Hi The Video Games Resource, I am ex-moderator and current meme queen Claire Thoen. Formerly known by my The Spriters Resource username, Sengir, I was once the host of such events as: Halloween (Vlad III), Valentine's Day (Saint Valentine), The GameDev Lounge (Sengir)

Today I am a simple fugitive on the run from the fly-swattin' hand of the The Video Games Resource Forum Staff government. I am requesting a full reversal to my permanent-ban status on the Sengir account, from which I will post a variety of cool GameDev things, like this cool game I'm working on right now (it's isometric and gay but not explicitly gay but very explicitly isometric). I will also post cool things about Video Games and pixel art, two things beloved by this fine community.

I know I literally joined a few weeks ago, but I'm not really not interested to use the site anymore.

I made it because I wanted to submit some custom sprites and ripped sprites, but I really hate all of the time it takes for them to look at it. So, I just feel like quitting.

I know this has been asked several times before by others, but it never got resolved.

Using any 3D ripper with any Dreamcast emulator will get you flattened models. Supposedly, you can "re-inflate" these models, but I've never been able to do that. Now, allegedly, if you use nulldc's stereoscopic plugin, this won't always happen. The problem is that new versions of the emulator don't include or officially support the plugin

Well, when I replace the current plugin with the stereoscopic one, it claims there isn't a plugin at all. I was able to find an old version of the emulator that still officially supported it. However, when I start the emulator with 3D Ripper DX, the emulator instantly stops responding.

After some research, I discovered that this method will absolutely never work on any operating system after Windows XP. So I ran it on my Virtual PC running Windows XP, and...

...the emulator refused to start at all, even by itself: "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." Newer versions start fine, but not the one I need. Looking up this problem, I came upon the suggestion to install VisualC++. I did, and nothing changed.

So, can anyone provide insight into any of these problems?

So I got my hands on the RomFS of this game, and have been looking through it. The layout is pretty simple, but the files themselves are a bit unusual. I was hoping someone could help figure out how to rip models and textures from this game properly. Here's some samples to have a look at.

I know Klonoa 2 textures can be ripped with GGD tools but I don't have enough time or experience to do that. Basic gist is, KLDATA has all the textures/models/sounds in it, HEADERPACK has header data, so it might be important as well.

Hey guys.

Since I started on the walking graphics for Bleach: The 3rd Phantom, I figured I may as well go the full mile and handle the battle screen sprites too.  Unfortunately, they're in a .cpk file that I'm having some trouble puzzling.

This is the cpk and these are the files it yields using Quick BMS.  I've tried using a .cpk unpacker as well, but it just gave me a bin file I couldn't use.

It looks like all the Bleach games use this same format, so if someone can help me with this, I'll be able to fill in the other games as well.

throw out ideas. vg ideas. name ideas.

ive been stumped on thinking up a name for my game and sometimes ill just say random words or sentences and see what happens

also its nice to bounce ideas off people so one person's spitball might be another person's gold or no that sounds gross. but i mean GameFreak made a Horse Racing Solitaire game so theres really no bad idea just an unrefined idea or sometimes a bad idea but 


what if those episodes of Dr Who where the different Doctors meet up and work together except all the Family Feud hosts meet up and its a time travel trivia rpg and each host has their own stats

or like. rhythm sports game where the beat is a sample of fans stomping or clapping from the bleachers and the rhythm itself can be affected by how good you are aka how much everyone is cheering you on. like a battle rhythm game

Heyya! Sorry if this is gonna seem annoyingly amateur, but does anyone know how possible/difficult it is to rip from the Style Savvy 3DS games? (Girls Mode in Japan and New something Boutique in PAL) I adore the games to bits, and realized having the items would be super nice for me and what I want to do.

I reeeallly want to rip them...or, know how to, anyway. However, whenever I look up how to rip from 3DS games, it always seems oddly confusing like it skipped the first step or like I don't have something I should....my apologies, as I sometimes don't understand certain phrasing but i believe I can do it. I really don't want to put the burden on anyone else and I'd love if I could get to do it.

I have both games in physical cart form, and 2 functional 3DS systems; a standard XL and a small "New" (tho the XL has troublesome wifi now). I have no external tools or anything, so if that's what I need then pleeease inform me, as somehow I always miss that. Also, I've always been a goody-two-shoes and have never done homebrew anything, if that paints a picture here...

..and I hear at least LM Dark Moon is difficult/currently impossible to rip from, so I didn't know if it was just an odd one out or if many 3DS games were like that.

I am wondering, because recently, a Super Mario 64 romhack called "Last Impact" came out, and it has quite a large chunk of content from newer Mario games devamped in N64 style. Which I really want to rip.

Most of the models are original, from what I've seen. And I know Sprite rips from romhacks/mods are allowed, so I wondering for the same with models.

Recently i finally got a good model of Toothless
from HTTYD, the model was awesome but the texture is extremely low.
I want enchance the texture, from 251 to 2084....
There the small textures i edited a little.
