The "I like to play as either male/female characters" Thread

$

We have favorite characters to play as in video games. but in general, most people don't mind having to play as certain characters, whether they're restricted to a single character (i.e. Street Fighter 1, Super Mario Bros.), one gender (i.e. Fatal Fury), or any other circumstances. Maybe they don't mind leaving their comfort zone to try other characters, like in Super Smash Bros. (hell, i do that sometimes when i play for a good change of pace)

But for me personally, it's very specific and very limited. I like to play as female characters. Street Fighter - i'm Chun Li, Darkstalkers - i'm Felicia, ESP Ra.De. - i'm Irori.

Back then I wasn't as picky. But nowadays I usually stay away from games that only have dudes. Zelda is an exception because the 2D games are just too darn fun to put down. but otherwise, i like games that either feature a girl as the lead character, or give me a choice to choose a girl to play as.

It's pretty much from a visual standpoint. I like female designs because...Well they just look pleasing to my eyes. sex appeal, moe, whatever appeal, i don't care all that much. i like any female character designs really.

But there are people different from me. and that's totally cool. i'm glad games these days have become so diverse in pretty much every aspect of character design. it's probably what's pushed games into the mainstream even moreso.

Ripping stuff obtained through Fiddler

I used Fiddler to obtain data from the THE IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage. Some of the files I got were recognizable (like PNGs), but most had filenames that were seemingly random strings of letters and numbers, and they had to file extension. The files come in folders and subfolders with names like "resources" and "AssetBundles," which makes it sound like I'm on the right track. I tried opening these up with Unity Studio, but there were no exportable assets, it seems. Am I looking at the right files? And how do I extract data?

Screenshot-like ripping program

I'm currently using 3DVIA Printscreen to rip from a game called "Gun Disassembly 2" and "World of Guns"
It ripped the mesh perfectly, but it's not ripping the textures for some reason

3D Ripper DX doesn't work on "Gun Disassembly 2". When attempted on "World of Guns" the game restarts as if it detects injection.

Ninja Ripper ripped the textures but cobbled up all the models parts

GameAssassin doesn't work either on "Gun Disassembly 2". When attempted on "World of Guns" the game also restarts as if it detects injection

Is there any other "Screenshot" style ripper out there that I haven't tried?

Need help converting .PAC files from Mario and Sonic Rio 2016

I'm ripping out Rosalina, Daisy, and Peach's models from Mario and Sonic Rio 2016.
First, I'm confused because there are several .pac files of the one model.
like BRZ.pac, NWD.pac, RFS.pac, and SPB. Two of each. One has a .pac and the other has .00 at the end of it.
I don't know which one to convert. And I can't find a script to convert and decompress it either...

Pac-Man and Galaga Dimensions (.shbin?)

Dear users,

As I'm approaching the 3DS to get some stuff out that was barely even ripeed, I've reached the Galaga series, one of my favourites. However, my skills in the 3DS is limited, and I would like to request some assistance as I need to deposit more of my time in college.
I've unpacked a romFS of the game, but this is where it complicates. My firse step was to rip the Galaga sprites from Galaga 3D Impact and Galaga Legions, for the Resource. (and personal spaceship inspirations).
And low and behold, I've found files never heard of. The .shbin format. It's also called SHaders BINary. Since I don't own a 3DS for the time being, I would like if someone would lend me a hand. Anyone can:
-Solve my issue regarding extraction of 3D models from the game and send me some finished results.
-Solve my problem regarding the .shbim files and extract their contents and step over one obstacle.
-Give me a tutorial on ripping the 3D Models or some tutorial about the .shbin.
The files are attached for your experimentation.

Your aid is welcomed,

Long time i don't posted something.
I'll show my Gunvolt (from Mighty Gunvolt), in 16-bits.
Originally, the Might Gunvolt sprites uses 8-bit, i used Gunvolt version in 8-bit, added some shading and resulted in this:

Hi, guys!
I am new here and I wish all good to all of you!  Smile
Now, I'd like to ask for some help about Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
Does anyone here have extracted all graphics from this game's vram, BUT in based,
tiled version, not completed in backgrounds, characters or anything else?
I need that, but with corrected palettes for all.
I tried to do myself, in Psx vram, but with no success.
I just have no time for that big job, maybe proper knowledge too...
Thank you in advance!

Well, first i would like to say that is incomplete, i just wanted to upload it to see any suggestion that you guys could bring (Before a make some changes)

You will need to download it to play it, if you dont want to, then you could test this one:

w1.sfgame.net/index.php
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sj-8c6JD8IQ

I didnt make that but is pretty close to mines (Kinda), I did "copy" that game :s

It has few features like:
-Register/Login: Create account and start game

-Protect Zones: You will see 32 zones which you can Secure (If its empty), Atack (If someone else is the owner), or Restore (If you own it), is pretty incomplete, Secure is the only one that it works.

-Ranking Colisseum: This is like the "Pvp", You need to atack other players Guardian, if you win you take his place, the goal is to get Top 1, If you dont have a Guardian and someones atacks you, they will take your place without effort Tongue

-Digimon Team: Here you can Upgrade your Digimon, the cost if their stat (Strength 46 cost 46 Gold to get to 47), also you can choose your Guardian.

-Digimon Lab: Here you can "purchase" your Digimon (Actually just 3, Agumon, Veemon and Impmon), By Gold you get normal stats, and with Cristals (Purple thing) it will get x5 Stats, at the beginning you can buy two (Which is the default max limit)

-Tamer Stats: Placeholder....

Anyway, if you download it and test it, dont click on "Atack" in Zones, its glitched and it will crash the game, In a future it will be upgraded, more animation, better design and more stuff (Or that is what im expecting for)

N64 Models with Texture issues (Smash Bros.)

$

I'm not sure if it's been stated anywhere else, so I'm going to say it here. I'm aware of this post, but it's too much and tells you to use programs I don't even know anything about. I'm using 1964 and Lemmy's video plugin that rips the entire 3D scene. I import it to 3DS Max and manually drag in every texture (it's easy because the names of the meshes in the model include the names of the textures). After doing that, I notice there's this issue with textures that are supposed to flip themselves around. Pictured below is the intro/ending cutscene in Super Smash Bros., where the CD in front of the stereo and the pink rug aren't textured normally. I think the chest and maybe the walls (some I've temporarily hidden) have the same issue.
There's also transparency issues, which I can simply fix by editing the textures and dragging them back in, although that's not a priority right now. Now I could export this model to SketchUp, where I could easily fix these issues because I am much more experienced in that program than 3DS Max, but there's this one plugin for 3DS Max that I tried before and it worked perfectly, but now I have to pay $99 and I'm definitely not going to find myself doing that very soon. Exporting the model in any format that SketchUp supports will either come up textureless or unreadable.

I've also noticed the pens in the pencil holder on the desk in the above image were coloured faces before I dragged the textures onto them. So was some of the bed, and almost all of the lamp. The desk, apart from the drawers, doesn't have a texture at all and is supposed to be a cream colour.

I wouldn't have any of these problems if I could perfectly export to SketchUp, so any tips on that would be great. Unless I could send the scene file to you if you want to ask and you can help me fix these issues. Kappa

And by the way, on the Models Resource there are characters that others have ripped, although the textures don't look right, and they're not T-posed. I've searched and asked but I'm looking for a GameShark code or two that puts the fighters into a T-pose, because I'm thinking of ripping them and uploading/re-uploading them too.

And I managed to rip this scene from the intro almost perfectly, apart from applying textures I just removed Mario and Kirby, who were standing in the middle. See the problem?

P.S. I'm not very well experienced with 3DS Max, if you couldn't tell

Wilhelm Scream

Hey there! I need some help with a specific sound effect that everybody has been craving for years now; a high quality version of the Wilhelm Scream. I know of two possible places to find it: the DLC of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II of the Endor mission, or, preferably, either the PS2 or Nintendo Gamecube of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. Any help in getting these sounds would be appreciated. There are two variants of the scream, and I want them both, please.

Cosmic's NEW Pixel Thread

Made basically because my other pixel art thread was practically a year old, and didn't want to bring it back from the dead.

Anyways, I had come back here after a while, so I was browsing the custom sprites topic last night or so, and got inspired to work on something again.

I don't know how face-sets are looked upon here, but here's some Luigi's I started that night and continued to touch-up/add emotions yesterday (I hope they actually upload correctly)

2x zoom

They're not finished yet, I want to add more emotions and maybe an additional blinking snippit for each (I'm used to stationary faces bc RPG Maker) but tell me what you think! I'm not exactly a shading pro so if that's something bugging you, please enlighten me!

I may want to submit these when they're done, but there's no other custom [Luigi] face-sets so I feel a little awkward...

Saint Seiya Rebirth, for Android (.FAssets files)

$

Hey guys, long time no see.

I don't feel very comfortable to "break my silence" with a request, but with such cool stuff to rip I couldn't resist.

This game is called Saint Seiya Rebirth, made by DeNA, inspired by the Saint Seiya franchise, which is super popular in Latin America and "Latin Europe".

It's a Android game. So, I downloaded the APK and extracted the files from it (with a regular zip software, 7zip). Judding by the file names and organization, it seems that the sprites, backgrounds and even sounds are in a ".FAssets" file format.

Does anyone have an idea how to approach this files? They don't open with regular zip softwares and I didn't find anything on the internet.

Thanks!

Extract RomFS from Smash 3DS Update

So, I have the decrypted CIA of the Smash v1.1.6 update, but I can't find anything that will actually extract the romfs file from it. I've tried the PackHack, 3DS Rom Tools... nothing's worked.

Has anyone been able to get into an update CIA and extracted the romfs from it? If you have, let me know what you did and what worked, 'cause I'm at a loss.

Hey everyone, I'm new here, but I'm not really new when it comes to spriting. There are some here that are old and some that were made pretty recently. There are some that use too many colors, but they are pretty old These are only some of what I've done. I just picked 5 random ones.

PlayStation 2 Ripping - Hanjuku Hero

$

Lately I've become enthralled with SquareSoft's "Hanjuku Hero" series and have spent the past two weeks slowly dumping some of the assets for the Super Famicom game "Hanjuku Hero: Aa, Sekaiyo Hanjukunare...!". I'd planned to set my sights on another entry in franchise once I was finished, and curiously found the PlayStation 2 titles.

Although my knowledge of ripping is fairly vast, I've never attempted a PlayStation 2 game before. My understanding is that PlayStation 2 tools are made on a game-by-game basis, and therefore an obscure title like "Hanjuku Hero Tai 3D" or"Hanjuku Hero 4: 7-Jin no Hanjuku Hero" are impossible to rip. I was hoping someone on this forum would have more knowledge on the subject of PlayStation 2 ripping, and as always, any help is greatly appreciated!
