Port mockups/palette swaps thread

Hey all, thought I'd post this thread here since I think it's more likely to get some contributions. 
Lately I've taken an interest in mockups of game ports from one system to another, specifically demakes to the SMS. Using paint.net with the selective palette plugin (or Gimp if the palette you want to convert to uses 256 colors or less), you can replicate a console's palette and then auto-convert a screenshot to that palette. 

The result tends to be pretty decent, but usually you can improve things a lot with some tweaking by hand. I looked up the values for the SMS and MD and had a go with some SNES and MD games, and to my surprise they look pretty good. Using color reduction to 32 or 64 colors respectively in Gimp didn't even change anything in most cases. Obviously the sprite size, resolution, sub palette and tileset limitations aren't really considered here but still. If anyone's interested in trying this themselves, below I have linked to palette files (.txt files, name them however you want) for the SMS and MD palettes to use with paint.net, and the plugin.

Valve _C Files Conversion

I'm working on a project that i wish do from a long time,
But actually i'm stuck... :/

How i can easily convert these files, and relatives:
VMDL_C
VTEX_C
VMESH_C
VMAT_C
VAGRP_C
[OT: also VSND_C]

I cnow that must be decompiled to "classic" valve file
But i don't find a simple way to do it.

I use win XP x86, hope is not a problem...

Someone can help me?

Also i see that is the same file of dota files,
So i search around also for dota conversion

I'm sharing my mostly complete but still very much a WIP MaxScript (well, set of scripts) to load Persona 5's (and P4D) animations and models.

Features:
  • Proper loading of meshes and materials (additional info in the listener window)

  • Rigging is applied

  • Weapon, character and level models are supported and..

  • Level textures are converted from their custom format into DDS (this requires you to keep the original folder structure intact)

  • Partial animation support. For now it only loads the first animation in a .GAP file. Sometimes GMD files also contain animations but those will be skipped.

  • Some MaxScript code you might find useful if you're into developing scripts yourself

  • Also loads models from Persona 4 Dancing All Night, but does not yet support loading the faces (p5 doesn't use them)
Current issues:
  • Some models are displaced, and I cannot find the reason as to why. Be sure to check your models thoroughly! If you have any idea, please let me know.

  • Materials load properly but their parsing is mostly brute forced and can possibly break. Figuring these out has proven to be quite difficult. Again help would be appreciated.

  • Some models don't load because of embedded particles (most of the enemies in p5). I don't know how to parse these, so until then models containing these will not load.

  • Rare bug that causes garbage face data to appear, I'm not sure as to why this happens.

  • Due to use of FileIn to seperate code, the script will now no longer work when run in the editor (Evaluate All). Thanks Autodesk
Important notes:
This script is developed for 3ds Max 2016. If you have any issues other than the ones listed above, please make sure you're using this version. I do not intend to support older versions of Max as anyone can get a free download of the latest one and quite a few MaxScript features are blatantly broken in them.
Oh yeah, please retain the folder structure, otherwise the script won't work. All files are needed.

Well this has been a problem for me for ages, and I have been trying to rip this for a very, VERY long time. I'm trying to rip models of the Evil Pigs, the boss ones that is, and most importantly, the Final Evil Pig. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to properly rip from this game, or any other PS1 games for that matter. This has been one I've been wanting for ages and I have no other choice but to ask for help now. I'd like all of the boss pigs, but will settle for just the Final Evil Pig, if it can be done at all...

Hi, guys. ^^;

I don't suppose anybody could help me out with a project that I'm doing for someone special?

You see, the thing is I have this friend on deviantART who makes character builders for certain animations that he creates on his YouTube channel: http://kphoria.deviantart.com/

I was hoping to upgrade some of the character builders using the various Paper Mario Character Rigs from Sticker Star and Color Splash.

I'm able to use most of the Character Rigs from Sticker Star, but Color Splash is going to be a problem because of all those Pre-Assembled Sprites. Sad

So... I was wondering if anybody would like to help make a bunch of Custom-Made Paper Mario Character Rigs based on characters from Color Splash? (You know, as in chop certain sprites into pieces and make them work like the sprites seen in sheets from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Super Paper Mario?)



If nobody accepts, then I can try to do some myself.

But whatever you do, please do not insult my friend in any way.

He may be into creepy stuff like character vore, but in reality, he is a very nice guy. Smile And I am very glad to be his friend.

Metroid fusion SFX [Request]

I have no idea on how to rip sounds and I'm on a really short time schedule, we have to remake a game in my Computer Science, class and I chose to expand Fusion by adding more length into the sectors and making sector 1 have a greater purpose. Does anyone have Metroid Fusion SFX like shooting, jumping, taking damage etc, pretty much everything I need.

Planning on creating a project that demos various 2D platformer type sprites by letting you switch between them while running around a simple map. I want to add some great examples so I came to the experts. What is your favorite animated game sprite or sprites?

Been a long time fan of Spriters Resource. 
Thank you rippers and artists for building the best archive to date! 

Lately I have been gifted with magical programming powers that I wish to use to make many 2D pixelated games.

Here is my first one. It is fairly simple. The only thing you can do is drag some items around the map and watch the chao be happy or grumpy.
This game will run on just about every device thanks to HTML5.

The project could become more in depth with more chao types, events, sound, stats, alignment, ai, items, mini games, etc. 
I used to LOVE playing Sonic Adventure 2 Battle Chao Garden with my little brother so many years ago... To remake a 2D version that runs on every browser in the world (save ie) would be a "dope" accomplishment.

That all takes time though. So I am not completely sure I'll stick with this. Especially if people think it is a bust. 

So I am looking for some feedback based on the prototype as is. Also if anyone knows phaserjs/javascript and wants to lend a hand, we can collab-a-dab-dab the code on github Smile

I hope that someone upload the FNAF characters, by custom section, but because look no one here is interested on making FNAF models, or requesting it,
i'll did it.
So i now:
1)Ask here if someone can made and upload 3D models of FNAF characters/loctions
2)Send one single message to some of who did the best fnaf 3D models related on the web, to join this community and share his works.

P.S.
Also i add a little note, i'm a noob, dont hate me i'm poor of esperience, sorry if i sometimes do goofy things, or for my english errors, im foreign.
