Hiya! Good day!

I'm a new user here, and I haven't really been on a forum before. But I'll try to be on here every once in a while.

About myself: I am a big fan of Nintendo, Sega, Capcom, Square Enix, Namco Bandai, and SNK. I've been a fan of Nintendo since I was a wee lad, and Sega was introduced to me around the same time. I got into Capcom's games at the age of four, and Square Enix's games at the age of six. As for SNK, I used to play Crystalis (Great game) and then I discovered their fighting franchise; The King of Fighters. So now they're one of my favorite video game companies.

Consoles I own:

I have a lot of Nintendo consoles, I own a Nintendo Wii, a Wii U, and a Nintendo DS. I used to own a Gamecube, a Nintendo 64, and a Game Boy Advance SP.

I love Sega's consoles though I only own a Dreamcast. I used to have a Sega Saturn at my house but I had to give it to my cousin.

Although I'm not really big onto Sony, My family owns a Playstation 3 and it does have some great gems. I also respect them as a company since they usually make fine quality games.

As for ol' Microsoft, I used to own an Xbox 360, but I ended up selling it. I regret it because I loved to play Dead Rising on the 360.

My favorite games by genre:

ChrNervous Trigger (My favorite Role-playing game.)
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (My favorite adventure game, and my childhood.)
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles (My favorite platformer game.)
Street Fighter Alpha 3 (My favorite fighting game, not counting Super Smash Bros.)
Mario Kart 8 (My favorite racing game.)

Back to why I joined:

Anyway, I joined because I feel like possibly trying to upload things like sprites. In fact I think I have some already that just need to be uploaded. Specificially, I have the character portraits from the Wonderswan Dragon Ball video game and the Dragon Ball RPGs on the NES.

Whew! That was a mouthful.

Super Tempo Sprite ripping help?

I've been trying to rip the sprites from this game but I'm running into the problems that most of the sprites are cut off by the screen edge are on the same layer as others. I tried to explore the game files but I'm not sure how to navigate the game's files. They are bin and crt file types.

I'm trying to rip at least up to beating the first boss. I'm also at a loss because the game seems to scale sprites at times so I'm unsure what to rip.

Are there programs to rip sprites from Sega Saturn games easier?

I started with the boss of the first stage since it seemed the easiest since he's mostly stationary. I'll post what I extracted and worked on so far but you'll probably see some of the problems I ran into.

The file didn't attach. Whoops.

Word Filters

Greetings, I came here to talk a little about a new, small update.

This forum was always lenient, as cuss words are concerned. So, words like 'shit', 'fuck' and 'dick' aren't censored, as we, the Staff, trust you, the members, to use them moderately. However, there were some words that were historically censored since the tSR times. With the forum update, those configs were lost, but I brought them back to ensure that you'll all have healthy conversations.

Down there is the list of the censored words.

I ask you all not to abuse this system just to trigger the word filter, that's not cool! Remember - always do your best to have healthy, fun conversation.

Disney Infinity (2.0) Ripping Process

Hello fine folks! I see we've had a sort of lack of ripping from this series and the only one who did will not be able to upload the models any time soon. So I've come to help get this in the works.

First up, the models themselves. A very skilled script programmer for Blender has made a way to extract the models from any of the series with a relatively simple process. It works for PC or PS3, not sure about the Xbox 360 versions, I haven't tested them yet.

This following link contains the blender scripts and all needed files for them to work properly. It requires Blender 2.4.9.b and Python version 2.6.6 to work properly.

Dropbox Link

After downloading it, unzip the desired format, and make sure you copy EVERYTHING in the resulting folder and paste it into the deeper "scripts" folder of your Blender installation. Mine is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts"
After which, you open the 'Blender249.blend' file. This will load a prefabricated scene with the script ready to run. Click the script window and press "Alt+P" then navigate to the ".oct" file of the model set you wish to import. Load it up, and there you go, the model will appear in the viewer, ready for export, though without textures (we'll get to those in a bit).

Export your model as whatever format you desire. I usually just go for OBJ since the bones don't matter to my projects. Sometimes the model needs to be fully selected for the export to work. Just click in the model window and press the "A" key before exporting to make sure it's all selected. The export will take hopefully less than a second, and I'd suggest saving it to an easy place to find. (I usually do it to a folder on the Desktop).

If you wish to import more models and don't want to just restart the whole thing all over again, just click the model window and hit "Ctrl+Z" a few times until a window says "No Undo Exists" or something of that nature. Fresh start right there.

Now, for the textures, this is a bit more difficult. Depending on which version you're extracting from, you may be waiting for a bit for the textures. The PC version is simply re-named DDS files. Problem is, with the PC versions, the file archives as situational, so they only download onto your computer as they are needed, so playing the game is required to get them all. HOWEVER, with the PS3 versions, EVERYTHING is loaded already on the disc. Problem? Yeah, the textures thus far have yet to be properly extracted.

If anyone wants to try and figure out how to extract the PS3 textures, here's some samples of them.

PS3 Texture Samples

Until that is done, we have only the PC version to rip textures from. So unless someone else is willing to play the game through each encounter we could be waiting a while.

Now, the process of applying the textures is a bit of trial and error. When loading the model you will notice components of it are different colors or shades. This is because the pieces of the model are each their own material group. Note that this does not mean they will not have the same textures. It's just a weird thing that some do, some don't. This is where the trial and error comes in. Manually apply textures to each material group, then render to see if it looks right. Once all is properly assigned, your model is ready to go.

Something to note. A good number of them have eyelids, which are normally closed when the model is loaded. This is part of the model, yes it looks weird.

So there's the process. I hope we can figure out the textures soon enough, I'd like to get these going pretty soon.

My WoW subscription wears off today. I feel like drawing some characters. Got one?

Now, I know this is kind of specific, but anyone else around here still have WoW installed? Even if you can't play your high level guys, you can still access your account because of the level 20 free thing and get a screenshot of your characters. I want to draw your character.

If its a game with customization, I guess it doesn't have to be WoW.

Game Icons (DS, Mobile, etc.)

Hey guys,

We've had a lot of submissions lately relating to the game icons for mobile and DS games. Not our style of icon, but rather the icons that relate to the game. These things:

[Image: 65856.png] [Image: 65884.png] [Image: 65888.png]

I want your opinions on these. We also have submissions for save game icons and banners from Wii games, that kinda thing... I'm reluctant to accept these because they're just single 64x64 images... I personally believe these are almost completely pointless. What do you guys think?

Should we accept them?

You can see the 12 we already have on the site to get a good idea of what they really entail: http://www.spriters-resource.com/search/?q=%22Game+icon%22

Need help getting a certain Diablo II sprite

A lot of Diablo II sprites have been uploaded to the Spriter's Resource, though I'm looking to that of a certain NPC, Ormus, that doesn't seem to be uploaded anywhere. I'm not sure what his sprite sheet would entail, or if he even has a walk animation. I don't need an awfully detailed sheet, nor do I plan to make gifs or anything similar of his animations. If it's already ripped somewhere or someone can rip it for me I'd be grateful, but if someone wants to tell me how to get started ripping it myself I'd be grateful. Thanks for reading.

Hello all! I'm new and hope to have an amazing time on this forum. I am a gaming enthusiast and an indie developer(more or less). Most of my projects are cut short due to my lack of graphical skills. My favorite game series includes, but is not limited to, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, and much more. I'm also quite fond of the Android. Who doesn't love playing some good ol' Um Jammer Lammy with a Ps3 Controller or Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! on a tablet? Don't answer that. I really enjoy music-rhythm games as well(Osu! especially) When it comes to programming, I am self-taught. I enjoy making fangames, as I see that many of them are...erm...poorly made(*Glares at RPG Maker*). I plan on going to college after graduation in the field of Computer Science. And...yeah. That's enough of describing myself. I hope to make many contributions to this forum.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories(GBA) Music & Sounds

So, I'm currently working on a KH fangame that improves on Kingdom Hearts; Chain of Memorie's battle system, but without the cards. I'm mostly doing this out of curiosity and for educational purposes. I've been accessing the debug menu of the game so I could record some of the frame data and whatnot, and I came across the sound library. I noticed that all of the sounds that I ripped correspond to that of the sound library. Although many people have ripped these sounds already, I created a .ZIP that contains all of the sounds used in the game, renamed according to the sound menu. This includes specific sounds, such as the keyblade hitting an object, the text beeping noise, and the oh-so iconic low-hp beeping noise. Enjoy! Wink

IOS Injustice & MKX texture help??

Been ripping the models from Injustice and Mortal Kombat X and the "SPEC" map has two maps in the file. I've added the files from two models to give ou a good idea of what's confusing me!

I want to make sure I've labelled both Maps properly. This one I've designated these as SPEC maps:

MKX ~ Mortal Kombat X && MKX ~ Injustice:

.png   MKX_IOS_CHARACTER_Scorpion_MKX_Body_S_SCALED.png (Size: 285.89 KB / Downloads: 28)
.png   MKX_IOS_CHARACTER_Scorpion_Injustice_Body_S_SCALED.png (Size: 406.02 KB / Downloads: 25)

And this one, I think these are Overlay maps:

MKX ~ Mortal Kombat X && MKX ~ Injustice:

.png   MKX_IOS_CHARACTER_Scorpion_MKX_Body_O.png (Size: 56.21 KB / Downloads: 7)
.png   INJ-GAU_IOS_CHARACTER_Scorpion_Injustice_Body_O.png (Size: 281.95 KB / Downloads: 6)

Am I right, or have I got it back to front?

Also, I had to rescale the "SPEC" map.

Thanks for the help and what not!

I did read here:

http://www.vg-resource.com/thread-13280-page-9.html

That they use to be an unpacker for the .Arc data from that game.
The problem is, that the program for convert the .Arc, well... they're not anymore on the web

So, I'm more asking if someone has a copy of that program.
Because after extract, all the model are on .GMO

Plus, its quiet interesting, because almost each character has 10+ outfits (Lower Al, which only have around 5-6), and because its based on the 2009 Anime, which is the more close one to the Manga, well, the model are quiet accurate.

a while after UVing this i some how subdivided it by accident.
i attempted uploading this 3 time but always came back with issues but the last one was about when i subdivided it, therefore i
dont have the effort to melt every seperate polygon back to shape or re=apply the map to a re-extract of the model due to fuck ups.
so here is the download for it if anyone can repair it or something. your free to re-upload it aslong as UV credit is given if you
somehow find a solution.
