Hey all. I found some weird archives in Sonic Rush Adventure that  apparently holds the models related to the Final Boss, the Egg Wizard. Can anyone help me extract it?

RWS file not reading

I am trying to get models out of the Jackass video game (PS2 version in particular) which uses RenderWare.

I have run Johnny Knoxville, Chris Pontius, Ryan Dunn, and Wee Man through the viewers included in the RenderWare SDK, but the Clump and World viewers display a blank area, while the Visualizer gives me this message:

"RenderWare Visualizer encountered a problem while loading or displaying a scene. Please consult the documentation for further information."

Attached to this post is an RWS file for Chris Pontius. Anyone who has the RenderWare SDK, please help me out!

Discuss cops (police) like show stuff here in this thread.

What cops like show (and also what episode and season) has a police officer telling a girl to take out her hands from her pockets and she keeps ignoring the officer's commands and after she says "Oh my God!" she gets shot at three times?

So, I'm in need of some help in locating some models in Spirit Tracks. The models that I've been trying to hunt down are...

Armor Train
Bomb Train
Trolley (from beginning train tutorial part)
Demon Train

If someone could help point me in the right direction of where to look in the rom, I would be much appreciated.

Hi!

Well I'm new here, but i saw the great crowd here and i think it's a perfect place to find a DevTeam!
So I put those games um the thread topic, because i've played them. So i was digging and some old files and i saw some spirtes from a old game, thats make me to wonder if anyone wants to make it with me. Just for learning i'm making a diablo 2 demo, understand better the way how it was made.

So i want maybe do it in this way or similar. If anyone want some cool to learning and making things happen, let me know!

Thanks for the space! Smile

In sp(r)ite of the art... [community event]

You all know that some games had limitations, especially the 16 and 8-bit console games. This caused character graphics to vary wildly from the sprites to official art, and all that shit.

For example, the NES Valkyrie, who looks like this in the official art...

But like this in-game.

[Image: Valkyrie%20no%20Bouken%20-%20Toki%20no%2...%20(J).png]

So I raise you the question... If the gamedevs used the sprite appearance of the character as a base for the official art, how would the characters look like?

I posted this in the doodles thread but I'll put it here, too.

I want to see your take on sprite-based character design!

Hi, I'm Mr. Conehead. Last night, I hit the jackpot when I was going through my copy of Ace Combat 04 and found 192 sound effects through using a software called PSound. I decided to make an account here so I can share these sound files for everyone to enjoy! Interestingly, I don't know if I am the first one to find this, but the first sound titled "BD_00000" is a hidden pac-man death sound. I'm guessing that Namco made this easter egg for all of the sound rippers out there, or theoretically, it could be played in game through a cheat code we have never seen in its past 15 years of existence. I also found many other sounds, such as some hydraulic sounds, some high pitched copies of existing sounds, the menu sounds such as the select sounds, radio noise, and engine sounds. You may be thinking; "Why would you do this?", "Is this illegal?", "Don't you risk accidentally deleting stuff off the disk, and "How did you do this? I want to do the same!" The reason I did this was because that I couldn't find a single perfect Ace Combat sound effect on any website, so I decided to do this on my own. Is this illegal? I have really no idea, but I hope this won't violate Namco's copyrights. You actually can't tamper any of the files on the disk due to the fact that the disk has SCEA protection. You can rip sounds off of any game using a software called "PSound". Just download the program and insert your PS2 DVD-ROM into your optical disc drive, and scan all of the files for sounds. You can then copy these sounds to your hard drive and save them as .wav files.
Here are some tweets i posted during my audio ripping:

Also, when I was looking through some files, I found one file... ehh... I forgot what it was called... I know it had a 12 at the end. I think it was audio for the interludes; I found out that the file had 66,666 KB of data. Yeah, really creepy... I think this might be another easter egg too.

Making sprite animations more fluid...

I have a general spriting question...How would I add more fluidity to the way a character animates? The way Sonic looks in this ROM hack explains what I'm curious about:

Now, I know the straightforward and simple answer to my question is to just do it. Spend hours and hours drawing it all out by hand, right?

I'm wondering if there are any...Not shortcuts, per say, but just a slightly more efficient way to add fluidity to sprite animations. The software I use are Manga Studio (actually pretty helpful with drawing sprites, to be honest) and Photoshop. I'd appreciate any suggestions. c:

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games skeleton help

Hi guys.

I've wanted to have some help about the models' skeleton of Mario & Sonic Rio 2016 (I like to abridge names). I've extracted the models' PAC (thanks to RTB for the correct Pacpack) and now, I'm stuck at the conversion to fbx because even if I place the .model (mesh) file and the .skl.hbx (skeleton) file into modelfbx.exe (found in the Sonic Lost World Ripping Tools archive), the model still have only the root bone. According to a thread, I tried to convert the skeleton files to a older version... still no bones... or with another version of the skeleton converter, it crashes at the end. I've also tried to use modelfbx.exe with a command prompt... crash. Did I missed something? Is there any solution about this?

Notes:
Conversion target: Rosalina
Files I'm trying to convert: ros_b_skl.hkx / ros_b_L_swim.model / ros_f.skl.hbx / ros_f_L_swim.model
OS: Windows 8.1 Professional x86

BTW, don't worry if I'm answering very lately. It's because I'm from France. And I know that some people of you are from the United States. Not all, I know... but that's better than nothing.

Heya Cute  I  have been following The Models Resource for quite some time, and felt like being more active in the community. I will apologize ahead of time for any noobish mistakes I will inevitably make, but I look forward to anything I might be able to contribute. My modeling program of choice is Blender, and my skills are mediocre at best (in my opinion, anyway).

MLDT/PJ style Turbo/King Candy sprite

Hi, since I am planning to make a fangame in the art style of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, I decided to see how well I can make custom sprites in that style. This character, originating in Wreck-it Ralph, will not be in the fangame (as it's technically still set in the Mario universe) but since I recently rewatched that movie I decided to use him for my first serious attempt at the style (and one of my first serious attempts at spriting in general). So what do you think?

Whas is the File Format?

Hello all, Midday here.

I'm just wondering if anyone here who can look into the game files of either Pokemon X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Sapphire can help answer a question for me?

I just want to know what is the file format used for fonts used in one of those four games?

Thanks!

P.S. Not sure if this is the right board...

Question about NSFW rips.

Not to sound over the top or anything. But I think there should be some sort improvement for NSFW posts? Because I have seen some sheets that still show some NSFW content, but are not labelled. As an example when I was on the front page on the Spriter's Resource. I saw a legit sprite sheet for the game Gingiva that was a a slit wrist.

It was related to the game and everything. But the sprite itself was NOT labeled NSFW, despite the gore/disturbing images. This would also mean it was approved by someone as not a NSFW sheet. I revised it as NSFW, as expected. And was approved.

What I'm am saying is that maybe the people who have the power approve of the sheets, should have the ability to revise sheets to be NSFW before being approved. That is, if they don't.

Probably just asking for too much.

I was bored some time ago and I made a Pixel Art of Dragon Ball. Now I decided to continue working on it. Feedback is welcome.
