Ripping Space Hulk

Some of you may be familiar with 1993's Space Hulk, by EA. You can find it on abandonware sites, I can't find any pay sites selling it.

I want to rip the sprites, and if possible, textures from the game. However, I'm not sure how to even begin.

I think I've found the graphic files, they are all .CHP files - a file type I can't find any useful info on.

Any suggestions as to how I could go about getting sprites from such an old game? Total, total noob here...
