So a certain sock-wearing fireball advised me to draw over other people's pictures in order to improve my drawing skills, and I decided to do that, but on a pixel level.
I used this picture here:
http://picture-cdn.wheretoget.it/3yd58u-...p-tops.jpg
because I wanted to focus on the body/arms and not worry about the head or legs
legs are a lesser concern but you don't get very good results when you search for headless people.
anyways I reduced it to a pixelable size and did it over
[Image: f40cOPI.png]
and there is the result

Next up I am going to be pixeling over this handsome fellow: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_uBJ7fIWjqDQ/S7..._Trunk.jpg

Im not really sure if this is the right place to post these because I dont know how they can be critiqued, but I wanted to post them, and if anyone does have critiques or suggestions I am open to them.

Update: [Image: Nh1Y9xe.png]
There was probably more I could have done with this, but Im a bit burned out.

RK3's Sound Submissions - Part Two!

Hey folks! While my old sound thread got locked due to necro-posting about my Super Smash Bros. sounds, I have some great news regarding the Rush 2049 sound bites! After the 'N64 Sound Tool' got updated once more (thanks SubDrag), I am ready announce that this audio collection is finally complete! Observe:

San Francisco Rush 2049 - SFX and Voices (N64 & DC)
Almost all of the sounds are from the N64 version. For the voices however, I added a few from the DC version that weren't present in the N64 version. Cool

Enjoy! Wink

Perfect Dark Falcon 2 Model? (N64 version)

It's more or less to test if it's possible to get a weapon model from the game, since I want to fool around and see if it'd be possible to mod in in another FPS or something.

And no, I sadly don't have money in hand. If no requests are done, I'll probably just do it in my free time.

Some Critique, Please.

A while back, I posted a topic here to show off some 'good' sprites. They're pretty bad now, IMO, so I'm looking for some critique on my new sprites for a project I'm making. As of now, this base is what I need judgement on;

it's on a 'sprite timeline' for comparing purposes.

Also, if you know C++ or Dark GDK pm me, if you have time to teach the language.

I was hoping someone could rip these characters from one of the Crash Bandicoot games?
(Specifically Crash 2, Crash 3, Wrath of cortex and twinsanity)

Aku Aku
Coco
Crunch
Doctor Neo Cortex
Nina Cortex
Polar
Tawna

I have only seen Crash and Aku Aku models. Which is disappointing.

This one has no transparency because of it's AA

I will be posting more of my work as I make it, I do have a lot more pieces on my Blog over at Tumblr for those interested. Any remarks are welcome.

My game on ARGS

Hi.

Like a lot of people here, I always wanted to do my game. With no programming skills, and short of time, it was hard to get started. now I'm doing my first game with Arcade Game Studio, and finding it very fun to do.

The game is "As aventuas de Zé Baldinho" (The Adventures of Joe Bucket).

I'm doing all the graphics, and composing the tracks.

Actually I'm doing the stage 4.3, and planning to have a full stage 5 and final boss. The major problem is that I'm running out of actors (sprites, enemies and main character), so the work is getting complicate.

Here are a video of the game running:

Beta 0.5.0

Here you can download the last beta:

Feel free to comment and criticize. I'll try to do my best do answer all the questions and debate suggestions. I can read well in English, but my writing is very bad, sorry.

Hi guys! I'm FinalSmash. I'm new here. I have been using models from the models resource for a few months now, and I can't tell you how thankful I am to have this site to go to for models. I can't rip myself, mostly because Dolphin always crashes whenever I try to boot it using a ripping program. I use the models to make papercrafts. Papercraft is where you take a 3D model, edit it a bit, unfold it, and print the pieces out onto a sheet of paper, and glue them together, and you have a 3D model of your favorite video game characters! Well, see ya around!

The end of Japanese Whaling

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world...t/7104633/

After all those years of hunting whales for the sake of "science," it finally catches up to Japan. I didn't read the article fully, but it might suggest that there might be just a little more whaling; however, the good news is that Japan has agreed to use non-leathle means of studying the aquatic mammals.

Any thoughts on this?

What does it take?

I'm interested in learning how to make games. I've got a lot of ideas. I want to start out with 8-bit, then go to 16-bit, and the highest I want to go is N64. So, what does it take? What do I need to learn how to do? I'm trying to learn code from KhanAcademy, if that helps.

Activation and Other Emails

As I'm sure many of you have noticed, not a single email has gone out from either of our sites in over a month. We thought we had fixed the email problem on February 20 (and for the most part, we did) but apparently, shortly thereafter, the service that processed our outgoing mail crashed and we had no idea. Dazz texted me this morning saying that we needed to get this resolved and I said I had been thinking the same thing yesterday when the potential solution suddenly hit me.

I logged into the server, checked the status of the mail server, saw it was stopped, and restarted it. Within a couple of seconds, my phone had over 100 notifications of new mail - messages that had been queued but never sent over the last month. After sorting through the ones that weren't requests for help with activation, I have about 60 to go through between both sites to get peoples' accounts activated.

So, if you've recently registered, check your email - you may have gotten the activation link today in the flood of messages that went out. If you didn't, fear not - over the next day or two, I'll be going through the 60 or so requests I have in front of me now and manually activating accounts for those who have requested help. If you haven't done so yet and you still can't find or receive your activation email, contact me via the site's form and I'll get you taken care of.

Thank you for your patience and hopefully, this will once and for all end our mail server problems!

Chubby Cherub

Every time I think of Chubby Cherub's ugly graphics, I picture that hideous scene of him surrounded by half-eaten dogs.
—Sean Patrick Reiley, Phd.

He calls them ugly but I think they are cute, so I ripped them

this includes, to my knowledge, all of the sprites besides background objects from both the English Chubby Cherub, and Japanese Obake no Q-tarō: WanWan Panic

the player character and npc sprites were all redesigned due to the original source material being unfamiliar with westerners and the title and some other cosmetic things were changed but I don't know if that warrants separate categorization on the site

and I think I got the icons right but I dunno
