All right, since Vita games have been more or less cracked, I was hoping someone could help me get as much as possible from this game. Specifically, Trillion itself, if anything.

Super Smash Bros REMIX! Spriters Needed

To anyone who is experienced in spriting, I need someone who is willing to make sprites for every Smash Bros fighter with new movesets (And by "every", I mean EVERY) for my upcoming game. Contact me on Twitter if you'd like to help out. I'll give you the general ideas of what I want the movesets to be for each fighter. My Twitter handle is @0megaEx. In case it wasn't blatantly obvious, I need spriters who have experience making custom sprites from scratch. Don't worry, I will give credit to your work, because without you, I would never be able to get this done.

Hey there

Short introduction post after having already posted a tiny bit beforehand Tongue

Hey there, this is xdaniel, a 29 years old ROM hacker/hobby reverse-engineerer and programmer/general fan of games, anime, manga/etc. from Germany. I've been playing video games since... who knows when - probably 1990 or thereabouts, starting on the family Commodore 64 - and have been hacking them since ca. 1998/99, likely getting started with Pokemon RBY and GS. Over the years, I've been around various communities, like early German Pokemon hacking, or Zelda OoT/MM hacking, while now I'm more generally found around the "unused content / gaming archeology" parts of the internet, such as contributing to The Cutting Room Floor, both directly (researching and writing articles) and indirectly (creating tools that others might use).

I guess the reason I joined VG Resource is to kinda try and "bridge communities" a bit, if that makes any sense, as there seems to be a bit of an overlap between ex. these forums here and other sites that also have, say, research into game formats going on. Namely, while browsing VGR as a guest, I had noticed the threads about Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, and about how to extract sprites/textures from that game, while I had already looked into their format (GXT, used in many more Vita games) and written a tool for extraction a while ago. I don't mean this in an "advertising" sense, if anyone's thinking that right now, but more in a "let's be efficient and not needlessly duplicate work" kinda way.

Well, I hope you understand what I'm trying to get at, and I hope that I'll be welcome here Smile

Xenoblade Chronicles X catex

I've been wanting to view the graphics from Xenoblade Chronicles X, but they're all stored as .catex files.
Viewing them with a hex editor reveals there's several lines of duplicated bytes and apart from MTXT at the end of the file, there's no file header. There's nothing I can find on these types of files either.

I just uploaded audio from Pokemon Battle Revolution to the site, how long until it gets approved and appears for everyone else to download it?

I'm sorry I couldn't add a picture for the Battle Revolution page, could someone else add one when it gets approved?

AkumaTh's Works: Adam SOR Sprites

While I have other things I should be working on, I couldn't help but start on this.

The original idea was to assemble the Adam Sprites I ripped from the SOR Mobile game. Then it occurred to me that the sheet itself is incomplete. So since Streets of Rage Remake isn't being ripped (for one reason or another), I figured I should try to extend the sprite sheet. Besides the assembled sprites, I started on the German Suplex animation. How do those poses look (since the other sprites are just the official sprite assembled)?

So, I am trying to get a DVD-ROm that can extract WII ISO's so that I may extract the contents in them but I don't know which is the best for that. I have two ROM's I am looking at, and I will post them here. If you have any others in mind could you post the direct link to the item?

I also don't understand some of the firm ware lingo like UNK,UDMA2, and etc so if you could explain those it would help me out greatly.

Probably a dumb question but in regards to Xenosaga Episode 1:

I've seen several rips of various Xenosaga Episode 1 characters and somehow they seem to lack the level of detail/fidelity/whatever as what I've seen in-game during stuff like the x-buster cutscene. However said cutscene doesn't really appear to be a hand-drawn thing to me. I can't help but wonder if they use higher quality models for such occasions than they do otherwise, because it would chug the console down too much with other objects on the screen during other moments. Am I wrong? Do people simply not know?

I kinda think it would be cool knowing if there ARE higher quality models that can be ripped from said scenes, but just... haven't been for whatever reason, and if they aren't higher quality models, what exactly are they? They don't seem hand drawn because they seem to be true 3d models based on how their dimensions are displayed via camera angels and whatnot. I'm not an artist or a modeler, please forgive the noob terminology.

Hi, I'm just some dude ripping stuff, attempting my first tutorial.

If you find any typos, misinformation, grammatical errors, or want to chime in on any other methods feel free to, and feedback is highly appreciated.

I've been wanting to do this for awhile but was never sure if I could explain it well enough to understand.

First off here are some tools you'll need.

Access to Homebrew with (>=9.2) Braindump  or (<=9.2) Decrypt9
ctrtool (Not sure if there's a release thread for this)
Ohana3ds Rebirth
Neosis
Blender Source Tools if using Blender If using SMD export
Any Image Editing Software that supports transparency
Hex Editing Software
Text Editing Software

Steps spoilered to avoid the eye sore that it was without spoilers

I wrote this while the site was down last week, and wasn't really confident enough with it to release it(which I'm still not but w/e)

This is just my method as I prefer blender, others may have better methods, so Please R8, H8, and Deb8 my M8s.

Hope this helped.

Atomic Bomberman Sprites

I love Atomic Bomberman, I have the original game and have been looking at some personal projects to port a similar clone to linux but need the sprites and figured as I rip them I may as well share my work with the community in case other people were interested in similar projects

Atomic Bomberman is a little different than some other systems- its sprites are locked in .ani files which are similar to animated icons but no animated icon viewers open the files- it seems to be a filetype specific to this game, but no matter- Atomic Bomberman has a built in editor called fredit.exe that of course only works on windows 98 so I powered up my virtual machine with windows 98 and got it up and running but the exporter that is supposed the export the frames as .tga files doesnt work as it complains about it not being a 24 bit direct color something or other which I'm going to guess is an incompatibility with the display driver, but again I can work around that too.

So my current method of attack short of hacking together my own .ani reader is to just take screenshots and work my magic in gimp.

I want to do it proper - the ideal way would be to dump the contents natively with the built in exporter but if the screenshot way is the only way to do it I guess I can work with that.

My main question is what is the best practise for building spritesheets? Atomic Bomberman ani files can have over a hundred frames per animation.

My current plan of attack is to crop out the frames from my screenshots then use a plugin in gimp to array them (like gmic or iglo) and then I don't know if want to split the pages by each .ani file from the game or make a giant spritesheet... I'm leaning toward one sheet per animation maybe.

Thoughts and suggestions?

Avengers Academy

Hi guys.

I'm planning on making a roleplaying game on Dreamwidth based on this stupidly addicting phone game, and I need the majority of the 2D inages from it: face sets, the little items you can collect, that sort of thing.

I already know the game has some base things that are downloaded to the phone/tablet, and the rest are streamed in via weblinks. I tried to capture this, but my phone sadly refused to cooperate with the software for some innane reason stupid iPhone. I'd greatly appreciate the help.

I'm mostly looking for the facesets of the minor characters: Nick Fury, Odin, Ares, Pym, ect. I wouldn't say no to the others, though, especially Tony, Jan, Loki, and Pepper. And also the little item images. I'd love to see all of the game ripped and put up on TSR/TMR because it is great and the models and art are very well done, but that would be up to the person doing the work.

Thank you in advance.
