Before you yell at me calling me an idiot, I DO see that icon to add an image. I'm just not clear on what type of URL to put in the text box thingy. Someone please help. I've tried and apparently it was an invalid URL.

It's an edit of Cream the Rabbit turned into Oswald the Lucky Rabbit (Disney character). I'd like some feedback on his sprites please. Tongue
Thanks.

(I know the sheet's small, I'm new here so I don't know how to fix that (And no, I did not add running))

Quest Viewer - viewing game resources

Quest Viewer is the program intended for viewing of games resources. At the moment the program supports more than 250 games among which there is "Deponiya", "Infinite summer", "Siberia", "A black mirror", games on Ren'Py engine, etc. The list of games is constantly expanding!

The main genre of the supported games is 2D advenchure (Quest) since initially the program was created for viewing of games only of this genre. But now we try not to be limited by genre. Each game before addition in the list is checked therefore it is difficult to add all supported games.

QuestViewer supports viewing of graphic, sound and text resources, it has a convenient interface for time-lapse viewing of animation. There is also a possibility of viewing of animation and images in the full-screen mode with different types of scaling. Any graphic resource can be exported to any known format (PNG, JPG, BMP, etc.). For export of animation by means  of small editor provided in the program it is possible to save animation in GIF, JPG, PNG formats, or to write a plugin for export to other format.

Except viewing of resources, there is a number of useful tools in the program, such as sorting of resources, display list of resources and information on archive in HTML/TXT, the editor of animation etc.

Opportunities
- Viewing of graphic, sound and text resources of games
- Full-screen viewing of graphic resources
- Convenient viewing of animation
- Scaling of the image
- Sorting of resources by format, size and by name
- The filter of resources on format, type
- Export of both separate shots, and all animation in GIF, PNG, JPEG formats
- Export of sound resources
- Export of all resources from archive (Dump)
- A displaying of the resources list in HTML and TXT
- Support of plugins

System of plugins
QuestViewer supports expansions in the form of the plugins allowing to add support of others games and to export graphically resources to other formats. The plugin in QuestViewer represents a script in the Python programming language. For installation of a plugin it is enough to move *.py script to the plugins folder in a program root.
If the plugin is added to a repository on the website, then it can be installed by means of the Plugin Manager literally with a couple of clicks.

If you are familiar with some programming languages (or cQuickBMS), you can easily write a plugin for the program. The small tutorial on plugin writing is on the program website.
Creating plugins, you make a huge contribution to development of the program! For addition of a plugin on the website it is necessary just to fill a small form and to load a script.

There is a small list of tools which are now under development. But this list is incomplete. There are much more interesting ideas which we want to realized. Among them there is a support of third-party tools in the form of plugins and support of 3D models.

P.S. If the structure of resources of some 2D game with "interesting" graphics is known to you, share, please. It is possible to contact me through a form on the website.
P.P.S. Support of text resources will appear in the following version of the program!

Want help making UV textures on a model not ugly

So I have the MM3ds skull kid model but I'm not very good at UV editing and I'm having trouble getting the body textures correct. So I'm looking for someone who can UV edit the model to make the textures looks good.

Short disclaimer: I am not going to submit this model to models resource this model is to import into smash 3ds. Full credit will be given to anyone who will fix the UV textures for me when my model import is complete.

Please PM me if you'll help me fix the models UVs, so I can send you the model and the textures.

Thank you for reading my request. Smile

Submitting cleaned-up models

I often download models from here for my personal use and for reference. I use blender, and the first thing I do after downloading it is to to open it up and start cleaning it up. Stiching things, grouping relevant object, applying missing or broken materials and texture, etc. Basically making it fit for use in Blender. I'm sure all of us have to go through this.

I felt like I should share the blend files so that others can make use of them. So my question is this. Is there any place to upload these? For example, if I wanted to include these in the original zip files for download, how should I go about it? Contact the original uploader? Is it allowed? Should I even bother?

Help ripping Blasterball 3 Models

I'm trying to rip models from this Arkanoid/Breakout clone called Blasterball 3 and when I go into the game's models directory [C:\Program Files (x86)\WildTangent Games\Games\Blasterball3\data\art\models] there are 2 folders [bosses and interface] so I pick interface and then a folder called wtintro (the intro logo) and instead of 3d model files, sprites, textures or something I instead get the following files [mod, wkz, dds, scn]. I only know that dds is a texture file for direct draw surface, but all of these files I cannot open. (screenshot is attached to this thread)

Need help to extract a *.dat file from a game's archive

$

I'm still a newbie and I'm trying to get some files from an archived *.dat game file. The game's name is Edgar Torronteras Extreme Biker (also known as Moto-X 2000). It's an old motocross racing game which came out about 18 years ago.

So far, I've had success in extracting graphical (bitmap) and audio data from a different *.dat file using Dragon Unpacker, but strangely I can't get the complete resources from this other *.dat file using any archive ripping program including Dragon Unpacker. I've tried all sorts of archive extraction programs.

I know the archive contains the files with their appropriate extensions and file types in the archive. If I open the main exe program file using notepad, it tells me some of the file names contained in the archived *.dat file. What I need are the race-track files (extension of *.wld) and the custom objects/meshes which were created by an old version of 3d Studio Max R2 (with a *.jm5 extension).

It's one of my favorite games and I want to make custom tracks, but I need the object files like the stadium, haybales, flags, etc. All the websites that used to support this old game are all gone. I know this one *.dat archive has it all. I've been trying for a while but no success [Image: icon_e_sad.gif]

The file size is about 240MB. If anybody's willing to take a look, the download links are below without the quotations and brackets:

Thanks!!!

Is there any way at all to rip Paper Mario: TTYD maps?

$

I've been digging for months about this topic but to no avail. I've even ventured to the second page of Google (I know.)

Some notes:
1) File extensions are nameless
2) Map geometry appears to be stored in a folder titled "m," and each map has more different files (c, d, s, and t)

It's a 13 year old game, and yet documentation is so primitive.

Ripping Sprites From an LCD Game

$

There is something called a POP Station, which was initially a PSP knock off LCD console with games similar to Tiger Electronic Handheld LCD games, only worse. The term POP Station is usually used for a system that plays one or more versions of POP Station games, which are usually made to look like something other than what they actually are. They can have games via interchangeable screens, through a rotating series of screens, or just one built into the thing. The systems are built quite poorly and the ones with interchangeable screens tend to be the worse and not detect when you change the game. Often times the boxes contains screen shots from different games (sometimes they are literally pictures of paintings), but they sometimes also contain a listing of all the possible screen positions. One more thing I should mention is that the sometimes have a background that is literally just a picture stuck behind the animation screen (again think Tiger Electronics) that often makes no sense to the game and may sometimes make it impossible to see the game.

Anyway, I found some videos of different POP Stations on YouTube and wanted to rip the sprites from said videos to use in a homebrew Sega Genesis game that "ports" them to said console. I was thinking of just extracting each frame and manually ripping them that way.

Is there a better way to do this?

Hello! I have been a spectator without an account on this site for a long time, and I'd like to finally show some edits I made! I can also do original sprites rather well, but right now, I'll just show this.
Can this be accepted, or does it violate some rules?
