Simpsons Wrestling voice files help (PSX)

Ok, I am completely new at this so I may be missing a few things in oversight.

I have been at it trying to rip Mr. Burns' files for Simpsons Wrestling (PSX) off of an ISO  for a while, but the layout of this entire game is kind of strange. First I tried Jpsxdec to locate where the sound files were located in the game, and apparently they were in another giant file called BIG.bin.

So I loaded that part separately into the program. Nothing popped up. I opened up BIG.bin with notepad to take a look at the script to see what type of files were included and if I could locate the names of the sound files and it looks like gibberish with some sparse names. It was wingdings level gibberish.

I tried a few other programs until I downloaded Psound. It actually located the files and I thought I had success, but apparently every one I play it only starts for a fragment of a second before stopping. I messed around the Hz settings, that didn't change the length. I looked at another topic to see if the files were fragmented and the reason for not playing as whole since it was converted as mono, but that wasn't the case.

I googled for Psound issues to see if anyone else had problems with files that weren't playing all the way through and so far I found nothing.

So now I have a whole bunch of files which I finally located, but they are not playing all the way through.

Any pointers? Help? Should I summon a demon lord?

Well, isnt too much, i will just show you one image of this WIP:

I like Adventure Time, but i have to admit, Characters arent that awesome, those thin arms and legs (Looks awfull for me), I tryed to keep the head and face because is one of the most important parts to recognize the characters.

The Head is good? i think it looks weird, i should change it? or modify it a little bit? (Ideas?)

I made just the Hat/Cap and Sword, i will work on Shirt and Pants after i finish the entire Model (The face is the only one that doesnt convince me)

Mobile "Valkyrie Profile" game that just came out in Japan.
/u/Renarii on reddit hosted the assets here.
Dug out the BGMs but that's as far as I can go:
If there's any VP fan with some extra time on their hands... wouldn't mind seeing the art/portraits/etc.

Thanks.

Hey guys, I finally managed to get the romFS of this game. The whole point of this was to extract the assets of a single character, and I've hit a roadblock. I was hoping someone could help me convert these files at least to OBJ and some typical texture for use with said OBJ. It needs UV's of course. I have no idea what to do at this point, and really need help.

Thrillville: Off the Rails DS ripping

Hey everybody.

I'm currently new at the model ripping thing. I'm trying to rip the 3D models of the characters from the DS version of Thrillville: Off the Rails, but I'm having trouble with doing so. When I first extracted the rom's files with Tinker, it appears that the models could be hidden somewhere in the rom where I have no clue where they might be, or they might be hidden in the overlay files. But as I previously mentioned, I don't know how to open these 3D models clearly. I tried to follow guides on how to rip NDS models but they didn't help. I've also used several programs that are capable on ripping 3D models, but not every program I used helped me. Some of them opened for a split second, and close afterwards. Others were not capable on opening the files because they opened them incorrectly; like showing a lot of text and code instead of the actual model of the 3D model I want to see. I was only capable on ripping the music from the game as they look simple to rip, but not the models. I also tried looking for help on the internet, and it didn't work out, either. Like I said, all the methods I tried to follow in order to rip Nintendo DS models didn't help me, as the 3D models from the game are hidden within the rom itself, or in the overlay files I previously mentioned.

If you know how to rip NDS Models that are hidden within the rom or in overlay files, let me know. Smile

Regarding Dissidia

Okay. I might be new here, but I'm incredibly pissed off upset about the state of the Dissidia/Dissidia 012 rips and the organization of the games.
I might be the only person who actually cares about the game, so I might make a few suggestions anyway:

-Merge the game folders together. Both games use the same assets for the most part, so it's probably redundant to accept the same models twice, and this probably leads to the second point. I don't expect this one to be even considered, though.

-Reorganize everything.
The whole thing as it is is a mess. I'm going to try uploading what I have in sub-categories, based around the outfits, EX Mode models, and whatever was not used when 012 was released (like Tidus' recolored Alt1 outfit from the first game, due to the outfit being replaced by a Dissidia-styled remake of his Final Fantasy X model, for example)

-Try to get everything as uniform as possible.
This is literally the thing that pissed me off the most about how Dissidia/D012 is handled on the site: a lot of the rips look completely disjointed. Some are T-posed, some are just ripped from Noesis without any effort put into making sure it looks uniform and usable, but most of it looks cluttered, and that adds to how what seems like everyone's opinion that the models are ugly when they really aren't, imo.

and tbh, I think a lot of games on the Model's Resource need some sort of reorganization and clean-up. I bring up Dissidia/D012 because it is one of the two games I have all the non-DLC models for.

Hey all!

So I've been working on adding levels and characters into the Sonic MAX engine for Gamemaker Studio.
you can see my work here: http://www.youtube.com/okamikurainya

But I, like many I'm sure, was wondering what Sonic 4 might have been like with a competent engine and so I started looking into porting Act 1 of Splash Hill Zone into Sonic MAX.

Alas, the tiles were off style and too big... Sad
So I set about remaking my own version. It's still a WIP, but I thought I'd put it up here and update every now and then for some feedback since my pixel-work isn't the best.

The palm fronds are kicking my ass at the mo. XD
Hopefully have them done by tonight.

Hey there everybody, I'm Cons0nance, or Cam if you prefer.  After enough time needlessly pestering talking with the people in the Skype group I decided to make an account on here so I can ruin everybody else's day hopefully improve my spriting skills.

I've been working with sprites for about seven years now; I could show off all of the stuff I've made but the issue with that is that those seven years have all culminated with a bunch of poopy 8-bit Mega Man styled sprites that I was proud of for some reason a year ago.  Ultimately I'm hoping to grow as a spriter and learn how not to shamelessly create the same thing over and over.  Perhaps I'll even learn how to work with shading and not hide my crippling weaknesses behind low-bittage spritework.

Other stuff I do includes short films and sprite comics.  The short films are alright, the comics not so much.  I'm not going to bother linking them but I'm sure it can't be too difficult to find them if you put effort into it.  In any case that isn't relevant because this forum is meant more for the creation of the assets I use in these comics.

Despite literally every word that I've typed up there being rather sarcastic and self-deprecating, I'm actually not entirely horrible to talk with, as some people can confirm.  Much of the time I'm not particularly serious, and most of what I say is meant in jest; if something I say ever comes across the wrong way please let me know, as that's never my intent.

With all of that out of the way I'm going to conclude this introduction; hello to all VGR members and I thank you in advance for welcoming another young and impressionable youth into the ranks of video game rippers.  May the Ancient Ones smile down upon you and whisper their sweet nothings into your ears in the dead of night in that cursed tongue of theirs.

Can anyone rip models from Quest 64?

I understand that this isn't the best game out there, but I find the models in them very charming. If possible, I would like to see these models ripped. That way, I can have references for a possible project I'll work on in the future.

How to do 80's Chrome logo in Gimp?

I've been wanting to make an 80's-style chrome logo similar to this:
But using Gimp.

Unfortunately, the only tutorials I could find were for Photoshop, and some of the features and techniques these tutorials use aren't available in Gimp. Sad Granted there are chrome text tutorials for Gimp, but they're all for making crappy modern-day chrome effects.

So if someone could teach me how to create an 80's-style chrome Logo in Gimp (If it is possible.), then please do so.

Google Pac-Man Re-Rip

So, all the way back in May of 2010 when I first joined the VGR forums (they were still the tSR forums then), I had a sprite sheet rip of the Pac-Man 30th anniversary Google Doodle; it was promptly accepted and added to the website.

http://www.spriters-resource.com/pc_comp...eet/31295/

It isn't a terrible sheet overall, but I have a couple regrets about it that I feel I need to rectify. The first being that gaudy background color that has caused eyestrain for myself and several others I asked about it. The other is how I edited the sheet and that weird, blocky font I used (which I was obsessed with when I was a teenager). As I had mentioned back when I submitted the sheet originally: the sheet itself was what I had ripped, not the sprites within.

See, the two guys at Google who created the doodle took a couple pages from Enterbrain and YoYo Games' book about sprite assets: have all of the assets be on a single bitmap, and have the game's programming refer to different portions of said bitmap to display the sprite. Everything you'd see in the browser Pac-Man game came from that single sheet, and that's what I had originally found rooting around in the HTML data six years ago. Luckily, Google archives all of their Doodles and logo variations, so I just went back to the Pac-Man one and went digging into the web page data again.

I went with a less gaudy teal green for the background color, and put all of my information on the bottom. I also kept the sheet's original layout intact, which includes that weird white finger looking graphic that I removed previously (my only guess is that it was made for finding which sprite the game wanted to find and access). I also decided to add a newer thumbnail picture for the sheet that shows a few more of the games assets. I hope everything here is in order for replacing my original sheet.

I'm trying to get a good stock of characters in a list for my new little pet project.

I'm calling them "Peanut People" for now.

It doesn't matter how detailed, obscure, or strange they are.  If the character comes from a fictional medium that has a visual depiction, I want to try to turn them into a peanut person. I appreciate any input or ideas. My main concern is running out of ideas after 3 weeks so I'm loving suggestions.

Itadaki Street Portable help?

I'm trying to rip models from Itadaki Street Portable (specifically Fran, Basch, Balthier and Penelo) and while jpcsp extracts them, it also extracts a whole bunch of other stuff I don't want like the surroundings and such. Not to mention, the models look really poor(?) when they look beautiful when I run the game on ppsspp.

I've tried using Ninjaripper and it's unable to rip the models. It can only get the textures. I also tried using Noesis but after I extract the iso and go into the USRDIR to unpack/extract things from the pack.dat file, it tells me that the file could not be previewed / file type could not be determined.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Can somebody help me?
