Problem with ripping etc1(a4) and transparency

Hey guys, this is sort of a repost from GBAtemp because I've had no replies there. The link is here but I'll describe it again.

I'm using the program Ohana3DS Rebirth to rip textures from the character models for Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, and it seems they're all etc1(a4) encoded. The weird thing is, the alpha channel (transparency) seems tied to each pixel's brightness, so the darker spots are more transparent; a bunch of spots are completely transparent.

On the right is that .png flattened to 100% opacity, showing the "gaps".

So the obvious question is "What can I do about this", but more specifically, is this a feature/problem with etc1(a4) encoding or is it the program I'm using?

I've edited some of them by selecting portions and changing the hues, then reinserted them into the game. It works okay, except some of these gaps are showing up as black. You can see them on Link's palms, and a few little bits around the brim of his cap:

So far, I've managed to get some very nice looking heads (both cutscene and in game) & guns out of the game with minimal problem, but all other body parts come out with whatever vertex deformations they had while the game was running. I'd like to not have to try and piece together a body from the mess of polygons doing this results in, so...

tl:dr, does anyone have any action replay / gecko codes to force T-pose (Or stop animations from running) to get clean rips from it?

Been using ninjaripper just in case anyone was curious.

NieR: Automata

Hello!

I'm trying to rip the NieR: Automata models but after unpacking the .cpk files in the game, I get .dat files, which when unpacked gives me .wmb files.

I've read around the internet that his is common in Platinum's games, and that people open .wmb files with Noesis 3D using specific plugins (at least in Legend of Korra and Metal Gear). People even managed to open Transformers: Devastation's wmb files in Noesis using the Korra plugin, but I can't manage to open them at all (when trying to export I get a "The file type could not be determined" message).

Here are some sample .wmb files I ripped from NieR: Automata if anyone wants to give it a try.

there is a wii game i was interested in looking into the textures of, but i dont know how to rip them in general.
i have access to the iso already so thats taken care of, i just need a good place to start in terms of how to rip.

Hello, VG Resource! I love ripping sounds and voice clips from games, so i decided to show you what I am going to rip, and what I ripped so far.

Here are a list of games i plan to rip from (some of which are currently pending right now)

Hello all, for the past three months I've been working on my game. For now, its just gonna be called Nether, as i seriously don't have a name for it this early on in development. It is a platformer roguelite with puzzle elements (wow much original). As of now, I have the all the programming for the player/controls/inputs/sprites done, and is fully testable. (Controls explained inside the game) Feedback is GREATLY appreciated, as it helps me out a heck lot. I will listen to all feedback and requests, as i want the best for my game. Thank you

Hey, I'm trying to find the Zelda model from the Hyrule Warriors Legends files, I have the linkdata.bin extracted but now I just have a ton of files with no clue as to where to start looking for the model I want. Does anyone here have any experience with Hyrule Warriors Legends models? If so will you help me find the Zelda model and Texutures?

New: So I looked into the mdl files from hyrule warriors and saw that they are MDLK does anyone here know anything about MDLK?
I can only find information/decompilers for regular MDL files not the MDLK format and I don't know how to make my own decompiling tool.

Hey, Sorry to brag but I'm having trouble finding out what the hell to do with these. I imported the raw data into Audacity and through the static I can KIND OF make out a few voice clips from the soundbank for Bomberman Jetters. Apparently Wario World uses the same format for it's sounds but I don't know of any real program that could extract these. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Just looking for more info if possible?

So, short-long history: I managed to get a game-quality (in other words, it was a native screenshot size of a DS game), and got a sprite from there. Technically this sprite is not used in-game nor it resides in the game data (afaik) but even so, it is a sprite of an unreleased version of the game. Can I post it alongside the other game sprites? Thanks~
