So THIS is where all the spriters went.

Hi everyone. I'm Mr. 86, self-proclaimed jack of all trades. I do a little of everything - writing and drawing mostly, but I also dabble a tiny bit in music. Anyway, I'm working on a game (teaching myself programming as I do so), and I'm mainly here to get feedback on my sprite work, since it's something akin to 16-bit, as well as to look for anyone else interested in a passion project. So! Who might all of you weirdos be? Tongue

Original characters in a game I'm designing

I hadn't done spriting in years until I decided to make these, but my artistic skills have improved a fair bit from what they used to be back in 2006 when sprite comics were all the rage.

Anyway, as it says, these are characters I created myself for a game I'm trying to put together. The game itself is a hack-and-slash platformer with a Metroidvania-style method of progression and the ability to acquire weapons from bosses a la Mega Man. Most of the information I could provide would be loaded with spoilers, and since I actually plan to put this game together and sell it like a professional, I'm hesitant to say much. So prepare for a lot of ambiguous language. Anyway, to business.

^The main character. Original flavor on the left. When they have a weapon equipped, they borrow design elements like a hairstyle and an accessory (like the spiked collar or the earring) from the boss.

^One of the bosses, a sentient rose with a goth punk aesthetic. Something about the shading on her leaves bothers me, but I can't quite place it.

More will come as I get it done.

Nice to meet you all!!

Er, hi! Sorry, don't know how formal to be here i haven't used a proper forum in ages but uh! I come here on a mission! Which I'll probably post about in the rigging forum, but uh, long story short: I'm trying to rip models from a mobile game.

I have no experience whatsoever with rigging and very little experience with computers, and the internet is a total void on this type of thing, so after nearly a month of research I'm... pretty desperate. (I've downloaded the apk and opened it to find loads of bin files, which I'm pretty sure I can't do anything with).

I'm kind of a disaster (read: if something can go wrong, it will), and will usually get directions wrong unless they're very explicit, so please be patient with me! (Sorry in advance ;-Wink

Ripping from mobile (as a complete beginner)

alright i've already written this post and scrapped it once, sorry if this seems super informal,,,

- I'm trying to rip character models from a mobile (iOS/Android) game called "World Trigger: Smash Borders" (it is entirely in japanese)
- the title is indeed a pun on smash brothers
- I think it is also available for PS Vita (also in japanese) but i don't have access to that
- i have downloaded the .apk but considering I did so a month ago (i have been trying to figure out how to do this on my own for a month) it is actually out of date, I need to download the latest update
- i opened the .apk with bandizip and it's mostly .bin files, there are a few .xml files and some other stuff too but it is mostly just .bins
- I don't know exactly what I'm looking for, but i'm pretty sure it isn't .bin files
- i have ventured into the seventh circle of hell and back to get here and i am not stopping now
- google tells me to use disunity on it but i do not know where/how to get that and apparently it involves command lines????? I do not know how to use command lines but i am here to learn these things if anyone is willing to explain
- pics of the game, and of my progress (if you can call it that)
- i really don't know what I'm doing

i think that is all????? please lmk if you need any more info (and where i can find it if its something, uh, not obvious),, I really have no idea where to start with this i've never ripped anything before, sorry.... Any help is really appreciated!!

Hey! Looking for something classic to rip? Maybe a game with some tools that people have already made to make ripping easier? Have I got a project for you!

Super Metroid!

The section we have is a mess, made up of old sheets and inexperience. As one of the best games on the SNES, I'd like to make sure we have a proud place for it here. There's a topic already started in the Project Organization section; https://www.vg-resource.com/thread-30317.html

Please help us out!

MvC3: Textures request

Hello,

With Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 ports for PC coming out soon, I really want to get into its eventual modding scene. I'm really hope someone can help by ripping the existing textures for all the regular and alternate costumes for Textures Resource. Right now, only some of the regular costumes are available on models that have been ripped on model's resource.

In particular, I REALLY want the ones for Spider-Man (The symbiote costume especially because it's easy to alter). I'd love if someone could do this.

NES Palette

Ok... i made a thread about the GameBoy and VirtualBoy Palettes but now i ask, what is the correct NES Palette?

I found the sprite of Mario from Super Mario Bros. and looked like this:

Looks normal... but i was looking for the NES Palette and when i compare the Mario Sprite with the NES Palette... didnt look the same... why? If that is the real nes palette, why doesnt look the same? Here i put a really good image that explains the NES Graphics:

Overwatch Ripping Thread

As you may know, I've recently delved into the files of Overwatch and managed to PROPERLY extract an entire model, alongside possible working animations. Special thanks to Random Talking Bush for aid in converting textures properly. I'll be illustrating on here the steps required in order for extraction, as I can't do this all on my own. It's a basic knowledge of understanding how the textures are used in the engine. Here's a few things you're going to need:

Peardian's Texture Remix
Noesis(For Texture Conversion)
Over Tool for Initial Extraction
OPTIONAL: OWMImporter for importation of models. (Can use the model tool that's contained in overtool as well.)
Overwatch Animation Converter:
.zip   Overwatch_anim.zip (Size: 25.46 KB / Downloads: 1)
-Some version of Blender

Step 1: Extraction

Read this thread here on how to extract using OverTool(Much easier than explaining it)
https://owdev.wiki/Tutorial/Extracting_with_OverTool

Step 2: Conversion of Textures
Step 2-A: Using batch folder processing, open all of the *.dds textures in Noesis and convert them all to *.PNG.

Diffuse Texture Conversion:
Mask Map Conversion (Oh my gosh PLEASE read!!!):
Normal Maps:
Step 3: Animations
That's really it, just import the models using the OWMImporter linked above, and export as a .dae (Only dae submissions will be accepted, as a model-checker as I KNOW it's easily do-able). Make sure to follow all the standards TMR requires in submissions, and have fun ripping! Here's a list of models already up:

Questions? Comments? Concerns? Ask below, I'd love to help!

An Assassin's Creed side-character & historical accuracy

Not sure if anyone's done a thread about this, but I thought I'd do one anyway.

Now I've never played any of the Assassin's Creed games, nor am I an avid fan, but one thing I do know is that each game takes place in a certain historical timeline and the guys at Ubisoft try their best to make those settings as historically accurate as possible...but there's one game that has me scratching my head in confusion. Blank

I read over on a  GameFAQs forum that Assassin's Creed: Syndicate features a side-character that is (apparently) a FTM transgender. But since the game takes place in 19th century London, I have one question:

Did transgenders even exist in the 1800's?

Emil Chronicle Online models

Please!
I've been looking all over the place to try and get these models, whether I download them or rip them myself and I can barely find anything.

I'd really like to study (with) these models since they are practically perfect for what I am doing; any help on how to get them would be most appreciated (whether they are rigged or unrigged, downloaded or ripped)

( This is a browser game so I don't have a clue on how to rip them either; I tried downloading a client version but I couldn't even update to try and rip since the JP server refuses non-JP connections so I'm completely lost Sad )

Thank you!

Anyone know how to extract this .PSB file?

There is only one thing left to complete the DB Fighting Climax Ignition sprites: the character portraits in story mode.
The problem is that they are in .PSB files (not Photoshop format) , and I can't find a way to transform it into a usable image format.
I can't give much detail of this files, but what I have found out is:
- It's a file format used by the program: Emote.
- It seems to be used in other games like NekoPara Vol.0, and should look like this spritesheet (https://www.spriters-resource.com/pc_com...eet/76643/)

I have tried some tools, but I haven't managed to work them well. One of the tools is this: https://github.com/Project-AZUSA/Emote/issues/2

Does anyone know what to do with these files?
Here's a sample: http://www.mediafire.com/file/1e95b7j6i4...e_0000.psb

All characters are ripped may need few minor editing . Otherwise here they are.  Dl here: http://dionn12345678910.deviantart.com/a...a_recent=1

To get the models seperate use blender with the pmx plugin enabled or, checked. Put the pmx model into the main folder with the non flipped models. An blender will load that model with the correct mapping. Only Rare models Conker and, Dk have few minor issues anyone could fix. Feel free to edit ect.

This is my second thread about this game.
It is in Chinese, and I was wondering if there were any Chinese speakers
or translators out on these forums.  Unsure
A lot of people probably want this. I could tell from all the fame it's getting.
All of the text is in .plist format.
I will add it as an attachment.

Bayonetta 2 model help needed

Mainly due, to 2004 hardware I really can't run newer hardware to use cemu to rip the starfox dlc of bayonetta in fox outfit. I really don't know what to do . Starfox site that had starfox 0 models ripped didn't have the model of her. while people ripped the smash bros 4 and, other wii U models of her but, no one has ripped the models or, at least from any sites relating to Bayonetta 2 ripping.

Can some one please rip her from the game. I don't care if it's not the high poly version. I just really want her. She looks pretty cute.
