Ended up getting Kosheh interested in a community project I'm a part of, so I'm here to talk about it Smile

The 'Shroom is a collection of community-written monthly news articles that is part of the Super Mario Wiki. It consists of a variety of subjects and projects run by a large number of users from said wiki.

This is a rather big community project that's been put together since 2006, a year after the Super Mario Wiki first started, and is still going strong. Users and experienced writers are welcome to sign up for a vacant position and let their knowledge and ideas be shown.

I myself have been writing the Sport Report segment under Fake News since August, where I play a Mario Sports title and write down the play by play. It's... gotten a bit tedious after a while, play-by-plays don't really work well in text, so I'm resigning from that position after this upcoming report and am moving on to the Pipe Plaza and Critic Corner sections.

Greetings to you all! My name is PowerMaster64, or Alex if you don't like screen names too much.

While I have absolutely no experience with ripping sprites or models, I do create sprites of my own. Currently I am working on two games using the RPG Maker MV engine, the names of which are "Power Master 1: A Strange Journey MV" and "Power Master 2: The Legend". You can probably tell where I got my username from Tongue
I have created one game already using the RPG Maker VX Ace program called "Power Master 1: A Strange Journey", which was released on the itch.io site about a year ago. A majority of the game used pre-made assets created by the engine programmers, so I'm remaking it using the MV engine (hence the MV in it's title) with all new assets. Currently working on seeing what I can do myself, but am always willing to accept help. Once a demo is made, I might ask around in the Creative subforum.

You may have also seen me around with various other names. I am under "Alex95" on the Super Mario Wiki and other associated NIWAs. I am also under "PowerMaster64" on DeviantArt and on my own wiki, that I use to keep my ideas straight, as well as simply "Power Master" or "Powmas" when I play games online.

SPCTool technical difficulties

About a few months ago, I've re-aquired SPCTool, a really handy SPC Player with a special feature: You can export instrument samples from an SPC into .WAV files to use in trackers or other music programs. However, I've recently run into a problem.

When I convert an SPC file's instruments into .WAV samples, and then import them into FL Studio, they don't make any sound. And when I try to listen to what the samples sound like in Windows Media Player, I get an error message saying the file couldn't play. Blank  I've never encountered this issue on my old computer (which ran on Vista), so could someone help me out here?

Secret of Evermore Dog sprites

Hi, I was hoping someone could rip the sprites for The Dog from Secret of Evermore. The Prehistoric dog is already done and looks great, but we are still missing the Sacred Dog, the Pink Poodle, and the Robot Toaster Dog (and the Dog's original form)

I saw a thread with lots of progress for Secret of Evermore but it seems to have stopped recently?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EyeToy Play music ripping

Hello, I am trying to rip the EyeToy Play PS2 soundtrack which has a .wad file which after trying all sorts of tools PSound is the only program that I have any success with. However, the music has a skipping issue which happens every 2 seconds.
Here's one of the songs as an example

Hello my dudes,

Recently I've come across this Android game called Burrito Bison: Launcha Libre and have fallen in love with the general art style of the game's graphics. So like anyone, I was hoping to get into the game's files to get some direct images of the characters to better see what I'm looking at. I've managed to locate them, but the problem is that none of them have an extension. Meaning that they're listed as a "File", with some absurd name like "0aa363c47e87bbb4cb3ccfe235cbac44". I know these are image files due to their size ranging from 5 KB to 20 MB, so I really just need to know how to view them.

As the title says, it's an Android game. It also contains no 3D models, but solely 2D graphics. See attached for a sample.

Any help would be appreciated, and thanks in advance.

How to rip a model from Tattletail?

Hello there, I'm not well versed in model ripping but, one time I ripped a model from a unity game (is wasn't Tattletail, the subject of this), and when I tried my luck on ripping models from Tattletail, I selected the files and... nothing showed up. Maybe Unity Studio was being stupid or I needed to use Noesis (which I wasn't thinking of doing with it). Help is VERY appreciated. Thanks! Big Grin

This was a not so old android game with some nice sprites which I used to play, I kinda got the bug to play it again and lo and behold, it was "online" even when it was a single player game and the servers have been dead for years. Wanted to see if I could get some graphics out at least to scratch that itch.



Attached are some sample files if someone would like to give me a hand and see if they can findanything using tileGGD or something, I have never managed to get anything out of GGD myself *shame.

Mr. Gimmick Sprites

I'm interested in ripping the sprites from this wonderful game that are not on the site, but some of them I can't seem to manage. Does anyone want to help or know a program that can rip the sprites without exhaustively screen shotting everything?

Here are the specific things I want to rip.
  • The fish swimming around the tunnel in that part from Stage 1
  • The arrow turret from Stage 3 with the projectiles
  • The alarm clock guy from Stage 2 (When you get to the boss early)
  • The mine cart you ride in Stage 5
  • The tank cart an enemy uses in Stage 5
  • The missing frames from the final boss (If you die, he  walks away)
  • The enemy from Stage 1 with the antennas (Not the boss, the little one that serves as an enemy)
  • The falling rocks and logs from the forest stage

Uh...so, this is kind of a weird request.  It's not sprites or anything, but rather textures!  I was hoping if someone here can help out with extracting all of the texture files from Kingdom Hearts 2.8.  Dream Drop Distance and 0.2.

Kind of like this.  The whole package.  I wouldn't really be asking this if I knew the process, but as far as I know, Dream Drop Distance uses the exact same code as BBS.  So, having a blu-ray drive on your PC allowing you to read the raw files is the first step?  And since 0.2 runs on Unreal Engine, I've been told it should be even easier.

As for my reasons for this request?  I help out on the KH Wiki every now and again.  For example, that texture pack I linked above?  I went through the raw files, and eventually re-compiled it into something a little more tangible and viewable, like this!  

The guy who usually extracts these things has been a little under it all lately, so I'm just asking for a little bit of help here.  Thanks!  Smile

Need Digimon World 4 Models

Hello! I've been trying to find Digimon World 4 models, specifically weapon models and character models, for a long time. While I'd love to try and extract them and rig them myself, it's just too much of a hassle for me to rip them from the game. So, now I've reached the point where I'm willing to pay for them.

I don't know how much people charge for this, so I'm willing to negotiate. I'm willing to pay $10 up front if you're interested, but again, this is negotiable.

Now, here's what I need specifically: All the weapons (Obviously, they're pretty much what's unique), the character Digivolutions (including the additional parts that appear when those Digimon are equipped with their special weapon), and the Mecha Rogues. Anything else we can discuss, those are just what I need.

Once they're ripped, the person who ripped them is free to distribute them on this site and any others (After I'm given a copy, please) with full or partial credit, and that'll do it! Thanks for your attention, PM me if you're interested, or if you have questions!

Hi,

Is there any script to convert this kind of .tex to .dds and .dds to .tex? I have tied other scripts but they don't work for this file.

This .tex is extracted from an Android game made with libGDX.
