a palette challenge... alien... thing.

I posted this on the previous site a long time ago. I'm not really an expert at spriting and I also understand that people have lives outside of the forums, but I wanted someone to sprite my character for TFR.

I know that I can sprite myself, but I dont have the time necessary to make it. I also really want my character to be in it too. If anyone is willing to sprite my ref, I will send you various information about the move sets and other necessary stuff. I am willing to give something in exchange.

ITS NOT MONEY.

I'll make you wonderful art drawings (not the best thing in the world but hey at least I'll spill my heart out making it).

So could anyone please accept this request for me. I understand if anyone doesnt want to do this for what ever reason. Thank you.

CD1 - The model file that SC5P2 uses,
It may seem obscure at first but if you open it in a hex editor its really a Ninja Chunk Model file.

Step 1. Extract the contents of cdball.afs with Puyo Tools.

Step 2. Open enm_re.cd1 in a hex editor (I recommend HxD) and delete anything before NJCM then save as a .NJ file.

Step 3. Open the newly created NJ file in Noesis then extract as obj (for no bones), fbx or dae (for bones).

That's the model in a generic model file readable by many model editors but there are no textures,
That's because the PVM file is inside the CD1 file.

Step 1. Search the CD1 file for PVMH and delete anything above it.

Step 2. Save as a .PVM file.

Step 3. Open the .PVM file in Puyo Tools and save the PVR files as png files.

So now you have a red Morolian rigged and ready to go.

Hello, everyone. I'm trying to rip a few character models from Sega's zombie shoot-'em-up game, The House of the Dead 4, from Playstation 3's PSN store. I obtained the .pkg file, extract the archive files inside, figured out which of those archives had the info for the characters I wanted, and(somehow)managed to extract the files inside those archives, via QuickBMS(while barely knowing what I was doing, btw.). That's as far as I've managed to get. Now I need a way to convert the HMDL models I have into a more useable file format, such as .obj. If necessary, I can post a text link to my dropbox account which has the file archives for the characters I wanted. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

P.S.
The model files I have are HMDL, but upon closer inspection in a Hex editor, at the very bottom, the model's character name along with the extension ".cno" can be seen(i.e. "zb03a0_ur_empress.cno"). Which means that the model could actually be a .cno model file, though I'm not 100% sure about this.

yep, I'm back. Since daemoth is ripping all the well-known SNES-RPGs, I decided to go for lesser known titles.

So I was writing out all the BBCode for my model thread, and I was like "This is going to take forever!" So I decided to write up a quick script for doing that easily.

Basically, this is an update to an older script I had written in Python. I rewrote it in HTML so it could be easily accessed by any one who needed it. All you do is put in all the information it needs (Name, Download Link, and Big and Small images.) And it'll spit out BBCode.

What this script has is that you can do multiple submissions at once now. Up to five submissions at a time is supported. Currently it works, but I plan to have a more intuitive interface soon.

I made these sprites myself for the game Little Fighter 2, with the exception of the face pic that I took from the internet and edited. Based them on one of the original LF2 characters. Feel free to use them (but please give credit).

I also made sprites for Goku Super Saiyan form. The old ones are already present on this website. However, if you want the finished sprites, I will have to put them together in a file. Just let me know if you wish to have those.

Well once again searching has proved to be useless and I have to outright ask for help. I would think this would be a bit easier than some considering the archive format was figured out long ago. The models on the other hand are still a mystery. Can someone have a look and see if they can make any sense of these?

I have used tilesets from this site in the past.
I am using tilesets from Star Wars Battleground ripped a long time ago.
I have also a lot of tileset that I have made.
How do I post them on this site? How do you submit? Do you need to post them elsewhere?
What format do they need to be in? What are the steps? Help!

Hopefully I'm not too out of place. I'm a programmer and not an artist.  I was interested in art when I was younger, but didn't have the patience to become better at it.  I was always more interested in math subjects.

I've played video games for nearly 30 years and I appreciate the skill of the artists involved in them. I found this site a year or so ago while doing research on creating sprite art for a side project.  I had a primary project fall through and I decided to accelerate my side project.

I'm looking to build contacts with people that are interested in creating art for video games. I know I could just post in the Commissions section, but I thought it would be rude of me.  I'm looking for longer term friendships and not just contract work.

I've been very introverted most of my life, so please forgive me if I come off as a little awkward. I decided I needed to be more social and look for more friendships to be able to achieve what I want.

Check out this banking company that tried to make a peripheral for the SNES. never got released, but it was a nice experiment I guess. look at these fuckin nerds

there's a level in the snes game "magical quest 3 starring mikey and donald"

"Stage 5: Shell Ocean" where a special effect is applied.

the level has been ripped and available in vgmaps but with the special effect.

can anyone give me a hint or two on how to rip this level without the special effect.

many thanks this special effect is driving me crasy.

RatchetMario has stated that the tools needed to rip Wii U games are now public, so I felt it would be appropriate to make a thread for Wii U model ripping.

Similar to the general 3DS ripping thread, feel free to post which games you are going to rip from, post your rips, model scripts/programs, etc.

Me, I'll obviously be ripping from Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101 as soon as I get the files for them, but I'll try to get some models from other games too, such as Smash 4 or Mario Kart 8.

Well, since we already have two other catch-all threads, I believe we also need one for Unity games that use models (not those that are exclusively sprites).

Feel free to posts games that you are planning on ripping from. Don't forget to post your rips and the tools you used too!
