerful moves that were balanced with low accuracies will instead be "one shot" moves.
  • The number of moves a pokemon can learn is dependant on its species. Some pokemon can only learn 3 moves, while others can learn as much as 7. Most pokemon, however, will only be able to learn 4 or 5 moves.
  • New abilities are introduced. For example: A pokemon with the Nectar Feed ability will regain a bit of health each turn after the move Pollenate is used by an ally.
  • Each species of pokemon has an "innate ability", but each pokemon can also learn one "learned ability". These essentially replace held items.
  • Pokemon can learn techniques as well as battle moves. One technique every pokemon knows is Swap, which allows a pokemon to swap positions with its ally. Pokemon can learn abilities that allow them to use other techniques (like mega-evolving, perhaps...?)
  • 2 new types, Metal and Light, have been added. Also, the types Bug, Dragon, Steel, and Fairy have been removed, with pokemon and moves being revised accordingly. A third mystery type has been added as well.
  • Status ailments such as paralysis and confusion have been altered or removed to remove the luck element. Also, all status ailments have counters that display the amount of turns until the ailment is healed. Lastly, ailments can also be stacked; a burned pokemon isn't magically resistant to poison.
  • More intricacies of battle exist for the player to discover!

Battles look more exciting than ever before:
  • Animated pokemon sprites: All pokemon idle, attack, and receive damage with unique animations.
  • Each attack causes pokemon to move around the field in various ways. If a pokemon uses Tackle, it will actually move up to and ram the foe, instead of whiffing at the air while the foe somehow takes damage. The camera moves around accordingly too.
  • In-game animation speed control: Simply hold "right" to make animations go faster and hold "left" to make them go slower.

Revamped Overworld Gameplay:
  • Gyms and the pokemon league do not exist in Godell. Instead, the player will be tasked of going through "dungeons" at certain points in the game, each with their own themed pokemon and trainers to battle. More emphasis is placed on puzzle solving.
  • Movement is no longer restricted to a grid, and you can move diagonally.
  • Commands are introduced, which roughly replace HM moves. The player will obtain several commands at key points during the game. After which, pokemon that have the ability to use these commands can do so to solve puzzles in the overworld. The commands a pokemon can use are constant to its species.
  • The first 2 pokemon in your team can be summoned at will to follow you around on the overworld. Follower pokemon are important in using Commands.
  • The formation of follower pokemon can be switched around. If a pokemon is leading, then certain commands can be used, and the encounter rate can decrease.
  • Screenshots can be taken at any time by pressing F12 on the keyboard. Screenshots can also be taken during battle.
  • Stone and other unconventional methods of evolving have been removed. Secret new methods of evolution have been introduced, however. Will you be able to unlock your pokemon's full potential?

Brink Mode: This is the game's most interesting new mechanic. It works as follows:
  • If a pokemon faints when fighting ruthless trainers or pokemon, the player can choose to keep it in battle and continue fighting. When this happens, the pokemon musters up some HP for the battle and enters an extraordinary state known as brink mode.
  • All stats for a pokemon are increased while its in brink mode.
  • However, if a pokemon loses all HP again while in brink mode, IT DIES. Dead pokemon cannot be revived by any means. Use caution when deciding whether or not a pokemon should enter brink mode.
  • With a few exceptions, entering brink mode is completely optional. Likewise, it will be possible to complete Evoas without a single pokemon dying.
  • Brink mode cannot be activated in friendly battles against ordinary trainers or wild pokemon.
  • Many secrets surround brink mode. Will you be able to utilize brink mode to its maximum potential?

TL;DR: Brink mode is a high-stakes risk/reward mechanic. In some circumstances, you can force a pokemon to continue fighting after it faints in battle. But if it falls again, it dies, and can never be revived.

Story: (Note: graphic is a bit outdated)

Software/Engine
The game is being developed with Adoble Flash CS5.5 and the programming language ActionScript 3. Paint.NET, ShoeBox, and Audacity were used for creating and tweaking certain assets. The Evoas battle engine is a completely original engine created by me in AS3.
