The VGR Pokemon League

ORAS has given us back a wonderful new tool, Secret Bases! With these Bases you're able to design your own gym and post a QR code for others to visit. I remember us trying to do a League before, but I feel like this should go on a lot smoother than before. I've posted the rules from the first one with a couple of edits
If anyone has any suggestions feel free to say something.

Digistar's Submission Dump

So I drifted back to Digimon World Dawn/Dusk and I'm anticipating the possibility of finally getting the guest characters from the Legend Tamer Quest in their correct colors.  So in the meantime I'll share some of my little submissions for the site and hope they turn out good for you guys.

Expect other games in the future, possibly.

Golden Sun Dark Dawn style Icons

Greetings and Salutations!  Though I may be new here in The VG Resource Proper, I have made good use of the resources you guys have had to offer in the past.  I figure it's only right that I then share with you guys stuff I've made with said resources~  Now, keep in mind that this isn't going to be all I've made - I've lost quite a bit of data due to hard drive crashes, so I can only share stuff that was uploaded to image hosting sites before the appropriate crashes.  Still, what I do have, I'm willing to share, as well as what I'm calling the things associated with the sprites.

Note that only the stuff I personally have done will be shared - I use other assets too, but many of those were created by others for me.  Doesn't feel right to take credit for them.  Also note that I will provide a clean sprite if able, but for stuff made before my harddrive crashes, I'll post what I can find.

First thing's first - my reworked sprite sheets.  I don't take credit for ripping these, only cleaning them up and making them presentable.  You can find the actual work on the spriter's resource proper.
So, with that out of the way, here's the stuff I've personally done.

I still can't believe that I had to make icons for spells that had already existed before in the franchise...

Hello everyone,
Finally after doing researches I found a way to rip Fnaf sprites! Just follow the steps:
What you need:
-Texmod or uMod
-Fnaf 1 or 2
Steps for texmod users:
1. Open texmod and choose the big folder icon
2. Locate fnaf game
3. Go to "logging mode" and check the first three boxes
4. Select picture format "DDS recommended" and set the log key
5. Press "run" and you will be redirected to the game
6. Press - and + numkeys to browse the sprites and press the log key you selected to capture the sprites!
7. After you done that, go to the output file and you should see your sprites, that's it! Wink
Steps for uMod users:
1. Open up uMod
2. Click "Main" then enable global hook
3. Click "Start game through uMod"
4. Click OK and locate fnaf game and you will be redirected to the game
5. Make sure you check the first three boxes and set "Back", "Save" and "Next" buttons.
6. Locate where you want the sprites to be by pressing "Set save direction" and locate
7. Click the back and next button to browse the sprites, press save to capture textures! (PNG is recommended)
Now, have fun ripping fnaf sprites! Big Grin

Hello, I'm new here. I've been trying to put custom music in FF4: the Complete Collection but I'm having trouble extracting Pac1.bin.I've been trying to find a tool to extract Pac1.bin but I have had no luck finding a tool. I'm a complete noob when it comes to extracting games in general so a step by step process would be very appreciative Smile

Computer CD/DVD drive not reading disks properly???

Starting a few days ago, the CD/DVD drive on my laptop doesnt read disks as normal. I pop in a disk and close it and I wait until the loading icon on the mouse stops and when I double click the drive, it tells me it has no disk. If I make my pc sleep and then turn it on again, the CD loads properly as if nothing happened. I have to do this evertime I want to load a disk. I searched the the internet and tried everything I could and even tried a system restore but to no avail. Seriously. WTF is happening??? I didnt install any software for quite sometime. I remember the last time it worked properly is when I inserted a DVD movie and after watching it, shut it down. The next time I turned the pc on, as loading screen for windows was on, I took the disk out. Please help.

Son of a Glitch!

I've noticed that many games have glitches and that some of them can be repeated and are rather amusing. What glitches have you guys found? I remember quite some time ago as a kid that my cousins and I used to play Super Mario Bros. and there was this glitch where in world 1-2 near the end at the pipe as big mario, you jump on the pipe and without breaking the block at the very edge, you duck and jump backwards "into" it and it pushes you into the extra world selection area except it just barely shows you a single pipe. You jump into it and it sends you to world -1! That level is impossible to beat for some reason.

Recolor/Palette Swaps help

I'm currently in the idea stage of my Smash bros. fan game (I never heard that before) And I was thinking about the recolors. I'm asking if anyone has up to 10 recolor ideas for any character they would like to see in smash bros., or for a character that's in already. It can be in text forme, or in a picture, choose your poison.

Should you animate before coloring or color before animating?

Hello, I have finished the main pose for a sprite (basic) and wondered for some of you who have experience, do you recommend coloring before animating or the other way around?

I look forward to getting to know you all Smile

N64 Model Ripping - texture problem

Hi all,

I have followed these instructions for ripping a model (Cranky Kong from DK64) from Project 64 emulator:

http://www.zapotlanejo.info/Nintendopapercraftforum/viewtopic.php?p=1629#p1629

I then import everything into Blender and clean things up (delete redundant vertices, merge vertices, etc). Once this is all done, when I smooth the models, things look nice and good in solid shading. However, when I view the model in texture shading, Cranky's brown fur looks messed up (among other things). His fur makes his body look all blocky, even though the body looks smooth in solid shading mode.

I have tried many things to fix it, but I honestly cannot figure out how to do so.

Does anyone know how to get the model looking smooth in texture shading? I would very much appreciate your help.

Ripping Wii U Sprites

I'll try to keep this relatively short, I'm new to ripping sprites but I know my way around basic emulation software. I am trying to rip sprite off a Wii U game (Hyrule Warriors) and I have no idea where to start or if it's even possible to rip sprite off Wii U games. Any help would be much appreciated.

D3coded-The Combo Platformer

Hello there! I'm making a platformer game called D3coded, the goal is to have a fun levels, deep combat, and tons of customization. I posted my first demo a while back on the game maker forums and since then I've been reworking the code and redoing some animations. However I lost my motivation and my momentum and I'm hoping that posting here could help. This game is nowhere near done, the plan is to get the engine down then move on to the enemies and levels. I would greatly appreciate it if some of you guys could play the demo and give me some feedback on how to make it better. One more thing my first demo has more content then my second demo, this is strange but like I said before I'm redoing a lot of stuff in the game and I thought it would be best to get feedback while everything is up in the air.

Basics Mechanics
Controls(Custom Controls are available)
Drivers and Elemental Drivers (first demo only)
Beta Menu(Won't be in final game)
Some Screenshots
Here are the download links
First Demo
Second Demo <Newest One

Anway this post is kinda long so I'm going to wrap things up. I'm not a great pixel artist nor a great programmer but I hope that doesn't turn you away from the game. Thanks for reading all of that and I look forward to your feedback.

Miru's Interested in Modeling, guys

Inspired by some of my heroes in the 3D modeling industry (Especially Nibroc and his Sonic World project), I've decided to join the world of freely available models of your favorite characters! I hate it when people keep their precious Sonic 3D models to themselves, so i'll share mine to the world.

First up, here's my current project, a small one. It's a low-poly Blaze the Cat.

[Image: low_poly_blaze_wip_by_theautisticonenamedm-d8bvcgw.png]
I just have to work on fixing her paws and making a texture and rig for her. Then she'll be made available.

I also plan on doing Freedom Planet models as well.

First impression of the above user's avatar 2.0

It's back! If you aren't sure how this works, you basically post and comment what you think about/see in the avatar of the poster above you. Sounds fun, right?

Well, there's just one "rule" this time around: Please try to avoid posting in rapid succession (AKA posting after every other post, etc.), as that makes things kinda boring and people will run out of things to say about your avatar pretty quickly! Let's try to keep things interesting!

(However, an exception is if the thread hasn't seen much activity in a while and you want to revive it; that's A-OK so long as you weren't the last poster yourself Tongue)

Okay, have fun! Looking forward to what people have to say about mine. Smug

games you dislike that everyone likes and vice versa

we had this thread before, and its back just because it piqued my interest!

i sorta dont like super metroid because it feels like a slow game tbh. samus's controls like a rock and its hard to fight enemies with this sorta mobility. i always felt like zero mission was a better game, despite its shortness. it took what super metroid did right and fixed some problems as well.

i like sonic battle, even though some people ramble on it. i guess it could be for some of the art and ALL of the music (seriously, even i can admit its sorta weird at times). i find that this game has a lot of replay value and can be the equivalent of ssb on gba! you can even customize your own fighter, which makes the whole game a lot more interesting!
