Same as title. Spoil the ending or whatever from your favourite game(s) but without context. Here's mine for starters.
1: You are merely a dream
2: Everything you've done was a simulation
3: The almighty gods turns out be little critters.

hello guys I wanted to know what is the recommended program to extract all 3D models from WII games, super smash bros brawl, Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess / Skyward Sword?
I wanted to create a mega-game for PC that I've officially revealed here =>.http://bigclaudia.deviantart.com/art/Adventure-model-571785065
I now seek the material for the work and the program that I use for the project with Blender

Bink video with alpha; how to export to png?

Is there's a way to take a bink video with transparency and output individual frames?

I tried with vlc but it kills the transparency.

I tried with rad video tools, but it kills the transparency on export to png or avi too (dunno if there's an option somewhere I haven't seen, seems silly that it does this tho).

That's all I have tried, but I'm already out of ideas, since no video editor I know of will  let me use bik files, and losing the alpha on export pretty much kills the frames for submission related purposes.

(not gonna lie, downloading no name video converters from the web scares me, I already bluescreened a computer with one of those in the past Tongue)

Meta Ridley (Prime 1) ripped but no rig?

HI ery body so I after years of excruciating effort finally cracked open metroid prime's data. (thanks to some new scripts someone recently made) I was wondering though I got the model but was  disappointed to find the rig was missing. now this could be on account of me ripping it wrong or I grabbed the wrong model, but I'm still really new to the ripping game ok not new just hyper un-experienced. I'm not sure how I could share what I have so far the whole rom is gigs large so that's out of the question but actually accessing the data if you have the scripts and the ROM ripping it is a synch.

let me know if you are interested in helping me solve this mystery. ( I know the brawl model exists, but the textures, scale, shaders, proportions, and I'm assuming the rig are of a higher caliber from hours of comparison.

This is one of the sites that have some scripts that I've used

This is another one that helped me get over the last hurdle

wish I had more info but quick google search should lead to all the info you need (I'd use it but most of it goes over my head)

the things here are console applications so they are a little un-weildy

Love to hear what you guys think in the meantime i'll be spending a gross amount of time getting the smash 4 pikachu model animation ready.

Im searching for the name of a old pc games:
You manage a village in a old kingdom and the gameplay is about only adjusting sliders ( your crops, trade, soldier, buildings etc)  and then press "next turn". In between turns, you can get attacked by multiple faction ( goblin, nomad tribes, etc) and event often happen ( someone get possessed, a monster roam your lands, a relic is found) and i remember that the events have their own pictures. You can also leads expedition on a pretty big world map, which triggers other events.
Anyone knows what im talking about?

MAME tile viewer

When I was ripping sprites from Sonic Patrol Car, I tried to go view and rip tiles through pressing F4 and found out that it's certain 16-bit games like that which don't seem to work well with MAME's tile viewer. Is there any other way to rip these sprites, besides going through screenshots?

Wii sprite rip help

So i've been trying for around a week now to rip sprites from "Sakura Wars V: So Long, My Love" and "Trauma Center: Second Opinion" on Dolphin. I tried using the "dump textures" feature an some other resource extractor but the sprites all came out grey. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or the colors of the sprite are in another area of the ISO. I'm fairly new at ripping so i'm kind of lost here...

Dan Soup's Submissions (First Rip: Shrek SuperSlam)

Been visiting tSR for a long time but only just registered and thought I'd give something back.

You may not know it but there's a small competitive scene for the game Shrek SuperSlam. I'm currently trying to help the scene grow by providing resources, particularly in-game character renders. While messing around in the textures I checked and saw that there were no sprites submitted for the game on tSR so I thought it was about time to change that. This is my first submission, the in-game character icons that you see above your SLAM meter. While they're identical to the character select screen icons they are different when you use a character's unlockable alternative costume. There are no icons for the different palette swaps.

I don't know what the policy on plugging websites in sprite sheets is but if it's a problem then it's easily fixed. Just trying to spread the word because the game is really fun at a competitive level. Yes, there's a certain level of memeness and injokes (look at that Humpty Dumpty icon!) but beneath all that is a genuinely deep and tactical game.

Next plan is to get the stage icons along with the stained glass window images from the loading screens.

Seems like Don is trying to bring out a new movie. An adaptation of his arcade classic: Dragon's Lair! Sadly, things aren't looking too hot for him right now due to there being only 12 days left and his goal isn't being reached.
Please! If you are a fan of classical animation or a fan of the Dragon's Lair games or just are a fan of Don Bluth, consider donating!

It's right here:

I've already donated to it.

What's up with Splatoon's textures?

Recently, I was playing around with the model of Callie from Splatoon, and I noticed some strange stuff in the textures.

Here, I'm using her funky dress as an example.

Of course, there's pretty clearly the three main maps you'd see in a Nintendo model:

The texture, the specular, and the normal maps. The specular map looks funky, but that's nothing special; the dress just looks that way.

The file names are as follows:

Code:
M_Spangles_Alb.png
M_Spangles_Spm.png
M_Spangles_Nrm.png

I'm not sure what alb stands for, but it's clearly the color map. Spm and Nrm are SpecularMap and Normal, respectively.

Here's another example: the weird sashimi thing on her head.

In addition to the three expected Alb, Spm, and Nrm maps...

...There are also three other maps labeled Tcl, Emm, and Rft.

I'm assuming Emm is for Emission, to control the light given off by the slab of raw fish on Callie's head, but I simply cannot think of what Tcl and Rft could be.

Oh yeah, and don't get me started on inkling color or jellyfish transparency.

Accurate background ripping from Melee?

So, I'm looking into trying to pull the Battlefield background models (simple as they are) from Super Smash Bros. Melee. I'm aiming to get the three large concave structures that rotate (using mapping generated by normals to subtly warp environment textures), as well as the static cylinder that shows between transitions.

With any luck, the end result will be importing into Brawl as an edit for Project M's current 'Melee Battlefield' stage, which is distracting as all hell.

Using Dolphin and DirectX, what's the best way to do it at the proper ratio?

Game Developers & Genres

While working on a tags system, we came to the conclusion that we need to work to improve data related to games before we proceed. A number of the tags that we would be looking to add would be basic information that shouldn't be seen as a variable or non-required.

By this I mean Developers and game Genres. I'm proposing we begin to take extra data in for game submissions for these fields, using pre-filled drop downs.

An example will be that under Game Name: we'll include a Developer(s): and Genre(s):

We'll then include links to browse all developers and genres on the top navigation of the site. This will provide the user with a page similar to the home page of a console, and a letter navigation to the same effect.

We would begin with a number of obvious massive companies such and Nintendo, Konami, SEGA, Capcom etc. but also allow people to add new developers which would be added to the drop down list. As staff we will need to be on top of this, as we won't want multiple divisions of the same company to come up on the site. However, I'm also concerned that we might get a TONNE of developers appearing in this list, what with the number of indie titles we have. I initially proposed that we limit the system to only pre-defined companies, and have an "Other Developer" selection (similar to Other Systems as a console). However this will likely cause some issues with us picking who to include as a big enough company to give their own section. If a game is by an "Other Developer" should we allow a user to put the name of the developer in still? That way it can still be found later should we decide to put it as a major dropdown item?

Thoughts on how to handle this?

I think that Genres should be all pre-defined. I know many games have no real genre (Katamari is a good example) so we can't cover all bases but all of the majors ones. We can poll users here to compile this list too.

Maybe for Developers we have a threshold of "it need x number of games" to appear in the list, so anyone added as an "Other Developer" can have that count be checked and we can decide whether to include them in the drop down.

Let us know your thoughts.
