Requesting help ripping .jmdl files (Wii Fit U)

$

Hey there!

I wanted to mess around with a couple models from Wii Fit U, and to my surprise there were no models posted on Models Resource so I thought well maybe I can rip them myself. And, needless to say, I think I might be a little bit in over my head. However, I would really love to try to get these into a workable format, so that's why I'm here.

Browsing the files, there are a handful of different formats, but the most relevant format I assume is .jmdl. I looked around quite a bit and it seems like there might be a few games that use (at least a similarly named) .jdml as well, with some people having success converting them, but not a lot of information on how to do it.

Other file formats that are seemingly important are .jarc and .carc files. Presumably these are containers for more files, but the most I could do was use a QuickBMS script on a .jarc file, which spit out a single .jmdl before crashing.

Beyond that there are also .jtex files. There aren't many of them, so I presume that textures for models are baked into the .jmdl format. But even trying to use them in a couple different versions of jTexTool I found on these forums yielded no results whatsoever.

Here are some example files using the formats I mentioned, I can upload more if requested.
.jmdl - coin.jmdl
.jarc - LoadingDemo_00.jarc
.carc - pet_test.carc
.jtex - checker128x128.jtex

But yeah, I feel like I've bitten off a little more than I can chew, but would love it if someone could point me in the right direction of getting these models into a usable format. Thanks! Heart

Hey y'all, I finally joined The VG Resource! Some of you might know me from YouTube, (although I only have 12 subscribers as of this post, I'm still saying this). I'm a modder, animator, memer, and YouTuber (thanks sherlock), and am also a part-time ripper. I don't really have much else to say, other than I always wanted to be a model ripper for DS games, so expect some of that stuff.

Guess I'm in for a ride, then.

Extracting vehicle models from Borderlands 3

Hey everyone, I've searched all over for some rips from BL3 but it seems the game is too young for anyone to have extracted any.

So if anyone could help with ripping the model for the Outrunner vehicle from the PC release, if possible in .obj format, I would really appreciate it.

Anthem javelin sounds

Hello. new here. I've have scoured everywhere I can think of on the net to try and find the sounds from the game Anthem.  I would love to get some of the sounds for the javelins and other things from the game to help in making a mod for fallout 4.  I'd also like to get the javelin suits but that maybe a little above my capabilities for modding.  Javelins in fallout 4?  how epic would that be?!  Anyways any help would be great.  I don't have the game on pc yet but I will probably buy it eventually so I could probably rip it myself if someone told me how. but any help would be great.  Thank you in advance.

Hi.  It's me.  Long time no see. Heart

So I recently came into possession of some of the Japanese sound files for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax that I've been missing.  With these, I plan on setting some time aside to finish that project, but these files were taken from the PS3 version of the game (insert joke about X-box in Japan here).  Should I create a separate upload for this game in the PS3 section for these files, or can we fudge it and keep it together with the X-box files?

Can anyone rip Ghost Master maps, models, objects?

Hey guys,

I'm wondering if anyone could rip the models from the Ghost Master game? Maps and objects would also be greatly appreciated. There are quite some characters to rip, and for some reason no one has before. Sad

This game is pretty old, but there is a sound effect in that game that I've been chasing after for years.

Would someone be able to rip the sound effects?

Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts w/ Model Ripper

So a long time ago in the far off year of 2013, a man with the username Skill created a model ripper for models in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.
Only problem is he made all the files specifically require his computer layout. He left very little information of a tutorial.

So I managed to find someone to rip the files from Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. But now I need a C# programmer to fix all of Skills' errors and give us possible insight on ripping the models (and textures) out of them.

CAFF Files are/were the files that were ripped from the game.
But because it's an unknown file type it's hard to figure out how to do these things.
Skill successfully ripped a Gruntbot and the Silver Musical Note from the game, a man by who ran Banjo's Backpack had buildings from Showdown Town too. So his files clearly work.
But they don't work on anyone else's systems.

Edit: Because the file is too large (BKextractor, Skills Model Ripper and all the character files for BKNB ) here is a link to my Google Drive.

Here's one of his infamous images. Can anyone take a look and get it to work?

You can download the models I ripped here:https://www.mediafire.com/file/irdp5ie4c...s.zip/file
I'll try to rip the dragons and bosses later. The dragon npcs have alot of glow models. That makes it harder to find all the npc models. So, I'll post the psk/ dds files later in a zip 2 download.

Here's just a example of what's in the zip folder: [Image: spyro_trilogy_model_dump___file_1_by_art...uqYe-LNEv4]

Model Cleanup Assistance (Texmod/Blender)

Heyyo everyone, new to the forums so sorry if this ends up in the wrong place or anything.

So I'm new to ripping and I have some models that come with their... issues. I'm wondering if there is an easier way I'm missing to get these models ready to go, or if they really will take a tedious while to cleanup.

My method is using Texmod with PCSX2 screencaps, which I then go to edit in blender.

Of course we know this method doesn't like giving us any T-poses but thats fine. My issue is more along the lines of countless extra faces and random vertices or edges. Lots and lots of them, in fact. that, and what seems to be second skins of the model, or tears that i need to re-attatch. I'll put the example image in attatchments. (Ignore the lack of neck faces, thats from me turning his head.)

Main question is, is there an easier way to delete all the extra edges or vertices not attatched to faces? Or the extra faces overlapping the others? 'Select->loose geometry' doesnt seem to select much of anything. Also there's still a bit of warping but I figured I could just copy/paste a mirror for some parts. Is there a simpler method people go by to clean up their rips? Or do I need to do all this 'by hand'? I would hate to do all that only to realize later I did all that work for nothing!

Second question that could be asked I suppose is there just a better method in general for ripping models from PS2 games? Or does texmod yield essentially the same results as any others?

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

I was just wondering if archives are allowed to take sprites from and upload here. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

How do you use the .zip from Github?

For years I have wonder what to do with the code people does on Github, because often of times you can only download it as .zip that often of times end in a version of the real program but unpacked and packed on a .Zip
What exactly I have to do with them? I need another tool for open/install the zip content?

SEQ and ARC filetypes?

More ripping questions; So via dolphin's filesystem tab for a game, I took out an fpk and unpacked it. This process should have gone properly as my fpk 3D models converted properly.
This .fpk gave me two files, a SEQ and an ARC file. the SEQ is titled 0000.seq, same title as the fpk obviously. and the ARC file is named like lyt_filename_.arc and my computer automatically suggested opening it with chrome, which chrome opened a tab and just redownloaded the same file. The seq filesize is 3kb while the ARC one is 2,855 kb. I tried googling these but all that came up were like... some sort of DNA thingies.

I assumed that this would be an video/audio file but I'm not sure if this needs further converting or if there is another program I could use to open these files.

Thanks in advance if anyone else is familiar with these filetypes!
