New Feature: Zip Contents

0
0
As I just mentioned in this week's tSR update, Dazz and I have just finished adding in a new feature to all of the sites. Now, you can preview the files within any zip file on the site. You can't actually download or view individual files but you can get the full list of files contained in the archive. We hope this helps and as always, if you have any questions or notice anything wrong, please let us know here!

To head off the one issue I foresee coming up, you do need to refresh a couple of times to get the updated stylesheets and scripts to load before it will work correctly.

Playstation 4 and Xbox one

So, I've been exploring this site for the past year now, and I am very happy it exists. I have really gotten my feet wet with 3d animating since coming here. However, I do have a question that's been nagging me since day one : Why are there aren't any playstation 4 or xbox one models here? Don't take this as a request or anything. I am just curious. Are they too hard to rip? Is there something about the game's software? Or is as simple as no one has gotten around to it?

Side note: i have a few WOW models from a friend of mine. Should I upload them? I ask because i notice that there isn't a tab for World of Warcraft under the PC section. Is there a reason for that, or is it that no one has simply gotten around to it?

Extract Images from .obm file?

Good day, Smile
I would like to know if there is any method to extract the images inside a .obm file so that you can make a .gif file with the images.

This is the file.

Amiga Ripping Methods?

Heyo, VGR. It's Neon! Big Grin

So I was thinking about ripping the enemies from the Amiga version of First Samurai (Reason is because in the SNES port, the developers decided to redraw the human enemies as demons, goblins, and robots for some odd reason.), but I need some help. Do any of you know some good methods for ripping sprites (not backgrounds) from Amiga games?

If so, please share them with me cuz I couldn't find any on the site's search function.

[Tony Hawk's Underground 2 GC] -- Ripping/Editing Music Files

0

Hello. I'm trying to edit the music of the Gamecube version of Tony Hawk's Underground 2 (to insert my own custom soundtrack). Opening up the ISO, there is a music folder filled with an ogg file for every song. Understandably, trying to play these files in VLC didn't work, and replacing any of these files and then trying to play the song in game would cause all music to no longer work.

Using Dolphin's Log feature, I decided to check if these files were even the music files. According to the log file, these ogg files weren't even being loaded while the music was playing, but rather a different file "streamsn.wad". Trying to discover if this file was related to any sound effects in the game and not the music, I ripped the file from the game and played it in Winamp, but found it only plays a 4 seconds of different voice clips. However, I don't think this is all there is considering the file is over 100MB large.

So this is where I am. Is there any way I could open up this wad file to see what's inside?

GameBoy/VirtualBoy Palette

I was looking for Super Mario Land sprites in Spriter Resource, when i notice one thing... that wasn't the right colors, i mean just look it:

Shouldn't looks like that, i think that should looks like this:

Better, don't you think? What i'm trying to say is that we need a color base to know what colors should have gameboy games... here i'll post the gameboy real palette:

And Virtual Boy too:

I'm not 100% sure that this are the correct palettes so let me know if i'm wrong, i want to fix the GameBoy/VirtualBoy sprites but first i need to know the right palette!

More of a question than a request

So I came to the Modeler's Resource looking at the new Pokémon rips, when I'm curious to know what anyone here does with them. I mean, do you mess around with them in Blender/Maya? Can you use the rips from here and put them directly into SFM? Actually, shouldn't one try to set up a rig for them first before utilizing them in SFM? I'd like some closure of this sort of thing, since 3D models are clearly a world apart from just simple sprite editing.

Final Fantasy XV What Are Your Thoughts?

After 10 long years of development, an engine change, a console generation jump, 2 director changes, and a rename, what do you think of Final Fantasy XV now that it's finally out?

I for one think it's a great addition to the series. It doesn't live up to expectations (how could it), but it's still a very good game with some of the most likable characters in the franchise and fun combat. I think it came about as close as it possibly could to living up to the hype.

Ripping .fsb sound files from Wii games?

I've gotten some sound files in the file of .FSB, a common Wii sound file from my knowledge. But I can't seem to find the right program to properly extracted them. Most of the time, the files would be invalided, or just make static noises. Cry

Does anyone know what can open EA Sports DAT files?

I'm trying to crack open NASCAR Thunder 2003/2004 for PS2, since I know there's likely to be unused content in these games, but I'm not sure how to open the DAT files that everything seems to be stored in. Is there any tool out there that can do this, maybe repurposed from Madden's modding community or something of the sort?

Secret Santa 2016 Sign-up!!!

It's time for...

Secret Santa 2016

Well actually it's a bit late, oops. Thanks to Demonlemon for reminding me!

If you don't know, here's how the Secret Santa works. Each person is assigned a gift recipient who they have to make a gift for, but nobody knows whose recipient they are. The gift can be pretty much anything. Traditionally most people make drawings, but it can also be a song, animation, video, even a game. It doesn't have to be amazing either, as long as you put some effort in and have fun!
Once you're done you PM the gift to me, and at the end I'll reveal all the gifts and who they're for (but not who made them).

This thread is for signing up to the event; just post here saying you want in! You might also want to give a little list of your interests or things you like, to give your Secret Santa some ideas for how to theme their gift.
Please sign up only if you're confident you'll actually be able to make your gift in time. It's not nice to get a gift without making one!

Since I'm a bit late with this, the sign-up date will be the December 11th, 3am PST, and the deadline for the gifts will be December 30th, 3am PST. I will then reveal them later on at 6pm on the same day. (If people want we can change these dates around a bit.)

Leisure Suit Larry SFM/Gmod model (will pay if necessary)

[Image: latest?cb=20130522103737][Image: MCL2.jpg][Image: 180?cb=20110310232446]
For a machinima project I'm working on, I'd like to have a modified port of a character model from Leisure Suit Larry - Magna Cum Laude. I want Larry Laffer's model specifically, not Larry Lovage or any of the girls. I'd love a younger version made as the game only features Mr. Laffer as a cameo, aged and writing to his nephew, Mr. Lovage, the game's protagonist. If this is not possible, I could try a texture edit myself to make him younger-looking. It seems like Lovage has a more appealing design, if only by comparison Unsure , so if the model has to be frankensteined to look better, that could work.

On top of this, I'd like to have it rigged, flexed, and usable in Source Engine utilities such as Garry's Mod and Source Filmmaker. Either is fine if not both. The flexes do not to be to the detail of HWM, but basic phonemes and expressions would be nice.

I'm willing to pay between $30 and $60 dollars for a good port, but I'd like to see if it can be ripped first before I pay for a conversion and rigging job.

Heya! It's been a lil while since I've joined up here, haha. I've been super busy with school lately, but since that's driving me completely nuts, I took a break to do some pixel stuff! I'm just starting to dip my toes in again, which has been interesting to say the least. It's kind of like learning how to redraw, lol

Don't have too much to post quite yet, but I finished up these portraits today:

Not 100% feeling them quite yet, but there are definitely things that I like! I think the colours are tripping me up a bit, and of course any and all critique is welcome! Hopefully I'll have some more stuff to post soon! (I'd really like to try some sort of sprite sheet or something as that's completely new territory to me)
