Open up your task manager and go to the processes tab. Scroll down until you find Skype. Is it using a lot of CPU, even when it's just idling? 20+, 40+ as it were for me? There's a way to fix this. Uninstall Skype from your computer, then install a legacy version of 5.x. This brought the CPU usage close to 0 for me.
