Mario and Luigi: Dream Team

All right, I'm sure you may or may not know that for ages I've been trying to properly rip the Giant Luigi model from Mario and Luigi: Dream Team. For as long as I've gone on about it as many methods as I've figured out, I've had no luck at all. Can someone help me finally get this model?

So, This is something I've been wanting to do for a while now.
Basically, this is a port of the arcade game of the same name (it's pretty cool if you're into fighting games, I recommend it), and I was wanting to rip some sprites of it.
...The thing is, it seems to have some custom(?) compression on most of the sprites, and I don't exactly want to rip every sprite from VRAM.
Basically, anyone think they can figure this out?  Or if someone already has (which I doubt), can point me in the right direction.

Hey there, I want to take a look at some models in the Legend of Korra game by Platinum Studios and they're packaged in the .dat format, but I'm not sure how to unpack them and take a look at the files using Noesis.

Can anybody help me out?

So while I was ripping the Genesis tiles for Bubsy the Bobcat I discovered that there was a remake of the game made for PC with remastered graphics called Super Bubsy.

I managed to get my hands on a copy and it's pretty neat but I have no idea how to get into the game's archives.

It seems the sprites are kept in the Spr_Bub.fst file.

I think the tilesets are kept in the .gam files, though there are a lot of them.

If anyone is up to ripping from the game I know I'd be mighty grateful. Big Grin

Yes, one exists.
I found it somewhere once and am currently using it now.
Sadly enough, it's in Chinese, but still pretty simple to navigate.
Can someone try to find all the text used in the UI and translate it, please?

Does anyone know how it is possible to run web-player games for Unity using an executable file with OpenGL on the desktop, and thus playing them offline? I can´t find any responses online that involves the web-player games to be run using an executable file.

I've been trying to figure out Excite Truck, though I have zero skills in actually programming side and no skills in the hex side of things so I'm getting nowhere fast. I'm wondering if anyone here knows how these models work? *.CAR, *.TOC, *.TRK .. Tracks more than likely being the TRK files this time, vehicles being CAR I'd imagine. I'm used to TRK from another game which is just a fancy text file. Opening with text this time shows the first digits are OSTR4, which is about as far as I've gotten. Anyone else know?

Windwaker Textures

So I had my first dabble in ripping the other day...
Going by this video I was able to extract a few files I wanted (I'm planning on 3d printing all of Links items).

One part that didn't seem to come out is the textures. For example, I got the mesh for the grappling hook exported as a 3ds file along with 3 tga files but no texture shows up in Rhino or 3d max16.

What step am I missing?

(btw: I shared the modified mesh here:- Thingiverse)

Hi, I'm working on a tool to view and convert Playstation TMD Models, TIM Images and other files.

The tool analyses files inside a folder, returns a log with the resources found, and shows the resources in a graphical interface.

The tool will be open-source (C#).

The idea is to implement other common Playstation file formats (PXL, HMD, TOD) with the time.

Hey all. So...I've finally managed to get everything working to extract and convert Okami models into something useful. However, my main intent is to rip Issun and Yami's various forms (fishbowl included). I've not had a problem finding Issun's related brres files thanks to deep searching, but...unfortunately I simply cannot find any tell as to what Yami's brres files would be even with deep search. I really want to get these together but I'm having a lot of trouble finding Yami and his various forms. Can anyone help, or have any suggestions what his internal file/texture names might be?

so i used to be on this site a couple years ago
long story short i believe i made the dick move of joining underage but i guess the mods didn't ban me? they just told me to behave or something and it would be fine. of course im old enough now but anyway
i literally only came back cuz of nostalgia because i dont use the username "fallen" in anything anymore due to some jerk from skype who p much stalked me online while i had it but eh that was years ago

but i guess if anyone who remembers me wants to talk then uh
sure why not : P

prob wont be on for much longer, though, just a couple minutes. might post samples of stuff ive done over the years in creative if i feel like it, but thats not likely

edit: oh yeah is it possible to change usernames? i feel like changing mine even though ill never be on here anymore but its probably not worth it

What I mean by that is what are games that take a common trope of its era and give its own personal spin?

I'll start for example. We all know Kirby right? Eat everything, take powers, la la la, a fun and quirky adventure.

Now let's take a look at an old gem for the Famicom: Yume Penguin Monogatari. Simply put, your girlfriend decides to dump you because you can't stop stuffing yourself with food. She goes off with some creep who wants nothing to do with you, so he ends up trying to stop your efforts of losing weight in order to win back your loved one. The game itself has a similar vibe to the many Kirby platformers, except you have to think about what you eat, otherwise you'll gain weight. So, unfortunately you're not a round puffball that has an infinite vortex inside of him, you're just an unhealthy penguin.

So what are some games you can think of that put a clever spin on a genre/trope of games?

Server Shutdown Tonight

Hey everyone. I just wanted to give you all a heads up that I'll be shutting down the server tonight at around 10Cute0 eastern. The datacenter we're in has detected an issue with the power line our server is attached to and will be shutting down all servers connected to it some time between 3 and 6 AM tomorrow. In order to ensure we don't lose anything, I'll be shutting down well before that. It means all sites and services will be down for about 12 hours but it's worth it to avoid corruption. If anyone has any questions, let me know but otherwise, expect everything to go down tonight and be back up tomorrow morning.

Persona 3 models are ruining my life

Hi! I'm attempting to view/mess with Persona 3 models. Here's what I've done!



> Extracted/viewed models with noesis
> exported models into desired file formats (obj and dae/that collada one)
> attempted to mess with/view in Blender.


HOWEVER

When I open up either file format in blender the textures won't display on the model at all. What am I doing wrong/what should I do? I'm using the most recent Noesis (I think, I just downloaded it this morning) and Blender.

i'm 22 and i'm from south america. Pixelated art has always fascinated me but at the same time I have never taken the time to learn or see the work of others.. Until Now. After all this time about not knowing what to do with my life I finally come to a conclusion. I want to be a pixel artist and maybe later an Indie game developer. This journey will be hard because, first my English is not very good, second Pixel art in South America and especially in my country It's not well known (both a curse and blessing). And Third I haven't drawn in aeons, and sincerely I lost my touch, I'm not good at drawing right now.

I just bough GraphicsGale, but I think I should start first with Ms Paint. My knowledge about a such a simple program like Paint is almost zero. By this I mean I don't even know the basics nor the fundamentals. 

That Will Be my first step. Learn the basics and fundamentals (preferably on PAINT) Where can I learn this?

Sprite Rip Request?

Hi there, I'm new to the forum though I've been using this site forever.

I was wondering if there is a specific thread or place here that I could request a sprite rip?  I'm looking for Sabin's sprite from FF Brave Exvius, and need it as part of a commission.  I'm also up for learning how to rip sprites from that game, as I feel they should be up on the main site.

Any information would be appreciated.
