Stuck trying to find the palette files for halfbrick .tex files.

Hello! I'm currently trying to rip all the sprites from Jetpack Joyride for the Spriters Resource. I've accepted that I'm going to have to make my own tool to convert the files to a usable format, and that's fine, although I'm currently stumped. I've managed to figure out how the pixels are stored by tinkering in tile molester (see below), but I haven't had any luck finding any palette data in the sprites or elsewhere in the games files. I've attached the image below as a .tex file in case anybody is willing to take a look for me. There seems to be a 51 character header on every sprite, but no useful data in it. I'm beginning to worry that the palette is hard coded into the binary executable for the game, and will be a nightmare to dig out.

The .tex file is here:

After running the iso though Noesis it seems that all the model files are stored as .bnd

Noesis cant seem to do anything with the files after that, cant even preview them.
I've been scouring the net for answers for the past 48 hours and cant seem to find anything that works without running into shady sites that im scared are going to give me malware.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

I would really love to be able to extract those lovely mech parts.

Why, nobody ripped some more sprites on the game. They forgot to ripped the sprites for the NPC Timmy Turner, NPC Otto Rocket, NPC Danny Phantom, NPC Tommy Pickles, the Thornberry family and Darwin, the monkeys on the Rocket Power level, full rip for the playable SpongeBob, full rip for the playable Otto Rocket, and full rip for the playable Zim. I wish they should rip these sprites.

Hello,

I hit a bit of a roadblock in the game I'm ripping, I found the sounds files and a lot of the background elements but I can't find some of the sprites in the game. I think they're in the attached file but none of the programs I've downloaded for Unity extraction really work on it.

The extension is .assets.reSs. Can't really find much info on the file, does anyone know how to rip from it?

Some custom sonic pixel arts that I made at night (To be honest I don't know what game this style looks like) Blank but hey here they are! Big Grin

The ones above use a custom color palette.
And the ones below use the Sonic CD color palette.

The red square serves as a ruler for measuring sprites.
The red shell needs to shrink to put it on the sprites.

And here is a bigger version:

Can you make sprite copies of this frog and his lily-pad in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island style? Make sprite copies of this frog jumping, eating a fly, burping, talking, crying, sleeping, and add four emotions (happy, sad, scared, and angry). You can also make a copy of this lily pad in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island style just like the frog

[TUTORIAL] Disney Infinity Model Ripping

Hello, I have had a few people message me from The Models Resource asking about how to extract models from Disney Infinity.
Back in the day i did some models from DI3.0, they were denied approval because the textures were in DDS and not png so they werent uploaded and people want them, this was a few years ago and so i dont have them anymore and cant be bothered to go and do it again, and i noticed there isnt a very concise tutorial on how to do it, and im also tired of getting messages about it, so i decided to do the less time consuming option, hello, welcome to my tutorial!

Heres What you'll need
  1. Disney Infinity 3.0 (I suppose this will work for 1.0/2.0 aswell but im using 3.0)
  2. TaylorMouse's 3D Model Viewer
  3. Aluigi's QuickBMS
  4. The Accompanying Disney Infinity Script for QBMS
  5. Nvidia's Windows Texture Viewer
  6. Several buckets worth of time
Step 1: Navigate to your Disney Infinity folder in \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\-Whichever Disney Infinity Game You're on here-

Step 2: go into the "assets" folder and find the two folders marked "characters" and "textures" and copy them to your desktop.

Step 3: Open quickBMS and load the DI script, find whichever character's folder you want and open it, find the corresponding file (it should be marked as a .Zip file, its not a Zip file your computer is just stupid.)

Step 4: Extract the file to wherever you want, i recommend making a separate folder on the desktop to house your extracted models.

Step 5: Open TaylorMouse's 3D Model Viewer and navigate to the extracted folder, open the file marked (char'sname).ibuf, click the button in the model viewer marked "Export .OBJ"

Please note that TaylorMouse's 3DMV doesnt work for some models, its not my fault nor his/hers its due to Disney adjusting the way the files are structured for later addon content (I believe) so later DLC characters will likely not work, The Force Awakens and some Marvel content will come out broken! You could use HextoOBJ but i dont know how that works nor am i willing to learn and explain it here!

Step 6: Re-Open the QuickBMS script and navigate to the textures folder you previously copied to the desktop.

Step 7: Select all the "Zip" files inside and start the extraction process over again.

Step 8: Take a break man, you deserve it and this'll take a few mins.

Step 9: Copy this script into a text document and save it as "rename.bat"
@echo off

ren *.tbody *.dds

Step 10: Begin the soul crushing process of renaming all the textures, copy-paste the rename.bat file into the each folder created by the BMS script where the .tbody files are located, the script will rename them all to .dds as they are just renamed .dds files.

Step 11: Using Nvidia's WTV, navigate to the folders after running the renaming scripts and begin to search for the textures you require, they are all named with random gibberish and not in any logical sorting whatsoever so be prepared to find Mickey's texture file in folder 1 and his bump map in folder 300, and you will understand why this is so annoying to do.

Step 11.1: Theoretically you could just dump the textures with something like Ninjaripper, but I've not tested that and i don't know if it works.

Step 12: From here you shouldn't need more instruction, y'all know how models & textures work, do some porting, put that shxt in GMOD, idk.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk. Wink

SRB2 Kart - The Ancestor from Darkest Dungeon

I figured since this is something I might try to work on long term, I should make a thread for it.

The character in question is the Ancestor from Darkest Dungeon, a rogue-like (lite?) dungeon crawling RPG. He serves as the narrator for the game.

Anyway, here's what I've got so far. Hopefully, I'll be able to make some decent progress soon. I'd appreciate any critique or advice.

Mario Kart Tour Shy Guy (Pastry Chef)

I'm currently obsessed with the design of the pastry chef shy guy outfit in the mario kart app (mario kart tour). Unfortunately I don't have the best computer so I'd probably just end up overheating instead of getting a successful rip (I also don't have any storage space left...). If anyone feels up to the task to at least get the raw files from the game I can probably compile and rig it in blender (which is often what I have to do anyways since at lot of the time I end up modifying 3d models I get from here).
To clarify: I am looking or a rip of the Shy Guy (Pastry Chef [outfit/variation]) off of the mobile Mario Kart Tour game.
Thanks in advance for any who even consider helping me out :] I'm not really expecting a huge turnout from this request but I will be delightfully surprised if someone turns up with the model.

Lego dimensions sonic models in a fan game

$

Here's something that has been confusing, sega allows sonic fan games right? What if I used a lego sonic model from lego dimensions for that game? The thing is that the permission to have lego/ttgames to make a sonic dlc was from sega, but sega didnt make the lego version models of the characters, ttgames/lego did, would I get a copyright strike from lego/ttgames if I used their model for a sonic fan game? I would obviously give credit to them for the models, but that doesnt always work for some companies even if the fan game is all not profit, it isnt a lego fan game, it's a sonic fan game as like if I were to make a game where you can make sonic look like lego sonic or something. I'm not a lawyer but maybe any of you would know the response to this?

Identical sprites in different releases

$

Right now I'm in early stages of creating a few sprite sheets for Tamagotchi Connection version 3, following the version 2 project I completed a while back. I'd like to hear opinions about the following: many v3 sprites were brought over from the v2 which means some sheets will have a large number of identical sprites from the v2 where in some cases there might be sheets that are exactly the same. Should all these sprites be included in the v3 sheets or should I instead include a note pointing visitors to the v2 sheets? Or perhaps a combination of the two depending on how many identical sprites there would be in each sheet.

Mame Won't Load a Game For Me. Help?

I'm wanting to rip sprites from the arcade version of Captain America and the Avengers, however I can't boot up the game because Mame keeps giving me this message every time I try to load the ROM:

The selected machine is missing one or more required ROM or CHD images. Please select a different machine.

I don't understand. I'm quite certain the version of the ROM I downloaded (Asia Rev 1.4) is the parent ROM, but I keep getting the same message over and over again. Angry Could someone who's ripped sprites from this game please help me out here?

Sonic Riders Zero Gravity Voice Rips

$

Hey, it's been a long time since I was last here.

I've begun ripping voice clips from Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity from a Wii ISO. I've managed to find the pre- and post-race clips, but I can't find any of the in-race clips such as grunts when jumping and celebrating landing tricks.

The voice clips that I did find were in an .AFS file I opened with Noesis. There's also music and cutscene audio in basic .ADX files, and other than that it's just a lot of .P , .DAT, and extentionless files.

Does anyone have any experience with ripping sounds from Wii Sonic games, or Wii Sega games in general? Any ideas on where to look for the extra voice files? Or how to crack open the extentionless files to see if they're hiding in there? I have very little experience with hex editors.

Thanks in advance.
