it's just a question as the game has a model veiwer, and while the game might not be everyone's favorite final fantasy game. the models are really cool. has anyone ever had a chance to rip from the game? the model viewer has to be unlocked after completeing all the secret missions i believe.. (the most insane missions i'v ever seen)

Animation Question

Hey there lovely community!

I'm currently working on some sprites and I'd like to hear your opinion. Does it matter what I will use these for o_O?

Anyway here's the base stance for this character:

And here's what I'm here for:

It's a sloppy .gif and I'll update as soon as I get home. I took it with GifCam (new to this program).

Anyway, I feel uncomfortable about this animation and I would like to hear(read) your opinion. (ignore the upper body, it serves only as a place holder)

Few questions

Just wondering something super quick, completely new to ripping and all, but is there a way to rip the rigs and models together from something, like, say, Super Mario Galaxy(1/2)? I've wondered about this, because it's be so much easier than rigging the models up myself again.

Also, just wondering how you'd turn the .map files you get from Kingdom Hearts(2 in this case) into something like .obj?

Thanks for all the help to come! ^^

Just found out about this forum, and it seems like a cool place. I really want to make a request for something, but I guess I can't do that just yet, so I'm gonna try to be a part if this community while I wait! I make music and stuff, I play games almost nonstop, and if any of you want to play something with me, my PSN ID is Hed_Cheez.

Good pixel art programs for Mac?

Oh hey guys.

I've been thinking a bit lately and I want to see if I can get myself back into Pixel Art. Trouble is that most of the good programs like Graphics Gale are only for Windows to my knowledge and I made the switch to Mac since I have no time or money to even update a Personal Computer that requires me to constantly get parts just to get an upper edge on the technology I need.

I know I could get Windows 7 on this and use Bootcamp to my advantage, but as of now that's kind of unfeasible since I have no idea where all my discs for computer programs are. Until then I'm wondering if there is good software that's convenient as graphics gale that is designed for Mac?

Kirby Super Star Ultra Sound Ripping Help

Well Guys, This One's A Doozy.
Okay, So I want to rip music from Kirby Super Star Ultra. As if the title didn't give that away.
Problem:
I can't seem to hear the Files with Tinke.
I should point out that Tinke only seems to play the SWAT files just fine,
But for the SSEQ, SSAR, SBNK, And SWAR files, they don't seem to be playable.
I can extract them and change the file to something else but that's about it.
If someone knows about how to play this format, That'd Be VERY Helpful.
Oh also: I can only change to file to SSEQ, SSAR, SBNK, And SWAR. No SDAT.

What RPG Class Are You?

Just a simple question.  I'd rather not do this in poll format, so I don't miss any classes and/or hybrids.

I myself would be the Ninja type.  Using speed, stealth and jutsu, you are not only capable of a lot of AoE attacks, but also outturn everyone X number of times (assuming the Active Time Battle system), and dodge attacks frequently.  Not to mention, they are often depicted as striking critical points for deadly attacks (similar to Assassins), and thus land critical hits more often.

How do I rip these models?

Costume Quest PC version

Well I've managed to properly extract the base files from Costume Quest for the PC. Problem is they come out in a format I'm not sure about. Can anyone have a look at them? They seem standard enough as the textures are plain DDS files. However the models elude my perception as usual.

Hope it works out right...

Legend of Spyro Sprite Request

Hello, it's that hideous lime-green talking horse again!

If there is anyone who can rip sprites from mobile phone games, then would you be so kind as to rip Cynder's sprites from the mobile version of The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon? Seeing as Spyro's sprites were already ripped from that game.

That is all. Wink

Can Someone help me understand these tiles? (references provided)

I recently have been creating sprites for world objects like trees...rocks....boats....etc but I have long since been plagued by creating worlds that are under detailed, flat, and weak in concept. I come here because these forums have been my main source of support and cause of growth up until now.

I am trying to build a world in the perspective of a Zelda game, but try to supply sufficiently more detail and bring the world to life while still keeping things simple.

I have looked far and wide for some inspiration...I liked aspects of Midora (such as the 32x32 tiles), and then some of artists I found on other sites(the worlds they created that had overgrowth tall trees...seasons...just simple changing to the environment)...For a long while I thought to get results I would have to dish out money for a contract artist to realize even conceptually similar looking stuff to what I wanted to have, but I decided that gaining the ability to realize the pieces myself is what I really wanted. My progress is currently show in my last post HERE

Though I'm proud of the things I've made thus far I have yet to even vaguely create any tiles to match.

I have been working on the concept of a better 2d game experience by allowing for 90 degree camera rotations which allows worlds to develop without the problem of vision obstruction:
This was an early test using Minish Cap tiles; I still want more refinement on the concept, but for now these simple goals suffice.

Now here are the references I have found and a few reasons I like them:
This one feels like there isn't a grid and the trees are shown to have broken in a natural manner or been cut into stumps

This piece by the same artist have a brilliant grasp on the perspective I am going for, and how it should show and conceal certain details in the world (this gives a great use for the camera rotation to allow the player to explore some more details)

This piece though incomplete I thing perfectly captures the feel of how I want my base world to look before it is given tall grass...rocks...cloud shadows....wear and tear....etc Joseph Silverman has been a huge inspiration for solidifying my choice style

This is the image I have boiled down to be my absolute ideal style...this would be awesome if I could actually figure out the steps to creating this style, and apply it to have the height and edges of a Legend of zelda game

I have some limitations to take into consideration that are very key to accomplishing the world I want
1. each material type (IE dirt, grass, water, sand, etc) must be independent of each other aka have their own spritesheets
2. each material should be able to be placed next to each other and create a readable edge (difficult but do-able through defining which material shows over the other)
3. some materials will be treated as an overlay exclusively and cannot exist on their own (grass goes over dirt....snow sits on the ground and is not the ground even if it covers a majority of it...etc)

I have thought through many concepts, that I know must be true for my outcome to be what I need it to be, but I need help in order to get started...I have seen many tutorials on tiling and spriting but none of them have come close to explaining this level of design and I find myself not making any progress no matter how many times I try. Please help me I look forward to your response, and I will post any and all progress I make here on this thread.
