Hi. I've been tryna find a way I can rip models from the game Bomberman Land Wii. Unfortunately, unlike many Wii games, it doesn't use the .BRRES format. ? So, Im kinda stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

PS. In particular, I am looking for a model of Pretty Bomber to use for a project of mine. In addition, I really want to get my hands on models of the Five Dastardly Bombers.

Bootlegs, Unlicensed, and Hacked games, what are the differences?

For a long time now, I've seen this being discussed in the comments section of games that are not considered "official". I am probably guilty of starting this trend of just tagging everything that isn't licensed as "bootleg", and I really need to sort of educate everyone what exactly is the difference.

Bootleg
A bootleg game is an unauthorized port of a game to another console, an unauthorized romhack of a game that was distributed illegally, or a completely original game that is stealing assets from something else.

https://www.spriters-resource.com/nes/rollingthunder/
This is an illegal version of Rolling Thunder for the arcade, ported to the NES without Nintendo's permission.

https://www.spriters-resource.com/nes/po...owbootleg/
This is a romhack of Felix The Cat on NES, replacing it with Pikachu. This was distributed on Famicom cartridges illegally throughout Taiwan and possibly Russia.

https://www.spriters-resource.com/nes/po...erbootleg/
This as far as I'm aware, is a completely original game but is using copyrighted characters without Nintendo's permission.

Unlicensed
An unlicensed game is simply put, a game that was developed for the console but was not given a license by the console's holder for various reasons.

https://www.spriters-resource.com/nes/raid2020bootleg/
One of Color Dreams' many infamous games, possibly not licensed because it doesn't meet Nintendo's quality standards (whatever those may have been at that time)

https://www.spriters-resource.com/nes/rockballbootleg/
A game made by a Chinese company that was produced possibly long after the initial run of the Famicom.

https://www.spriters-resource.com/nes/qu...odbootleg/
A game developed by Code Masters who presumably did not want to pay the license fee but still wanted to distribute their games.

https://www.spriters-resource.com/nes/linesbootleg/
An unlicensed game made in Russia somewhere in the 2000's, again long after the Famicom's original release.

Hacks
A hack is a modified version of a game's ROM or ISO, changing of the graphics, sound, or even gameplay entirely. Hacks are usually not sold within mass markets unless they were added to a pirated game system.

https://www.spriters-resource.com/nes/th...enderhack/
A romhack of Wolverine where you play as... the LJN Defender? Beating up the Angry Video Game Nerd!?

A big question that some people may ask is where Action 52 falls. The games were original (although inspired by some games) so you may think it's simply unlicensed. That isn't totally the case though, because some of the music was actually stolen from an Atari ST game called "The Music Studio"
Therefore, Action 52 has plagiarized content in it, making it a bootleg.

Used these sprite rips as bases

I will post these on the pages for the games. Reason I am posting them here is because a lot of people, including myself, never knew that these characters had a game.

I re-did the Doug sprites to make him only 3 colors, so that he could be compatible with an actual NES. I just added on to his and Porkchop's sprite sheets from the Gameboy game. For Snoopy, I took his sprites from the NES game and put the head on some Megaman sprites and re-colored them. Used the Super Mario sprites as a reference.

Should I release raw BF3/BF4 FRD assets?

So, I've been holding a lot of assets back from the public lately. I have raw assets from Free Radical's Star Wars Battlefront III and IV! I've backed up the assets to my MEGA, I've been debating to release it to the public or keep it private. Which is why, I have started this poll thread. If all votes are a yes, the assets will be released, if all votes are a no, assets will be kept private.

(This will be my first thread to have a poll, if for some odd reason there is no attached poll, it be fine if you replied to this post with Yes or No answers)

(P.S. please don't punish me for this admins/moderators, if this post goes against any rules, please delete this thread if needed)

Dragon Quest VII 3DS Model Texture/Material Issue!

I seem to come across a pretty big issue with the Dragon Quest VII models after being exported as .dae files and when opened in programs other than SPICA. The facial textures and materials (for the eyes and mouth) disappear. But in SPICA, all textures and models appear. The texture/material visibility issue was also a problem in Ohana3DS, but I extracted the .lz file with FEAT (Fire Emblem Archive Tool) and opened the extracted file in Spica. When opened in Blender, it only shows three textures and three materials (not the missing facial materials), same goes for PMX editor when the models are exported as .pmx from Blender.

Help would be really appreciated.

Hey all,

I'm ripping from Disney's arcade game Fix-It Felix Jr. based off the movie, Wreck-It Ralph.
The arcade machine is actually just a Windows computer running the game, which is an exe.

I want to know if I should submit the sprites and sounds to the PC/Computer section or the Arcade section.

Thanks.

PSX SuperSponge's Spongebob Sprites

Alright.
Since nobody apparently wants to rip the PSX Spongebob, I'm gonna do it.
Since there ain't much stuff to go from, I have to use the highest-quality screenshots in order to even get his jump animation.
All I have is the stand animation:
Literally, that's all I have.
And it's taken from this:

Hopefully I can get at least half of Spongebob's animations.

+ It's likely in the wrong folder.

Please do not ask me how I got this stuff nor the developers and their names either, the way I got this stuff remains secret still. Anyways, I bet a lot of people will get great use from all this!

Ripping more character models from Super Mario Party?

It's been several months since the last batch of Super Mario Party models were submitted, and so far, out of the 20 characters in the game there are currently 11 ripped (Boo, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Daisy, Dry Bones, Luigi, Mario, Rosalina, Shy Guy, Waluigi, Yoshi) alongside 3 non-playable characters (King Bob-Omb, Penguin, Toadette). I was wondering when the remaining 9 playable characters (Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong, Goomba, Hammer Bro, Koopa Troopa, Monty Mole, Peach, Pom Pom, Wario) will be ripped, so we can have the full playable cast from the game. It would be great to see the rest eventually!

Playstation 2 Sprite Ripping Tutorial

Here's a tutorial I made how to rip Playstation 2 sprites (this can somewhat rip textures too).

You''ll need:
PS2 Emulator
Tiled GGD (I use the PE version)

Step 1.
Load up TiledGGD and PCSX2.

Step 2.
On the PCSX2, choose what game you want, save state the game in a specific location were you want to rip the sprites.

Step 3.
Open up you're save states (sstates) and look for your save state file (It should be the same name for the bin or cue file).

Step 4.
Like the original playstation, turn the file into a 7z file (Winrar should be recommended to open these files). Name you're file whatever you want.

Step 5.
Extract the file, then there will be ALOT of files you need to go for, you'll need to open up the eeMemory.bin file.

Step 6.
Load up TiledGGD.

Step 7.
Put the eeMemory.bin file into TiledGGD.
Once you put the file into TiledGGD, this actually looks normal as the graphics on the file.
Step 8.
If you want to look for the graphics, it takes time to look for the files. And a note to that, each graphics has a different bpp (bits per pixel)
Here a bit of information if you want to look for the graphics. (for each PS2 game):
4bpp (16 colors)
8bpp (256 colors)
16bpp
24bpp
Here's some examples that I took:
[Image: 3.png](24bbp) [Image: 5.png](8bpp)

Step 9.
Lastly, finding the palette. If you want to find the palette, I'll show you an easier way. Go in the graphics viewer, set the graphics to 16bbp (For 16 color images) or 32bbp (For 256 color images), set it to little endian (i'm using PE because it fixes bugs on it). Because it's much larger than the normal palette, you can find it easier! Once you look for it, and there you go! You found the palette that's much easier to find. Now look for that palette in the normal palette viewer. Paste the graphics once you got everything you need paste it into art editor program (like Paint.NET)

MonadoBoy16's sound rip discoveries

I'm going to post some interesting things when I ripped sounds.

I'll do the first two. NOTE: this will be updated when I see more sounds.

Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion XL (WII)
This game was my first sounds rips on the Sounds Resource, now here are some interesting things I discovered

HIM
I discovered, that, HIM (Yes, I put his name in all caps because that's HIM from the PowerPuff Girls), has two files that have the same sound. you wanna know why, he still contains his assist sound in the games files.

Veerdle Brothers
This is a more confusing one, when you look in the files, it says octa. At first, I thought it was a placeholder name, until I looked up, and he is from the Veerdle Brothers.

Nicktoons Unite (GCN)
Obviously, this is more interesting, when you play Nicktoons Unite, you notice that the cutscenes are in game, well, GUESS WHAT, All of the audio for the cutscenes are in the games files, but also, they're Played individually, I also noticed lots of unused dialogue.

I know this is going to be impossible for anyone to get to share with anyone but does anyone in this world that includes the planet & animal if anyone everywhere has the Lola Bunny from the Space Jam Game for the Playstation and Sega Satan I mean really you can rip sprites from lots of Fighting games but you can't rip sprites from a simple sport game like the Space Jam game, logic!
