Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion .3ds files

I've been willing to ask this over a year ago but I forgot to write a thread about it.  CN: PTE (3DS) uses .3ds files for their models but no matter what program or file conversion I use the file would not open at all or pop up an error.  I believe the file is suppose to open with 3DS Max flawlessly but it's not.  Is there a way to extract the model at all?

I hope there's a solution to this.
