Animal Crossing: Wild World [Model Ripping - Texture Problem]

I'm trying to rip models off Animal Crossing: Wild World, but the textures for the models aren't showing correctly in Blender - like in the images below;

But it shows AC:WW models perfectly in MKDS Course Modifier;

This is probably the reason I haven't seen any models ripped from the game, but if that's not the case, then... yeah.

So, you know how J-Shinn has been ripping an incredibly large amount of NES games? Well, it turns out that most of these are incredibly bad. Most of them are filled with some or many missing sounds, as well as random noises that never play in the game. Why are your rips so terrible, J-Shinn??? I don't know your ripping method, but it's clearly not working very well!

Okay, so after a failed first topic a few weeks ago here that didn't get any replies, I've tried to figure this out for myself and am now, once again, stuck.

I've decrypted the rom and extracted its contents;

However, I am at a loss of ideas where to start searching for the sprites in this game. All I've found so far are sound files usable via EFE, but the .fa files seem like they're the real deal in this case, and those, I do not know how to open.

I would appreciate if someone would at least reply this time and tell me if/what I'm doing wrong.

So, usually, ripping content from flash games gives me no problems at all...

But, every once in a while, I encounter a game that I just cannot find the graphics for.

So, this is my general flash ripping help thread...

My first item is an MMO, Crystal Saga, by r2games
I do not presently have the means to locate any more of its numerous files, but I'll provide links to the few that luckily, I still can find...

These files are all binary files lacking any extension, and apparently with no header.

I'm assuming these contain the assets, among other things, but idk what to do with them.
The game's binaries are less than useful, the source has been encrypted, no code can be derived from them that would help understand the files... I didn't download any of the server-side scripts, either... All I know is that SOMEWHERE, that game has thousands of graphical assets stored, and their true format, if not encrypted, probably is jpg, swf, or png, based on i've seen other similar MMORPGs, too similar, in terms of the graphics style/engine. (But the only other one I've tried grabbing assets from, didn't have a bunch of weird binary files... I have a dump of what contents I could acquire/locate before it shutdown, and the size of said dump is close to or over one gigabyte...most of which are .swf and .png)

Someone help, please?

And tell me if the links don't work, my friend's web chat backups had to be examined, and the chat has some character encoding issues at times, which ruin copy and paste.

Mega Man Legacy Collection

I found out that Mega Man Legacy Collection stores all of its data inside a password-protected .zip file. However, I have some trouble cracking it on my own in order to rip sprites (which are in a PNG format). Help is appreciated.

Trying to Rip GBC Sprites

Hey there! It's that little green horse you all love so much. Heart

So, I'm trying to rip sprites from WWF Betrayal  for the GBC. Only problem? I don't know how to. I tried using YY-CHR, but some of the tiles were kinda buggy and/or static-ish. Then I tried using Visual Boy Advance's Debug features, but they only got me a few sprites and let me tell ya: when it comes to sprite ripping, this pegasus tries his hardest to rip every single frame and tile he can find.

If anyone can help me out on how I can rip GBC sprites, I'd appreciate it. Big Grin

[SNES] Super Wilson World 3 Sprites

Super Wilson World is a SMW hack based on the Brazillian Youtuber Sr. Wilson from the channel ColôniaContraAtaca. The hack was created by Maxwel. I've never found any ripped sprites from the game, so i am doing it :v
(This is the first time i'm ripping a sprite, so you may expect some errors)

But I can't do it alone. I'm having a hard time finding all the models. I need help with collecting all the models from the game and rigs of the models. This would have to be a non-profit project though, so it would be something to do just for fun. If you could help with finding the models, I'll do the best I can to try and complete this project. I can't make any promises though. So if you don't want to help, cool. If you can get the models, I greatly appreciate it. Please post the models in the Models Resource or leave a link. Thank you.

PS2 && Unity Ripping Help??

I want to rip models from PS2 games, I.E: Constantine, Tenchu 3: Wrath Of Heaven, Super Hero Squad, Iron Man and a few others. I'm wondering if NinjaRipper will work for a PS2 emulator.

Also, I've noticed models that have been ripped from games that use Unity within web browsers, how is this possible. I'd like to rip the models from THIS WEBSITE.

Daroach Text in Kirby Mass Attack

Hello. I am NerdyBoutKirby, a primary administrator on Kirby.wikia.com. The names of the characters in Kirby Mass Attack are only given in bits of dialogue by the character Daroach. I have attempted to read as much of this dialogue as I can, but I don't know how much I've missed. A fellow editor mentioned that all of the dialogue is contained within the game's code, but he does not have the time to sort through it all.

If it isn't a bother, would you please attempt to find all the dialogue in the game? It would help Kirby Wiki become more accurate and improve player knowledge as a whole. The names of the Kirby Mass Attack characters listed on The Spriters Resource are based directly off the names from Kirby Wiki as well, so it would be beneficial to both websites.

Hi guys,

I'm a german hobby game dev and I have some spare time over the next couple of weeks that I want to use to develop & publish a small game that I made for a game dev contest a few days ago.

Since this is strictly speaking a request I'm not sure how much it complies with the forum rules, but you guys rock and I'm pretty sure this is the best place to ask - so moderators, please contact me if this thread isn't ok the way it is somehow.

(Please regard this as a prototype, rather than what the finished game will look & feel like)

I only had 48h to do everything from scratch so there's quite a lot of work to do to make it into an actually sellable game, but here is a list of things I'd like to do:

-tutorial level and better learning/difficulty curves 
-couple of new traps (at least one new summon as well) 
-couple of new heroes (trap immune invisible ones, fast riders and big guy with much hp) 
-more archer arrows contrast (by using an effect trail) 
-less starting gold overall (can't buy lots of traps at the beginning) 
-hero exit (heroes take some gold and try to flee) 
-more levels 
-better level transitions 
-enemies come in waves with short (skipable) pauses in between 
-better music and sound effects (I didn't have much time during compo) 
-easier controls and better usability overall (especially buying traps) 
-stun bar (fills when getting hit, decreases over time - stun when full) 
-overheat bar (fills when attacking, decreases over time - can't attack when full) 
-powerful active ability that costs gold (on cooldown) 
-dragon selection (each dragon uses different attack / active ability) 
-bosses, that are very strong and have an aura that buffs nearby heroes 
-maybe some sort of story intro (super rudimentary) 
-more polishing overall (actual animations for example)

This is just a list I came up with - obviously things can change if you (or someone else) get other ideas that would work better

As you can see my pixel art skills are rather limited ... I can make halfway decent low resolution stuff, but I'm really bad at animating and scenery things.

That's were you come in!

I'm searching for a partner to develop the game further and finish it. I'm expecting to need the following stuff:

-sprite sheets of about a dozen different characters (including dragons, golems, riders ...)
-tile sheet for at least one scenery of dungeon that's able to be arranged in different layouts
-some effect stuff (particles and fireballs and so forth)
-scenery stuff to fill the levels with
-interface artwork

everything should obviously work together nicely and I'd like around 16bit era resolution/style graphics, but if you have a different style - that's cool too.
all sprites need to be for all 8 directions.

I'm also searching for someone to draw some promotional artwork pieces - if you can do that too, amazing - otherwise I'll commission an artist.

Of course you'll get money for the whole thing.
I'm not able to pay you upfront myself (more on that later) - so you'll get a decent cut of the revenue (depending on amount of work time spent in relation to me)

However, I'm thinking about kickstarting the project for a small pledge amount, maybe around 1000€ or so. That would be enough to pay for a big part of our time as well as other costs (like a steam greenlight application and artwork/music commissions and so on. taxes are also a thing).
Obviously the idea is that the game would continue to generate additional revenue, it's hard to make market projections for these kinds of things though - so I cannot guarantee any specific amount of money. However, since this is a rather small project I don't think the risk is too high.
I'm pretty sure such a kickstarter would be successful as it's a small amount of money and I'm quite versed in marketing and I have relations to a few bloggers and influencers (i.e. game design professors) that could spread the word around.

If you'd like to work for a set amount of upfront money without a share of generated revenue, we can make this work too, via the kickstarter project.
Anyway, details will be discussed person to person.

Hi, I'm Larsenv and I wanted to make a tutorial on how to rip graphics for Wii Games based on the way I rip my graphics. It's fast and efficient and works on Linux, Mac, and Windows. This is the way I rip my stuff as well.

I wanted to make this tutorial since most rips/tutorials I see here say to use Dolphin for texture dumping. That takes a while to do and more time to find the sprites or textures you want out of hundreds or thousands of dumped and unorganized textures. So I wanted to write this.

Also, I might update this over time.

I finally done it... I did it with so great success, although it took me plenty of time solving any kind of troubles, but now I have all the tools I needed to begin the first batch of extracted 3DS models in raw files... fortunately I have the 3DS succesfully downgraded to 4.5. and have my Gateway 3DS and RX Tools... so I have methods to decrypt 3DS games... just I need pure luck at extracting the files and your help to rip the models succesfully... my first project will be "Toriko Gourmet Monsters".

However... it doesn't mean we may get the models, I mean, I will extract them, but I have zero knowledge about reverse engineering and maybe we might find some difficult models to rip... but I think that perhaps together we might succeed at this. and this project is a Key 6.x game... Lucky me for not taking a Key 7.x rom as my first project.
although Toriko Gourmet Monsters seemed so uncommon that even the only video I could see on youtube aside from a few trailers, is a demo of the game of about 30 minutes or more.

I will keep you up to date with the progress on model ripping help page.
