How should weird UV maps be handled?

I'm working on ripping Linkle from Hyrule Warriors because a lot of people are requesting her. Everything's working just fine, but her eyes are mapped very strangely (i.e. not at all like her eyes look like in-game). Should I leave them like that, or manually fix them to match her in-game appearance?

EDIT: When I ask if I should "leave them like that," I mean to ask if I should upload the model to TMR as-is.

For that matter, how should I map them if it is a better option to fix them? This problem also applies to Twili Midna, and probably a few more models which I haven't yet ripped.

Here's the mesh of Linkle's eyes from the front...

And here are the two textures.

The sheen and the iris, respectively.
However, this is how it's UV mapped by default...

Not a very accurate mapping, is it? Here's the promo art, for reference

Help ripping from andriod/iOS games? [Using Unity 5]

Hey everybody, I need quite a lot of help.
Me and some friends are trying to rip models from a Japanese Android/iOS game, called the iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage, and I can't seem to find any help. There was a tutorial posted on how to rip from the game, but I haven't been able to get it to work, and nobody seems to be able to work with it either. I figured this would be the best place to ask for help. Although, most people seem to be able to rip from the game's server, and I'm unsure of how to do this, too.
The main problems seems to be that the character list can't be found anymore since the most recent update.

I have the most recent version of the game, in .apk format and .ipa format. Keep in mind i'm very new to model ripping, and a lot seems pretty confusing to me. Thanks in advanced!

PS, Here are some links that might help:

It's not out for a few months but I figured I'd start a thread for the hype and whatnot.

I'll go on a limb and say that I wish I had a PS4 so that I could pick up a copy when it comes out. I'm very impressed with how SNK-Playmore has handled such a big project. While maybe it doesn't look like the best fighting game in the modern era, it still seems promising enough as an addition to a lesser known fighting game franchise. It overall looks well-prepared and I'm expecting some positive reception from critics once it comes out!

And just a suggestion that we keep the "graphics > gameplay" discussions out of this topic. Every person has their own way of judging a game based on their own tastes, so it seems kinda pointless to argue about it. I'd appreciate it. c:

StarFox Zero Models

Never expected I do something like this, but I actually obtained some Star Fox Zero models from the game files. These models are in .obj format (and .3ds for fun), yet I have no idea how to apply textures for them on 3DS Max. Also, they have bones. Here's the link if anybody wants to finalize the models.

Best Way to Batch Convert a Couple Thousand .ddses?

Hey all.
I've got a question, an important one. What's the best way to batch convert a bunch of .dds to .png while keeping transparency? I decided to give XnView a go, but the backgrounds turn black, so that's no good. Any other suggestions?
And while were at it, I also have some .tga to convert too, but not nearly as much.

Edit: Know what awesome program I already had installed that works like a charm? SageThumbs, and it uses XnView's library too!
If you know any other methods or programs, feel free to also suggestion them below still. Wink

Want some CC on these M&L sprites.

Hello everybody!

I made these like a month ago just to practice. Most of them are either custom or heavy edits, though the Hammer Brothers use parts from existing sprites because I wanted them to fit the style of the game.

Right now I'm in the middle of exam season, and I'm probably not gonna touch these for a week or so. But I still wanted to get some CC, which I will try to apply later. Also, I'm not really planning on making animations for any of these, but may change my mind if you think they have potential.

Xander's Super Wario Bros! ~ HTML5 Engine Demo!

Hi Everyone!

I've been messing about with the HTML5 game engine called Impact. It's pretty awesome. It works by using the HTML5 <canvas> tag paired with a whole whack of javascript. As long as you have a modern web browser, you are good to go, with Chrome being the best.

Why is Chrome the best? Because it supports native Gamepad support! So if you have a Gamepad plugged into your computer, you can use it without any setup! Apparently Firefox has decent support now too. And MS Edge. You can even boot up my game on the Xbox One's Edge web browser, pretty cool.

I've spent a couple of weeks adapting the engine to simulate a Mario game. While there is still work to be done, I feel it's finally at a place where it's worth showing. Smile

There's nothing to install, you just play it right in the browser. And if you have a gamepad, it'll just work.

Just click the link, and you can start playing!

While I do know there are some bugs (you can't fully die just yet, there's no strict level-ending, among others), feedback is appreciated!

Thanks! Cool

Paper Mario: Color Splash

So this is a thing that happened. I know everyone hates it... I kinda do too. I was hoping for a game with Thousand Year Door mechanics and a story even better than Super Paper Mario's... not Sticker Star 2. But anyway I thought it should have a thread so here we are. What are your hopes for this game? I personally hope it has a story that doesn't bore me to death, and a new villain or returning villain that isn't Bowser. But I'll accept Bowser as the villain if he has Kammy Koopa with him, as she was the original Paper Kamek. I had no problem with Sticker Star's mechanics, though I preferred TTYD's. So the card mechanic doesn't seem that bad, I'm just afraid the story will also take after SS, which would be very bad.

I hope it at least acknowledges Super Paper Mario in some way, as that's the only one that didn't even get a character namedrop in Sticker Star. Perhaps Count Bleck could appear with Tippi for a cameo. Of course I want to also see Mario's partners from the originals appear, preferably all of them. In the flesh, not some shitty namedrop or less. In Paper Jam I wanted interaction between X-Nauts and Shroobs, but I guess that didn't happen, so any appearance of Shroobs can be kissed goodbye. At the very least have some original PM enemies like Clefts and Clubbas.

TL;DR: Please for the love of Grambi, reference the other Paper Mario games besides Sticker Star.

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon model ripping-Take 2

You may remember that back last year shortly after Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon was released in North America, Lilothestitch started a project to rip models from it. The project did successfully produce some output but none of it was ever posted on the Models Resource and the project was then abandoned for an unknown reason and the thread then locked a few months later after someone "necroposted" in it.

Now a few months have passed since it's North American release and I'm assisting in trying to get this project back up and running again. Now, so far, all I have is this folder which only contains a few .bch files with models included and here's a screenshot of the Totodile one and the corresponding file in which it can be found.

And since I've managed to find at least a few models within just this one folder (pokemon_graphic) but this folder was all I could find as trying to find the ROM for this game led me to a boxing match video instead (can't post a link to that site due to the rules), I started this thread where you are free to join in on the project (if not, it'll probably be just me and Lilothestitch working on this and it'd take a long time to have every model ripped from this game) and ensure that there's a place where the models of PSMD can be downloadable.

Thanks for dedicating your time.

I've been recording whatever on my phone and uploading them to YouTube, complete with strange music. No, this isn't some kind of ARG, but it's inspired by various channels on YouTube that have been dubbed mysterious.

There's not really a message behind all of this. I was just bored. Blank

I'm amazed so little research has been attempted for this game. I have an assortment of the files that may be of interest for ripping models and textures from it. Hope someone here can help figure out a method of ripping them.

Chapter 1: First meeting of Vanilla & Ice
Long ago in the Emerald Town House in Mobius, Lived a young rabbit named Vanilla Yamato, She went to the store one day to buy some eggs & Milk for her mother. After doing so on her way home to her parents saw one of the Babylonian Eagles being chased by Psy-Cobra's Mutants, Butt-Man and Boogeyman. "Oh gosh! The poor eagle's in trouble!" Vanilla gasped, then picked up a rock, throwing it at Boogeyman.

And as Boogeyman Spots Vanilla trying to attack Vanilla sprays Boogeyman's mouth with one weakness, foam spray of Cheese. Then Vanilla beats up Butt-Man with a newspaper and that scared him away. Then she picks up the eagle. "Are you alright, Mr. uh....?" Vanilla asked.

"Earnest Lagomberg," The eagle explained, "Friends call me Ice the Eagle and if not I won't have any friends. So, what's your name by any chance?"

"Vanilla, Vanilla Yamoto," She introduced, "So what brought YOU here?"
"My ex-wife kicked me out, because she found out that I won't tolerate anymore of her bickering over me. I'm looking for a place to stay."

"I'll take you to my house, There I'll introduce you to my parents."
So Ice and Vanilla made a perfect Bond as they walk straight to her house.

Inazuma Eleven Go/Strikers Help

Ok, so I am on to a new project, I recently bought these two games in Japanese form in order to upload the sound files for the web since the game has such a diverse cast. The problem that I am facing is that I cannot seem to find all of the character voices for the game. Another user uploaded the English sound files a while ago and I noticed that their file names are much different from mine which leads me to believe they found a different folder other than the "Stream" batch which only has certain characters. I don't know too much about Wii games but I was wondering if someone could help me to find all of the voice files for the game. Currently I have a some but not of all the characters the game has, it seems as though the other voices are hidden away in a file I cannot find.

The Stream seems to work along with the BRSAR's but the streams only have specific characters. If anyone can get in touch with the person that uploaded the original Inazuma sounds for VG that would be great! If you can help me find the proper files that would be great as well! Just let me know what you need and I can send it to you.

Okay, so, I've seen a few things floating around from this game. I was hoping someone could rip Eggman Nega from Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. I'd do it myself but I don't have the methods of doing so.

Hello!

I search for this thread but i didn't found nothing.

I'm doing a homework and i choose to make a diorama of a scene from the VG Final Fantasy IV. I found the sprites in the web, but the image is very tiny. When i copy the sprite of the character i need in Corel or Photoshop to print, the sprite lose quality.

So, my question is....

How can i improve the sprites found in this page to print in (for example) A3 or A4 sheet???

Thanks! Wink
