(OH SNAP I HAVE A NEW SPRITE THREAD OHMYGOSH)

Blarghle I made so many random sprites.

Some I worked harder on others, but Critique on any of them is appreciated nevertheless.

Kind of a betemup style Mario, along with some other random stuf from the series. As most of you have seen from most of my sprites I don't do human/oid characters that often, so of course this one's the worst one here. >~<

Kirby and Meta Knight! I sprite Kirby way too much, and I did the best on this one really. XD Meta, however, is the 2nd worst one here IMO, mainly because I can't get the sword right and it looks like he's wearing white baking gloves. I made jokes about it in a chat yesterday...Also large image .-.

I'm sorry about putting this topic up before and then deleting it. I was hesitant and I'm pretty sure I messed everything up, so I'll try again.

I'm working on my own 2D metroidvania in Game Maker. I've made it through a lot of pitfalls such as the design flaws and I also learned a lot about programming over the past few months.

The main problem now is that I wanted my sprites to be 16-bit SNES style, but I eventually realized how horrible it was. So after making them 8-bit NES style instead, I was amazed how much easier they were to manage. I was hoping if I could get some feedback and maybe some tips. Even though I'm not the artistic type, I'm going to have to fill that role if I want to create my own content.

First, let me start off with an update to a model I recently submitted...

When I first submitted the Machop model for Pokémon Battle Revolution, I failed to notice that the sides of the model were uneven. The left side of the model didn't quite match the verticies of the right side. So, I managed to fix the model with Blender using the mirror modifier, and update the icons.

So there are people who are for furthering the concept of putting humans into digital worlds, so that they can experience the game as if they were literally there, while the other side of the fence is that games shouldn't get too realistic. What is your position, and why do you feel this way?

SNES sprite ripping help.

So, I've been trying to rip sir meta knight from kirby super star, But I find that the Hotkey way to do it(one frame at a time) is kinda time wasting, And I can end up missing sprites, Does ANYBODY know a program that can veiw ROM images, If someone could, I'd be more than grateful.Cry

Favorite controller!?

I'm pretty sure you've played a lot of consoles, but do you sometimes feel like you'd play it's games better if you had a different controller? I get that feeling a lot when I'm playing a Xbox 360 or Nintendo 64(mostly because of the weird D-pad and joystick on standard 360 controllers and the design of the Nintendo 64 controller itself).

Here's the controllers I play best with:

Classic Controller and Pro Version - It's D-pad and buttons are awesome!!

Wii Remote & Nunchuck - Only with 3D games, but I think it's better than the WiiU GamePad and Gamecube controllers.('cause I don't even need to have my hands up to use it Tongue)

Gamecube Controller - If I can't play with a Wiimote + Nunchuck, this is the next best thing.

Non-Microsoft Xbox 360 Controllers - They seem to always be better than the standard ones for some reason.

Help ripping Toy Story Racer (PS1) Track Models

Hey there, it's me again.
So, I play a RC racing game that is very customizable and that means custom cars and tracks.
I thought the tracks in Toy Story Racer for the PS1 would be fun enough to play in that game so I thought on ripping the models for it.

One thing I know, I can't use 3D Ripper DX because, you know, you can't do it with the PS1 emulator because it will rip a flat 2D model.

So, instead of the usual ripping, I thought of looking at the game files inside the game.
the level files are in .RAW, .DAT and .TER format, and the players are in .MDL and .ANM format (which probably stand for "model" and "animation").
If anyone is up to "explore" the track files, below are the track files for the Mall level.

I really think the model file is the RAW one, however, we need to know how to get it.

medabots ax vs medarot g

they use the same game engine and stages i do how ever think that medarot g has vastly superior sprites. the sprites in ax looked rushed and there proportions seem off a bit and there colors are really bad. as well medabots ax seems to be zoomed in alot making the stages look disproportionate to the bots and the medabots just look odd due to it.

medarot g has better proportions in there sprites the color pallet is richer and looks better and it isent as zoomed in in terms of sprites i say medarot g is better. but i cant speak for the games story or the gameplay as it was never translated so if someones played both id love to hear your thoughts

This is where I will put my models that need just a bit of a fixer-upper. Feel free to give me a hand!

So far, I only have one that needs fixing. Apparently, from what Peardian told me, there's a problem in 3DSMax that causes her hands to move away from her body when posing her. (I have not encountered the problem in Blender, and since I can't afford 3DSMax, that's why I'm leaving it here for others to help me out with)

So I entered a minigame competition from a small community (called MFGG) and I this game (previously Windows PC). Somehow after winning the competition I have managed to get extra motivations and ported/expanding it on Android. I hereby present you:

What I have done in this game:
- Some classic GB styled side scrolling shooter game
- Ability to switch between classic black/white mode (like the original Game Boy) or Enhanced Game Boy palettes (default)
- Added vibration (haptic) controls and you can turn them off if you want
- Adjustable on screen controls (by size)
- Google Play Games (leaderboard/achievement) system support (soon available on my next pending update in Google Play)
- And more I am planning to add!!

I have yet another problem. I recently downloaded NDSheader(it lets you extract files from the rom) And I managed to extract Kirby Super Star Ultra. Here's the thing though, I'll give you some examples. There's .SRL files, There's .VX files, there's .SDAT files, and I don't know how to open them, I don't know of a program that can. Please Help!!!!
