Magical Tetris Challenge Sprite Ripping

Greetings everyone.
For quite some time I've been looking to do some sprite rips of the Tetris variant "Magical Tetris Challenge featuring Mickey", preferably the N64 version (as I don't feel like setting up the PS1 version, and the MAME version is defective since it hides the play field).

However since Project 64 (my emu of choice for N64 games) takes screenshots as JPEGs and doesn't use proper 1:1 pixel-aspect ratio (complete with screenshots taken bleeding the colors), such kind of method for sprite-ripping wouldn't work.

My primary goal is to obtain the full set of block graphics for the Tetriminoes, Pentominos, Counter Pieces, and Overflow Pieces as viewed when they both drop onto a player's play field and when they lock into place.

How many sprites/art projects does it take for you to burn out?

My sister and I have this little inside joke, that Everyone has DP.
Aka: "Drawing Points"

And after you used all your DP, pretty much anything you try to draw or dish out after that becomes garbage quality, because you're burnt out.

This applies to anything the requires drawing, spriting, or painting, or just art in general.
(Maybe I should call it something else eh? w/e)


But yeah, for me, it takes about 5 good frames of sprites, and animation before I burn out.
I've lost the ability to draw on paper, since I erase a lot, and by the end of it, the drawing is pretty much grayscale crap.

How about you guys/girls?
How fast do you burn out, or are you an immortal ART MACHINE!!?

My "Arrow Sign" Model for "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" under the console "Nintendo 64" was rejected Sad I made it in blender, and i thought it looked pretty good.... Does anyone have any idea on what i should do?

MAME ripping question (Background color)

I'm in progress of ripping sprites from various games on Arcade boards with MAME, but there are some problems I'm facing.

On some games, when you press F4 the neutral background color (which will be removed in game) might be something pleasant like green, but on most games it's black.

I'm having problems with my current ripping project as the background and black the game uses are both the same color, so I'd have to use another palette as a base to make the black parts (Which is really time consuming) or I have to guess the pixels, which is not accurate.

Are there way to change palettes in games, or mame versions which might have easier sprite ripping capabilities?

Who actually enjoys this design choice in games? I'm curious. This encompasses the main type of going back to the beginning: You have limited lives and continues, and have to start the entire game over from the beginning if you even want so much as a CHANCE to try the place of failure once more.

I've honestly never heard of anyone enjoying it. Who has that kind of time to waste playing the same stages over and over?

While some enemies are meant to be challenging and annoying, you can't help but enjoy the occasional mook or boss that makes defeating him more of a game than an obstacle. Just tell me about the enemies and bosses you like because they are fun to defeat, appealing in some way, or both!

For me, a recent example is Smog from the Oracle of Ages. His boss battle is more like a game than a difficult fight because it requires me to use the Cane of Somaria in creative ways to force his pieces back together again. I think I had trouble with him in the past, but after fighting him again, I would love to see at least a mini-game created from this.

I typed in "shy guy" and no shy guys came up. When I know for a fact that there are some one there. All that came up was "leader of bad guys" or something like that. What's wrong with it?

Back in the day (as of maybe 5 months ago Tongue ) when you downloaded a sprite sheet, the actual NAME of the character/subject of the sheet would be the name of the file. Recently, when I download a file, the name is just a load of numbers.
Any reason for that??

Okay, so I brought home my mom's old NES from my grandparent's on Friday, but it doesn't work; you know, the flashing power LED and the blinking blue or white screen? Yeah. I cleaned the 72 pin connecter by boiling it in water(yeah I know weird right?), but it still doesn't work. I'm cleaning the motherboard right now, so does anyone have any tips/tricks that will help? They'd be greatly appreciated.

I was browsing a Pokemon forum, and this surprised the fuck out of me. Some fellow has made a program that allows you to convert Pokemon from Gen 2 into a format that is compatible with Gen 3 games and beyond. Same IVs, EVs more or less converted, etc etc. I assumed some of y'all would be interested in it too

Hi, guys! Nice to meet you!

i've sended some models ripped for the game Grand Chase, and they was reject because....

"The model does not load or properly display the textures. Either the model is looking in the wrong place for the textures, or a problem with the UV coordinates is preventing the textures from being displayed correctly. In order for models to properly load textures on anybody's computer, materials must be set up using relative file paths. Some programs export models using absolute file paths, which look fine on your computer but break for everyone else.

Both .DAE and .OBJ formats can easily be edited using any text editor, so texture paths can quickly be changed this way. (.OBJ models have their texture paths stored in .MTL files, so edit these instead.) "

So, i think that i have just to add the .mtl file right? (i removed the .mtl in the submission because i just don't know that it was necessary)

the UV Maps Works great in my computer like Perdian Says, and i dont need the Mtl for it, like he said too.

so, i have a question: Can I send that models again, if i fix it? i'm new in the forum and i don't know all the rules of submissions

(and sorry for my bad english, is because is not my natural language.)

Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, World Models

Hello VG-Resource!

I'm working on getting all the worlds from Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage.

I used MrModez's SpyroWorld tool to get all the worlds in an .OBJ file format, however, the way they're extracted is...... not so understanding, have a look for yourself.

So, I've decided to sort out these worlds myself, at the moment I only have Hurricos, but I'm going to be working on others soon.
