Help Ripping Sonic Generations Death Egg model

$

Hi All,

I'm trying to rip the Death Egg model from Sky sanctuary and Deathegg Robot (intro) for eventual 3D Printing.

I have gotten as far as being able to extract .AR.00 files but I am now at a loss for how to track down this specific model.
From browsing these forums I have seen that several users have had experience with the sonic generations files and had hoped someone might be able to point me in the right direction.

The Death egg only appears in the intro to death egg robot and in the background of sky sanctuary as far as I am aware so I figured it would be in one of the sszXXX.ar.00 files (cant find files for D.E.R. boss). None of the file names have any reference to death egg so the next thing I plan to do is figure out how to open .model files (I'm sure I can find this info. Haven't looked yet) and go through each looking for it.

If anyone has any relevant info they could share I would appreciate it. I'm not quite dead ended yet but I figured Id ask anyway. Thanks in advance.

Puzzle & Dragons (Mobile)

Hey, guys. I know I haven't posted much on this forum yet but I figured this would be the best place to get help with my problem. I want to use the assets from Puzzle & Dragons and figured I'd just easily take them from the .apk. No biggie, right? Well turns out it's actually a big...uh..."biggie" because the sprites themselves aren't actually stored in the .apk; or at least not in the same form as most mobile games.

See most mobile games seem to have similar file structures with sprites generally being stored in the "res" folder. Unfortunately in the case of P&D that folder is filled with Twitter, Google+ and Facebook icons with not a single monster sprite to be found. A bit of Hex viewing via HxD, however, has lead me to one of two conclusions:

1). The Sprites are stored within' the .bin files in the assets folder. The .nam folder refrences most of these files by name implying that they're on the .apk.

or the more likely scenario:

2). When the game is first booted up there is a mandatory in-game download. At first I believed this to simply be a patch but this may very well be where the sprites are actually stored. The trouble is that I haven't been able to find these files.

It's also entirely possible that the sprites are located in the resources.arsc file but nothing I've seen seems to point to that conclusion. I know I'm not the only one having this problem as I can't find them anywhere online and even the two wikis for the game only have screenshots. It would be too tedious to remove the background of each sprite one by one so I'm hoping someone with more mobile knowledge will be able to lend a hand here. Of course, I'm certain the internet would appreciate the resources.

I don't think anybody remember me buuuuuuut I'm back. It's been 3 years since I posted something here on VGR (TSR) so I thought it's time to do so and show how much I have progressed in pixel art. I will dig up some old stuff from my time here and remake them...

Sooooo, hi everyone!

Castlevania: Seal of the Curse (Simon's Quest Remake)

This is what became of my Castlevania 1 remake.

I've got a teaser:

If you didn't notice, that is footage of the current Alpha, which is very early in this development period. I am aiming for a full game to be release for public Beta testing late this year or early next year. On the list of priorities, I'll probably get this done if I focus only on gameplay until I have a full game, and focus on touch ups later. Touch ups will include replacing sprites taken from other series.

Let me know what you think, and I'd appreciate criticism and suggestions.

I am trying to rip off the models from the Dance Dance Revolution - Mario Mix. What software should I use? I put the .bin file in BrawlBox (v0.76) I used, and that did not work.

Who is a bad enough dude to rip models from this game? I think it's overdue and I'd love to see what we can get from it.

LEGO Battles ripping

I am trying to rip LEGO Battles, and when done, LEGO Battles: Ninjago

I'm currently hard-ripping the first one, I tried some direct-ripping, but no luck getting the various tools to open files.
I can probably get everything through hard-ripping, it's just tedious and time-consuming, so I'd like to try direct/fast-ripping, if I can...

I also did a quick test of the second, and hard-ripping will be even more difficult than the previous, especially because some major changes happened between the two games. The map and tile viewers in Desmume, for me, are proving quite worthless on this game, because the pallets are entirely wrong. That is going to make nearly every major part of Battles: Ninjago much more difficult to rip than its predecessor.

Please help, I have looked at the tutorials, and still no luck.
I am new to ripping sprites from anything other than web games, particularly, flash.
Handheld and console games are quite different.
I only barely have learned enough to do some hard-ripping, and I'm sure I could improve on that at some point.

Anyways, for the first game, I can get by with hard-ripping.
The second one, I'm really not sure. It will be quite difficult without being able to rely on the map or tile viewers, especially when i get to ripping tiles!

But really, hard-ripping is tedious and error-prone

Trying to get back into pixel art after who knows how long it's been since started college back when I was using the username Diogalesu on here.

The goal for now is just to do a few fun sprites but eventually I'm going to start making some OC's

Rather than have a sprite from a video game I decided to try making a sprite based off one of the few cartoon shows that came out recently that I can watch and enjoy:

.gif   DipperPines.gif (Size: 4.58 KB / Downloads: 7)
So yeah, Gravity Falls based sprites.

Starting off with Dipper, the reason why I'm having him hold out his arm is because when I did a rough sketch I had him holding the journal that is basically one massive plot device throughout the first season of the show and going into the first half of season two. Trouble is I'm not exactly sure how I'm even approaching the journal itself based on the perspective it should be, in fact I'm pretty sure somehow I might be screwing up somewhere with the journal itself which I'm keeping as a separate sprite at the moment. So I guess I'd love to see some C+C with that part.

Also if there's anything else that I should take into consideration please by all means don't hesitate to mention it, because it's been quite some time since I last did any pixel art and I'm probably slightly rusty. So I'm going to be taking all comments and criticisms to help improve whatever I can.

EVENTUALLY I'll sprite Mable but for now I'd rather focus on this particular sprite first before anything else using the the medium.

.awb files

I'm trying to rip some sound files from a game. After extracting the cpk files I got myself some files in awb format.

I've looked on the internet pointing me to extract the file to several hca files which I can convert to wav. However for some reason I can't extract the awb files.

I've tried the utf_tab07b6_special, however it gave me an error saying cpk signature not found.
I've also tried quickbms, however it gave me a list of dat files. I don't know if I can rename these to hca and continue, but that doesn't sound possible.

So yeah I'm basically at lost of what I should do over here, I've tried every single things suggested on the internet and haven't found a solution yet. So any help would be appreciated.

So I've been trying to figure this out for a while with repeated searching, and I'm somewhat surprised no one else has tried to extract this game's models before. The problem is everything lies in one big archive, with a small same-named "loc" file with it. If someone could have a look, we can hopefully figure it out and well have some new content for TMR!

I need someone to tell me what vertices in hex look like

I'm trying to extract models and textures from Front Mission 4, an unencrypted PS2 game and due to my inexperience and inability to found detailed information have hit a brick wall- I have no idea what models, textures, and UVs "look" like within hexadecimal format.  While I'm pretty sure there is not a uniform format I need someone to tell me what I'm supposed to be looking for.

Sonic 06 Crisis City

Help please, I really need Crisis City from Sonic 06! "What do you need it for?" you may ask, well, I need it to create a stage for the game http://www.sonicworldfangame.com and I really want to port it because Crisis City, personally, was my fav stage. Do note though, I would very much like it if you made all 4 parts (boarding, grinding, parkour and mach speed(The Flame, Skyscraper, Tornado, Whirlwind)) in one piece please and if you do try your absolute best to make the transition as smooth as possible. I say that because I ported Planet Wisp and I can't get thorough the first 2 turns without loosing all my speed or in layman's terms, rough geometry will cause speed loss. ANYONE that can supply me with these model files will get 70% credit and the satisfaction of bring the best stage in gaming history to the best Sonic fangame ever made. One last thing, I would like the model file to be in .obj with a .mtl file if possible. If not, please turn it into a .3ds file or something that works with Cinema 4D. Thanks for your time and thanks in advance for your help. Smile

Need Tip on Ripping One Piece Treasure Cruise.

Hi,

I want to learn how to rip sprites from Android Games and I choose One Piece Treasure Cruise for my first project.

VR Resource doesn't have the sprites yet. Thought that if I able to rip something, I can contribute them to VR Resource too.

I've been reading around the forum for tips, but I could not find any proper guidelines.

I tried change the extension from APK to ZIP. I only saw these PNGs inside the "assets" folder.

Can anyone teach or point me the tutorials (if any)? Thanks.
