Hey. VG resource, is there a way to easily rip NES sprites for certain games?

If anybody knows how, all help is appreciated.

Cool Wassup people? My name is Zachary. You can call me that or ZakAttak49. I am a BIG fan of The Legend of Zelda. I have no hair, so don't go nuts if you see a bald guy uploading random stuff. (It's called Alopecia Areata.) I have recently done a LOT of textures and a little bit of models. I will take model requests: BUT. Only NINTENDO models. I can't do other things. I will be able to do these so far:
Nintendo Gamecube

If anyone can help me or teach me to rip or convert models much would be appreciated.

I have so many textures, I need to upload them fast so my computer doesn't freeze. Shocked
Anybody know how to upload content?

Facts about me:
I have no hair.
I am left handed.
If you look closely at one of my eyes, you can see two blue dots.
I am good at computers.
I can play guitar ( Not right now, my Lotus Stratocaster is jacked up Unimpressed )
I know how to do Link's sword twirl animation to where he swings his sword, twirls it, then puts it away.(Only left handed version, sorry.)
I have LOTS of zelda stuff.
I have 3 youtube accounts. (Subscribe, people.)

Sorry about too much about me. Let's talk about you. Who's here?

I have just uploaded Zelda Twilight Princess Gamcube's Small key. It's "unnaproved." What does that mean?

Tropical Freeze Textures: the TXTR format. Gotta crack it!

(Repost from the Request board in case I'm in the wrong place...)

Semi-urgent. LOL sorry. XP

I would like someone to help me research the TXTR format found in DKC Tropical Freeze's PAK files. I got em out of the PAK's (Geez, there are a METRIC CRAP TON of these things), and into HxD. Now I gotta convert these bastards into DDS or PNG.

So far, the models, UV's and material names are cracked. But I wish to upload TF's skinned / textured models onto the Resource.

The problem is that there seems to be absolutely nothing to guide me in my search for converted files: No offsets, no file names, no references to ANYTHING AT ALL, no CMPR unlike Returns, absolutely sweet piss all. I would like to ask someone who has experience in this stuff help me out, and if it's cracked, make the converter app. (I can't code this crap is why haha!) But on my end I'd keep looking through the files in hex editors and report to the volunteer(s) with findings. I would ask Parax (the original PakTool and etc. author), but he's busy and pretty much told me to look myself. But I'm finding diddly squat.

TXTR file samples available to send and test on.

Thanks!

I am new at actually ripping sprites and I made some pending sprite sheets on December 8th. On average how long does it take to get them approved?

My Animal crossing recreations

This is sort of pixel art, but it's not my original pixel art. So I didn't think it should have gone in the pixel art category, but I am not sure. I have been using the spriter's resource for years now remaking hundreds of sprites in Animal crossing from games that I like. I just thought somebody would like to see some of them, but for now I'll just show off Spawn because he is one of my best recreation drawings. Also if you have a good website to post these QR code pictures and get it more recognition than just sitting in a huge album on my facebook not ever being discovered I am all ears.

I am a teenager who uses the spriter's resource to recreate video game characters in Animal crossing new leaf. I only just recently started ripping sprites because I know how much I use them.

Nintendo All-Stars in a Mario-styled game

So when I first heard about Mushroom Kingdom Fusion, it got me really excited. "All these video game heroes in one Mario-styled adventure?" it sounded like a dream-come-true! Then I actually saw the game. "Oh... man." It was a mess of mismatched sprites and themes that went all over the place. Even the gameplay seemed like a mess. Characters would play like how they would in their games but in Mario levels. Which sounds awesome on paper, but doesn't really work out when you actually try to do it.

I always wondered with more structured gameplay mechanics and coherent sprites, it could be an amazing game!

Recently when Mario Maker came out, my interests in such a game rekindled. I started messing about a bit. I wanted to see how Link would look and play in a Mario game. I figure it would work like this:

Small Link: When Link is small he is unable to break brick blocks (just like Mario) so that means he can't use his sword in this form. He's limited to running, jumping, and holding objects (like shells). However, when standing still, he can still use his shield to protect himself from projectiles.

Big Link: After getting a Mushroom, in this form he can break blocks with his head. In addition to that, he can use his sword to break blocks in front of him and attack enemies. He can break blocks below him with his sword by pressing down while in the air. He can also use this skill to hop on spiked enemies.

Fire Arrow Link: A Bow appears instead of a Fire Flower. Link dresses in red and shoot straight moving arrows that have the same effect on enemies as Mario's fireballs.

Ice Boomerang Link: An Ice Boomerang appears instead of an Ice Flower. Link dresses in blue and throws a boomerang that travels a very short distance but has the same effect on enemies as Mario's iceballs.

Cape Link: A Cape appears instead of a Leaf. Link dresses in purple and wears a white cape. Link can jump higher and slowly descend to the ground. Given enough running speed, Link can fly!

Ahem. Anyway, I'll be doing more with Link and then hopefully work on some other Nintendo characters. Stay tuned.

Hello, i have been looking around the forums and i wanted to ask something. what program would people suggest for a 3D model viewer?
Doesn't need to be that advanced or anything, although i would prefer one where i can import multiple models at once.

Ripping Ps2 models - backface culling

$

hey guys!

i've been trying to import some ps2 exclusive maps. i ran into many dead ends trying to decompress the files from the disc. i found this site and this thread: http://www.vg-resource.com/thread-20541.html  ive been using this as a guideline and so far things are shaping up nicely but i have questions regarding backface culling.

the models ive been ripping are not flat. after i scale them they are sized proportionally and i can do a full 360 top to bottom view of the model. however they are missing many polygons. i set the material to "2 sided" and all the polygons are rendered and the model looks like it should. i even tested it on the "render scene" tool and it shows no signs of backface culling.

my issue is, the thread i linked above a user states that the "2 sided"  method won't work for rendering. now i havent tested any of these models in game yet, but from the render scene and view port ive eliminated all backface culling. the op states the only way to fix backface culling is to capture multiple angles of the model then piece them together.  im confused. are my models usable or am i just short term fixing bad models?

that thread is a bit outdated. are there any new options out there for ripping maps from ps2 games?

lastly here are the files i cant seem to extract, maybe someone here might know something i dont.

Converting BRR to WAV?

(Sorry if this is in the wrong thread.)

So I'm slowly but surely getting back into the swing of ripping SNES instruments, and I recently installed a nifty SNES VST called C700; it can open .SPC files, and converts .WAV samples to .BRR samples. However, the one thing it can't do is convert those .BRR samples back into .WAV format.

What's really sad about my problem is that when I try searching for a solution via Google, I get tons of results about converting .WAV to .BRR...but not vice versa. Sad

Can someone please help me? Is there a program that can convert .BRR to .WAV?

Yeah, what it says on the tin.

Lately, this forum's getting on my nerves and it's proving to be an unpleasant experience for my daily life. I'll return when I'm fully recovered, but yeah, expect me not being here as often.

I'll be over my other accounts though so feel free to drop me a message if you want to talk with me.

I'll still work on my Secret Santa gift though, so don't sweat it. My friend definitely deserves it so I'll do my best.

3DS and SD Cards...

So, I'm looking to get a bigger SD card for my 3DS, but I've... never really needed to expand it past the original SD card that came with the unit before.  So I'm not sure what the restrictions are on what will read and what's compatible, things like that.

Basically, there's a 32GB Kingston MicroSD with adapter on sale at Amazon for dirt cheap and I want to make sure it'll work before I snatch it.
