[Opinions] 3D character model

Hi everybody,

i just created an account here to see what feedback i can get on this 3D character im working on for a game.
so, I´m a mediocre programmer and a rather mediocre 3D modeler but none the less I´v decided to start working on a game idea that I´v had for a few years now. You can think of the game as a fighter so there is a minimal amount of polys on screen at a time (I guess) this is my first model for the game and what will become the base for further characters.

suggested topics:
-im not sure how the face is looking
-im defenetly having trouble wih the hands
-the head shape is also kinda wonky
-i think i´v got the body down though

any thoughts, comments, teardowns or opinions are apreciated.

based on the feedback i´v seen on other models here i look forward to seeing what new insight i can get from you guys

million thanks in advanced.

Decided i would go looking for the sound effects and noticed there were some .83 files that i somehow missed earlier.
Most of them are labeled "SE" at the beginning so i would assume they are sound/voice clips.
Not sure how to open them though..

Ripping from External Mobile data

I'm trying to rip models and such from an iPhone game, but the main app data is only 51 MB, but I know that there's gotta be more to the app than just what was given. I'm talking about external data stored on the phone that is downloaded instead of on the main app, itself. I've managed to rip from that kind of data before, but newer versions of iOS require jailbreaking your iPhone, and all the Jailbreak software don't work with iOS 9.2.1...

Does anyone know of a possible alternative way of doing this? Shreksual Healing

Neptunia U .wwb files

So I just downloaded Neptunia U on Steam, decided to look through the sound files, and found some of them with a file format that I've never heard of (I think they are like .xwb's, but I'm not even sure).
Is there a program that extracts these types of files?

[Music] VST SNES Instrument Emulator

So if you tend to make music digitally and want that SNES authentic sound, there is a VST plugin that emulates the soundchip fairly accurately.

The plugin is known as C700 and can be downloaded from here: C700 Download
The page in in japanese but thankfully the important information is in english and so is the plugin itself once installed.
You can import BRR files, SPC files, or WAV files. So you can either use accurate SNES samples from games, or try and get a sound you have lying around to run through it.

To use C700 you need a program that is compatible with VST/VSTi plugins, such as FL studio or other D.A.W. programs and load it through whatever means the program you're using loads the program. FL Studio uses a specific folder for that. e.g. ( C:\Program Files (x86)\Image-Line\FL Studio 11\Plugins\VST )

I'm only covering the basics of the plugin, but for the much more in-depth guide you can check out the source here: SMWC Original Thread
Describes it a lot better than I could and has an example of it in action, just wanted to share the information for those that would find it interesting and/or useful.

Help with Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit textures

So, I found that the textures for this game are in an NTP3 format, which is oddly similar to Smash4, probably because of Bandai Namco's involvement. I found a QuickBMS script for that, and extracted the textures, only to find that the so-called DDS textures are actually GIDX files. After searching around, it turns out that that file type is common around Bandai's games, but I have not found a single working converter for it. Here's a sample file: https://mega.nz/#!lUNUiADb!QVu0navbvsM92...UJwDkB55xs

If anyone knows how to extract these, it would be great!

Is this allowed (Question about tilesets)

In Undertale, some of the scenes are made up of a single sprite, or they use tilesets. The biggest issue is, it's really hard to rip the tile-based scenes, since you can't extract them as a sprite.

I thought of a really dumb solution, by using the scene editor in Stencyl, I can export the game's tilesets and re-create the scenes tile-by tile, and just save the working scene as an image. Here's an example with Temmie Village (Which has been asked to be ripped quite a few times) - which uses a tileset.

And here's the tileset I used.

The door and painting are actual sprites, so to make sure for accuracy, I just screen-capped them and pasted them in. So they align right.

Armored Core Last Raven Portable

Hi everyone,

I am looking to start a section dedicated to Armoured Core, the Armoured Core franchise has slowly faded into semi obscurity and I wish to hopefully revive that by providing the community/anyone with the models/textures to create content of their own.

I have been doing a large scale AC project in my free time (Limit Release),I just thought that doing this would spark some interest while I continue to develop it, I started to rip from Last Raven as it has both classic first and second generation parts, and also has a lot of enemies and cool designs that made people fall in love with generation three, so as a starting point I ripped the basic default unit from the garage area and assembled it in 3ds before uploading it here.

[Image: 12525629_10153608537579163_834942026217844300_o.jpg]

I am looking to organize a group to help rip most of the main AC units from the game, this also includes enemies and allied units, I also hope to expand this to the enemies from the other portable titles so that we can get a full range of models together.

Would anyone like to assist us?

Armored Core Limit Release

Hello everyone,

I would like to present to you my large scale animated movie project "Limit Release" based on Armoured Core 1 & 2, I started it a year (and a little bit) ago thanks to crowd funding and it is currently being developed by a small team for Unreal Engine 4, the idea of the project is to look at the old Armoured Core universe in a much more personal way from a characters eyes rather than behind a 10 meter tall robot the entire time, we have been working hard to develop just over half of the parts from Armoured Core 2 (100+ parts) which has taken quite a long time, we are currently getting ready for a presentation this year when we hope to show off all those parts (or a large portion of them) around E3.

Here are a few links to our Moddb page and our Sketchfab page so you can see the content we have developed so far.

Thank you very much for your time.

Questions

Do you know anyone that can identify a file-format from a game's files? The file format is most likely not in a custome format, since everything else is in a readable file format.

Are there any other good model-ripping programs that work except for 3D ripper dx and Ninjaripper? Is it possible to somehow also rip animations from games successfully?

Are the any model-ripping programs for Mac currently available?

Just joined the site and am looking to do some game design on UE4 but need guidance.
I have some experience in Maya and have found a model website and downloaded some Zelda models but I do not know how to Implement it in UE4. So am basically a noobSmile. Any tutorials will be appreciated and look forward to it.

Mega Man Cleanup

Ok, I sometimes casually browse the site and clean stuff up. I hit the NES Megaman games the other day and... they're a mess. As a reminder, sections should be categorized like this:

-Playable Character(s)
-Non-Playable Characters
-Robot Masters
-Enemies
-Bosses
-Backgrounds
-Miscellaneous

I could really use some help doing the following things, much like we did with the Sonic games:

1. Decide if we'd rather have one sheet with all the robot masters on it, or if we want to split that sheet into 8 different sheets. I generally think each RM should get their own sheet.

MM1-
-Split the Robot Masters into their own sheets?

MM2-
-Take possible missing frames from Ryan 914's Robot Masters sheet and put them in the singular RM sheets.
-Remove Enemies from singular RM sheets and create a new Enemies sheet.
-Compare that new Enemies sheet to the existing Enemies sheet by ?

MM3-
-Take possible missing frames from Ryan 914's Robot Masters sheet and put them in the singular RM sheets.
-Remove Enemies from singular RM sheets and create a new Enemies sheet.
-Split Bosses from the "Enemies" sheet.

MM4-
-Take possible missing frames from Ryan 914's Robot Masters sheet and put them in the singular RM sheets.
-Rip remaining regular enemies and incorporate them into Freedom Fighter's Enemies sheet; Arrange that sheet better.

MM5-
-Take possible missing frames from Ryan 914's Robot Masters sheet and put them in the singular RM sheets.
-Remove Enemies from singular RM sheets and create a new Enemies sheet.
-Take possible missing frames from Ryan 914's Dark Man Robots sheet and put them into singular sheets.

MM6-
-Compare Jet/Power Suit sprites to RTB's sheet and see if they're necessary.
-Take possible missing frames from Ryan 914's Robot Masters sheet and put them in the singular RM sheets.
-Rip Blizzard Man and Plant Man, if necessary.
-Remove Enemies from singular RM sheets and create a new Enemies sheet.
-Rip the rest of the Bosses.

Anything else? Anything I should clarify? I already split the MM4 bosses from the enemies, but it's a long road ahead. Any help is very appreciated.

Star Fox 64 3D & Zero Ripping Help

I'm looking into how the rip elements from the most recent Star Fox games, 64 3D and the upcoming Zero. I'd like to start with the 2D graphics like the character portraits, and eventually grab bigger things such as the models, voice files and such. I don't have much experience, so I could use some pointers.

The 3DS game is my first priority, but I'm not exactly sure where to begin. If I had a way of recording the game footage, for example, I could just screen cap all the portraits in their open and closed positions. I would like to get the files straight from the game if possible. Anyone think they can point me in the right direction?

One more thing I'll note from the Zero footage I've seen: aside from the characters having many more frames of animation, the camera seems to have a shaky cam effect even when the character is not moving. I'm not sure if it's panning around a larger sprite or if the sprites themselves have different angles built in. That's something I'm hoping to look into, but again, I don't have much experience with these advanced games.

Gauntlet Help

Hello all.

For about 2 months now I've been ripping models from Gauntlet Dark Legacy.

Two days ago it stopped working. I figured it was a particular file (according to the internet) so I tried to delete that and royally screwed up my comp so I had to reset my OS. So I'm basically starting with a clean computer.

I have all of the same programs as before, but it's still not working.

I'm using Ninja Ripper 1.5.1 x86 with Dolphin 3.0 x32. (Again, this is what I have been using and it has been working just fine until 2 days ago.) It still looks like it's ripping. The game sputters, then goes back to working, but the files don't show up.

I have found that sometimes it will rip the files but it stores them in a folder.exe and hides them. As in I can only look at the .rip files if I browse using Ninja Ripper, but I can't see them no matter what I do with file explorer.

I am not opposed to trying any other kind of ripping program, but I've tried 3d ripper dx, and 3d printscreen crashes my dolphin. Furthermore I have tried dolphin x32 and x64 of versions 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 as well as ninja ripper x64 and x86 for their respective formats.

If it helps at all, I'm using 3d studio max 9 to compile everything, but I figure that isn't important as getting the files is currently the problem.

Thank you for any and all help. I'd really like to finish this project.
