Some random other GFX rips...

Not many, but a few that might be interesting to some people.

For example, here's the Well of Lost Souls tileset from Indiana Jones Greatest Adventures:

[Image: indianajonespyramidfg.png]And the Training Course tileset from Drill Dozer:

I've also gotten some toy GFX from DoReMi Fantasy:

Though that's still being ripped.

So yeah, thoughts so far?

5 of the most underrating platform videogames

This 5 platforms games that haven't been properly received, they have played very few and that the other people didn't call attention to them and rejected without reason. They may not be excellent graphics but have a pretty good gameplay, and if you play one of these games, you'll see they are not as bad as people say. They are the purest example of the ignorance of all.

So, uh, howdy everybody, been a long time since I've posted 'round here. Embarassed

But hey looks, I've got sprites! ...Okay, kinda sorta. Long story short, I'm working on an RPG using RPG Maker MV. But rather than just making another cookie cutter top-down game with the engine, I'm doing something... different.

Essentially I said 'NAH, SON'

The game's going to be side-scrolling ala games like Valkyrie Profile and that indie Indivisible. But that's for another thread, this topic is about the actual sprites/tilesets. As you can see, there's kind of nothing really detail-wise at the moment. I'm still figuring out what pieces I need and how to go about assembling maps with this engine in mind.

Tileset Samples:  To Be Added (the sheets are a mess atm)

Character Samples: Just the one I can show right now
[Image: ed737227fa.png]
It's a simple style, mainly based on the Disgaea games

C+C will be nice, once there's more to comment on, obviously.

Hi! I"m new here. I've always used the SP's resource, but I never made an account. But now I have one! I'm currently working on a link to the past fan game and I need the pot smashing animation and the enemy "dying-poof " animation. Thx!  Smile

Using Ripped Models for Reference

Hey guys; I'm pretty new here, so I thought I'd make a thread about a topic I don't think has been covered. Sorry if it already has.

So I've really been getting into making 3D models; it's something new, fresh and entirely different. I'm used to drawing but I felt modeling 3D objects would be a nice change. I found the Models Resource (which is damn sweet) and began downloading the many ripped models across various games. The main reason I did this was to figure out how they were made. I wanted to study the topology and how different models were constructed. I find it very educational and I have learned a lot more about making 3D models from that alone.

This brings me to the topic at hand: is the act using ripped models for reference acceptable? I've seen people use concept art and 2D image planes as reference to create 3D models, so would using a three dimensional object be justified too? I understand there are ethical concerns such as copyright, the construction of topology, etc, to account for, but I think it would help beginners get to grips with the construction of a mesh since you can see how all the vertices are connected.

I am unsure if there have been cases of people outright ripping models from games and then tweaking them for their own endeavors (E.G. edit the mesh, repaint the textures, alter animations, etc), but I don't think using reference material to guide the structure of the mesh is necessarily a bad thing, right? At least not commercially, surely? For non-commercial projects I think there would probably be more lenience but I totally understand if:
  1. They fail to credit the original source.
  2. They used the modified model in a commercial project.
What do you guys think? Do you think it's okay to use an already-existing model whilst also being trans-formative with your own model? Or do you think otherwise?

Medarot/Medabots 3DS Models

Heey guys,
So I decrypted the romfs from the 3DS game Medarot 9.
I want to rip some models, but when I rip them with "EveryFileExplorer" the parts aren't placed correctly.
This is not a big problem, perse. But it becomes a problem when some pieces of the parts are combined incorrectly.
For example, on Metabee's arms, the arms themselves aren't correctly positioned in the shoulder piece.
Also that big black thing on the back of the shoulder piece isn't positioned right.
These pieces are combined with the shoulder piece and can't be repositioned without cutting them away and recreating them.
But the game is able to acces it correctly and reposition them right. So does anyone know a way of doing this?
If you guys need the files, I could possibly PM them.

Thanks.

Hy, I like to make my own video games. I know c++, Qbasic, Blitz3D and I can learn other stuff to. I'm ready for 3D, except I'm not a great modeler yet, so in the meantime I will make my own playful fan projects based off of my favorite game franchises using this site. I'm very glad to join the community though and would love to see fan games made by others. I use FragMotion for modeling! (good at everything else but making fantastic models but that shall change!)

Hi, im still new to ripping. I want to rip the models from the original xbox game phantom dust. Iv got a dump of the game what kinda files should i bee looking for that might be able to be converted to a usable 3d format? I know xbox is basically not emulated outside of halo so grabbing through emulation is not an option. The game is supposed to be released on xbox one and pc next year. Should i hold off and see what we can do then ?

Thanks for any help

Is it possible to rip sprites with tablet/ipad?

Hiyo.  Recently I’ve been working on a link to the past fan game and wanted to rip some sprites (enemy dying animation.) .  The problem is, I don’t want to do it on my pc because I’m afraid of downloading a link to the past rom that might contain a virus. (Even though I have zsnes) I was wondering if ripping sprites on an emulator on the tablet  was possible. I have snes9x and a link to the past rom on it.  I’m curious because its apparently possible to rip sprites on snes9x. Also, I tried usb-cable-transfering the Zelda rom to my pc. It worked, I was able to open it with zsnes, but it froze a second into loading. Also, it said in the bottom right “BAD ROM”.    Also, even if I could’ve screenshotted the sprites on my Asus tablet, the scaling in snes9x makes it blurry. So I’m out of ideas and I don’t want to risk any chance of my pc getting infected. Help. Any ideas or knowledge to be sharred?

Question regarding model timeframes:

I saw that the user TwiliChaos ripped and submitted a ton of Twilight Princess models and locations almost a full month ago. I've been waiting for those to go live so I can make use of them in my remastering projects, but there's been no update to the Twilight Princess page since submission. It there a general timeframe for page updates after models are submitted? I don't mean to sound ungrateful for everything the staff does, I'm just curious as to how much longer I should expect to wait.

Extracting DAT files (Nintendo DS)

I just thought I give it a shot.

Well, I used the tool DSLazy to unpack the ROM from Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled:
https://mega.nz/#!5JYBXSCL!x2CptvgzWJTG6...GDwa6fAhrk (these are the extracted files, 8MCool

Turns out, the files with the sprites are all DAT files. I already tried TiledGGD to extract something out of them, but I only had success with a few ones (overworld hud, battle interface).

Maybe someone else can give it a try? I'm mainly interested in the character sprites.

If you're not sure what Black Sigil is, I already ripped several backgrounds from it:

I'm trying to get the sprites of Dan from Sengoku Denshou but the only method that works for me is the slow way. I tried to use Tile Molester, VSNES and Memviewer but they don't seem to work for me in one way or another. This is what I have so far...

Anyone can finish ripping this? PM me with your price.
