Hi!

I'm Topaz Light! I'm never really quite sure what to do with these introductory posts, but making them does seem the proper thing to do.

I'm an amateur game developer who also loves coming up with stories, characters, worlds, etc.! I do art (traditional and pixel, but sadly not digital due to a lack of equipment for it) on the side, as well; mainly just as a hobby!

I tend to really love, like... specifically the type of JRPG that games like mainline Dragon Quest, the first ten Final Fantasies, the MOTHER and Golden Sun trilogies, etc. are, but I also love things like... action platformers? Is that what genre Mega Man counts as? And whatever the heck genre people consider the mainline Zelda series to be. I don't know the exact dividing lines between a lot of these really specific genres, but I hope that gives a clear enough idea of what kinds of games I tend to gravitate towards, although I by no means like EXCLUSIVELY those games.

I've actually been using the main resource sites for years now, but this is the first time I actually signed up for an account.

That's... about all I can think of, but I look forward to checking the forums here out!

Model out of view in Blender

I ripped a scene using PCSX2's snapshot feature. After adjusting the model for distortions, it's absolutely nowhere in sight when imported in Blender. I know that the model file is not empty since I can properly view the model in Windows 10's 3D Viewer, so Blender must have placed the model in an area that is out of sight. How do I fix this?

Hello! I was hoping someone could help me out. I'm looking for the menu icons, as well as the map icons. All the icons from the top of inventories or shopping menus as well as the Nookphone apps, and the circle icons that are placed on the map. I'm also looking for the sprites/images for the new items added in 1.3. Thanks so much!

is there someone willing to help me on obtaining the sound files for Crash Mind Over Mutant? i've seen most crash games get ripped but this game didn't get the sounds dumped... all i'm wanting are the Coco files.

How do I convert Wii adpcm files to MP3 or WAV?

So there's this game on the Wii and I really like the soundtrack from it and the in-game music is available on YouTube but the Menu music is what I'm trying to rip which I can't find anywhere online.

I looked into the game files because I've ripped 1st party Wii games before and they're saved in .brstm files which I'm able to convert with BrawlBox, but after looking in the game files I found that all the music is saved in .adpcm files. 
If anyone knows how to convert Wii adpcm files please tell me I don't know if Wii adpcm files are the same as gamecube I don't think they are but tell me how I can rip the music from this game.

Cross Mod Compiling Issues

I believe this is the right place to ask for help.

When attempting build CrossMod on Visual Studio Community / Enterprise 2017, it gives an error stating “The call is ambiguous between the following methods or properties: ‘Task.Run(Action)’ and ‘Task.Run(Func<Task>)’, and I can’t run the program without building as there’s no executable anywhere in the files. I already have the required .NET and OpenGL versions. Hopefully I’m just missing something here.

Nintendo 3DS: HarmoKnight Character and Enemy models

Hello.

A friend of mine and I have been trying for quite a while to get the models of the main characters and enemies in Rythm Hunter: HarmoKnight. It's a small, 2014 3DS game developed by Game Freak, and the file architecture is pretty similar to that of the 3DS Pokémon games; that is, a root folder named a with subfolders numbered 0 through 3. Each of those subfolders has either more subfolders numbered 0 through 9, or files with the same numeration.

As far as I know, the process to get the files is the same as the other Pokémon games, and yet I'm still unable to find the models of the main characters and the enemies. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or if I'm just using the wrong tools (A GARC extractor for the numbered files, much like with Pokémon Sun/Moon/US/UM, and Ohana3DS to view the extracted files).

If anyone could help me, either by directly ripping and sharing the models and textures with me, or by simply directing me to which file (or tools) I should work with in order to get them myself, I'd be very thankful.

Salutations, all! I just figured I'd pop in here and give a little greeting before I go to see about a sprite sheet restoration on the TSR forums. ( and this one is gonna be a doozy... ooh boy... )

I've been visiting here often for all my sprite-based needs over the years ( whether it's Sonic-related or what have you ), but I never really got to know any of the folks here. Usually I'm here and gone in a matter of minutes. But this time I figured I'd pop in and give everyone a hearty hello!

I guess you could call me an indie game developer in training. I've been working on improving my skills over the years ( mainly being self-taught since %99.9 of these online video courses on YouTube and wherever still baffle me to this day ), and I'm glad to say that I'm seeing a lot of improvement as of late... although as you can probably guess by now, I'm no artist or sprite designer by any stretch, hence why I often show up here to get the assets I need.

Hey, maybe we'll get to know each other a little better as time goes on. But right now, I've gotta get back to work. Catch you real soon!

How to rip from Nintendo Switch games?

Hello. First of all, I want to say I'm really new to all this ripping stuff.

I'm looking to first rip Pokkén Tournament DX since it's lacking everything when it comes to the sprites. What tools do I need to rip the stuff from this and other Switch games, and how is it actually done? I don't have a rooted/homebrewed Switch, but I do have the xci file for Pokkén Tournament DX on my computer, and I guess the next thing to do is to extract it somehow I think? I really don't have any experience with this.

So if someone knows the tools needed (and maybe some tutorial too), please link them. Thanks.

Cosmo Sprite Sheet Restoration?

I've been working on an Sonic RPG game as of late, and part of the plot involves Cosmo the Seedrian from the Sonic X series. I've been looking for a sprite sheet of Cosmo that matches [These Sprite Sheets Here] from The Spriters Resource, but much to my dismay, I only found one, and it's in TERRIBLE condition.

The sprite sheet itself was on a website that was previously deleted, but somebody managed to recover it and upload it to Photobucket, which can be seen [Right Here]. But as you can no doubt see, it's quality took a crippling hit when all this happened. Not only are all the sprites shrunk down to unusable size, making them barely legible, but the image file itself cannot be scaled back to it's original size. I tried it, and it only made the sprites look even WORSE than they did before! [Just Look At This Comparison!] Tiny, muddy beyond belief, and Cosmo's expression is pretty much unreadable! This is unacceptable!

I hate to say it, but it's going to take some professional work to restore this sheet to usable condition. And if this can't happen, I may have to settle for using Cosmo sprites in the Sonic Advance style... which is just going to look out of place compared to all these HD sprites of the other characters.

If anyone can make this happen, let me know right away. Thanks in advance!

I'm attempting to use Ninja Ripper with the Windows version of Gurumin, but I get an error that reads "Steam must be running to play this game" when I attempt to do so. Does anyone know how to mitigate this?

I don't usually like to put up requests, but I was trying to extract these myself and I can't seem to get the OBB file from my own device any longer. I wanted to get the models of the three Team Leaders. Can anyone put those up sometime soon?

Where to find animation file?

When I download any model(i.e. Pearl in SP2 or Isabelle in ssbu) and import .fbx or .dae file, they come with both model and textures, but I cannot find any armarture animation file.

I'm still new to 3d software like Blender, so I'm just guessing I'm missing animation file which exists within FBX file... Or does the file not include the animation data??

I want to get armature animation data which apears in game, and I want to use them. I'm making all this up from scratch with reference videos, but it'd be good if there's any 3d file that included game 'Animation' file, too.
