2 things to request for

0
0
I would like to request 2 elements ripped from their Wii U games which are Mario Kart 8 and the Zelda Halloween special warrior game. The first one I want ripped is the Delfino Airport race course track where that is located at the pacific ocean between Canada and Alaska. Another one I want ripped is the monsterized variant of Midna from that game as well as the True form that would have to be downloaded from the Nintendo servers.

I would look myself and probably will given enough time, but I am doing a school project and am considering my options. I don't need the model itself, just a direct view of the t pose

A Spritesheet Like... Mirror's Edge?

I don't know if this is a request or not, but I'm not really looking for a game or something to have graphics ripped from (I may be able to do that myself).

But I'm looking for... Inspiration? Like, I would like to know a game, namely a 2d sidescroller of some kind, with graphics with a similar aesthetic to Mirror's Edge.

Something clean, utopian, and sort of a 'beautiful future' more than a desolate or bleak one.

Something a bit like this (sadly a single mockup screenshot and not from a real game):

Lots of whites, greys, steely blues, etc.

If there's an existing sheet that someone knows of, please direct me to it! Alternatively, if there's a 2d sidescroller with similar aesthetics, please tell me about it and I'll rip the graphics myself (if I can) and share them with here!

Simplistic Extraction Script?

Here's a little problem. There's 3DS-types clearly visible in a hex scanning of the attached file. I was wondering if there was a simple way to just have something run through and spit out the contained files so they can be easily readable? The contained files are not compressed even, just archived in these bigger ones.

I have bad news, everyone! I will leave this forum for 3-4 months because of school.. I won't be able to submit sprites/models/sounds/textures.. That doesn't mean I won't submit them forever..
Bye and have a good day.. :'(

A new non-requesting start

When I first came here... I've been doing nothing but request stuff and spam, spam, spam, and that makes me feel foolish.
Well, I'm here to change that. No more requesting stuff, it's all going to be about being grateful.

So what do you say? Friends?

anyone have any idea what .onz files do and how to open them?

EDIT: I have successfully decompressed the onz file. It gave me .one files. I tried the one unpacker for sonic heroes, but it came out corrupt

I found this in an old game

I'm trying to rip a wrestler model to review from WWF No Mercy But Having no Luck.

"hey wait a minute Omega can draw?" you might be saying. "he's not very good" and you'd be right!

Here is a sample of things I do of free leisure when not shackled to the uh oppression of tyranny and stuff?

I will take up to 5 Requests and until all 5 are done no more will be open to claim.
Just don't give me absurd huge Vincent van gogh baloney or characters that need a microscope to get all the fine details on.

also

if you want me to draw a character from a series give me a reference to work with

1.Draw Mario being cool or something, use memes, sounds like quirby64 wants Mario gear solid 2
2.A dwarf with a giant bee filled honeypot on his back riding a rhino beetle, these requests are strange
3.Draw Harpie Lady from Yugioh??? nesting in a hen house with confused hens looking at her.

Folklore model.bin_

Well i got impatient and decided to get a hand of a Folklore download in an attempt to find models. Inside the download i found a file called model.bin_ which was about 2.8 gigabytes. I was forced to split the file into 18 160 MB files and when i finally looked through them with notepad, all there was was nothing but unlegible text.
I have no idea what to even do next. Any ideas?

Tron Bonne or "Wreck-It Ralph" Characters?

Hi there!

Just wondering if anyone out there might be able to rip the textures and polygon models for Tron Bonne (either the Mega Man Legends or The Misadventures of Tron Bonne version, I don't mind) for the original PlayStation or any of the characters from Wreck-It Ralph (especially Fix-It Felix Jr.) for the Nintendo Wii? I'm trying to design some models of those characters of my own and need some good references to work with.

Thanks in advance for anyone willing to help. Smile

Majoras Mask 3DS Rips

There's this guy who goes by Twili over at Facepunch who has the MM3D file system and gave a download to the game's models folder.

http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1450844

There's a program called N3DSCmbViewer.exe that you can view Ocarina of Time 3DS models with, and export them as .dae(s).

There's also a program called mm2oot.exe that allows you to take the .cmb models and convert the Majora's Mask 3DS files into OOT models, and then you can export them into DAEs. So now we have access to like, every main model in MM3DS, and I've got a few of them exported already...

So what do I do with them? Anyone else here want to help add them to the site?

The main reason I want to see them here is because I suck at modeling and I really want to see a lot of these characters up on Brawl Vault so I can use them in Smash Bros.

As a note, I would like to mention that I don't care for any kind of credit for these. If nobody else will spend the time converting and uploading them, however, I will, if only because I really want to see them on the Brawl Vault. So with this information, please, do what you will with these models.

If someone could tell me how to submit them I'll gladly get started.

The Spriter's Toolkit

What is it?
This project started out as just a simple program that extracted tilesets from game maps, but since I've started a few more coding projects along the same line, and I'm learning Qt, I've decided to pack all my mini tools into a GUI suite that I'm calling The Spriter's Toolkit. There are currently three tools in the works which, when used separately, operate by changing settings in an INI file and then dragging files onto them to make them run; not very user-friendly. The GUI is going to remedy that, though the current method really isn't that hard.

I'm making these small tools as part of my new "lots of pots" approach to programming, so I'm gonna be making a bunch of little tools as practice and then packing them together. Each one is named for its function, as one would expect. Here's the designs I have so far:

Tigestion:
This is my tileset "digester". Tigestion takes an image and breaks it into chunks, then compares each chunk and keeps only the unique ones, deleting all repeats, and then saving the remainders into a new sheet. I got the idea after doing my Metroid: Zero Mission tile rips, since pulling them directly from the RAM gave me a bunch of duplicate tiles, which made the sets look bigger than they really were. The tool also works on maps from games, breaking the landscape apart and extracting the unique tiles right out of them. It can also be used for sprite sheets to eliminate repeated frames to allow people to examine the individual frames better, or to edit one and paste it over all the same ones.

Here's a mockup for this one.

SNEStify:
This one's a palette adjuster that was originally just meant to make color palettes compatible with SNES by making each color value a multiple of eight, but I figured it'd be nice to allow that value to be changed, as well as to set minimum and maximum color values, and even divide by arbitrary amounts. I designed it to quickly convert all my existing sprites to my new color rules, but I think others may find more uses for it.

Palomine:
Takes a given palette and applies it to an image. It works by comparing each color in an image and checking it against the given palette, then assigning it to the nearest color in the palette. For instance, a photograph could be quickly altered to look like an NES picture by matching it to the NES palette. Used in conjunction with SNEStify, any image could look like an authentic retro console splash screen.

Does the look of the DKC series match the gameplay?

0

I've been thinking about Sonic's appeal versus Mario's appeal and it also made me think a lot about Donkey Kong. As you all know I love DK with a passion, but always questioned why no one else did. Sure people can love the games as, well, games but few people love DK the way they love Sonic or Mario. The only people who do are a small minority on the DKVine. But I think I'm starting to understand why.

Let's look at Mario's design as a character: He's simple, humble, and approachable. Now look at his world: Its very basic, simple, blocky, and to the point.

The design matches the gameplay perfectly. His character and world make sense for the type of game you're playing. And when the gameplay changes (like in Super Mario Sunshine) so does the design of the world. It becomes more realistic and livable looking to compliment the exploration based gameplay.

Now let's look at Sonic: He's sleek, sharp, cool and edgy while still being child friendly. Now look at his world: It's sleek, unruly, and edgy while still being child friendly.

The design matches the gameplay. Unfortunately after the Genesis era Sonic didn't know what it wanted to do but still stayed successful based on the character's personality and look alone. Could Donkey Kong get away with what Sonic has for so many years? Making shit games and yet still making money and having tons of passionate fans? HELL NO!

So now I thought about DK. His character design, his world design, and the mixed messages it might send to audiences. What am I talking about?

Well let's look at DK's design as a character: He's big, heavy, and bulky looking guy while also being kind of silly and goofy. Now his world: It's natural, realistic, and detailed. Wait what? Cartoony ape... realistic world?

Moving on to the gameplay. It's a hop and bop platformer similar to Mario. While it has some exploration elements, at its core its about careful platforming and getting to point A to point B. This doesn't match the character's look nor the look of the world AT ALL!

A big bulky character like DK doesn't suggest a fast paced platformer like DKC. He seems to look like he belongs in a game about cartoony action, maybe a beat-em-up. He looks like he's ready for funny comical scenarios. A natural world like in the DKC series suggests a game around free-roaming exploration, one where you can take your time to enjoy the environment.

Wait a minute? Funny comical scenarios? Free-roaming exploration? Did I just describe DK64?!

Yes I did! And then it hit me! That's why DK64 is such a beloved game while being such a poorly designed one. Donkey Kong belongs to that type of game. Donkey Kong, his cast of characters, his wild world, belongs to a DK64 type of game. Not a Country one.

It's the same reason why Sonic can make such shitty games but still maintain a huge following. He's in games that still match his design. Being unplayable be damned. As long as you're still running loop-dee-loops and blowing up robots, people will still buy it and remember it. And as long as you're climbing trees and shooting crocodiles with fruity guns, people will still fondly remember DK64.

I don't know. Maybe I'm crazy. What do you guys think?
