Middens/Gingiva Ripping Project

Hey folks, Dunkelschwamm here.

Just wanted to make this post to "lay my claim" as it were on Middens and its sequel, Gingiva.  

I haven't made many threads since the advent of the on-site submitting system.  I'll be sure to update my progress of the dual project here.  This is a project that will likely take several days or even a couple weeks, and during such projects I often get a little paranoid that somebody else will start ripping and submitting sheets that I already have queued for submission.  

I'm sure that at least some of you good folks will attest that I am a reliable ripper for such a chaotic and massive project.  I like to think that over the years I've built up a portfolio of rips that can help inspire confidence that I will handle these rips with precision, care, and completion.

One of the main reasons I am posting this is that I want to submit all of the sprites for these games at one time, rather than the trickling system that I employed during my rips of the three Lisa games.  As such, while I will be keeping progress reports in this thread to keep everybody updated, I will only actually submit the sprites for each game when it is finished.  This way the sprites should only show up on one site update, and hey, maybe we can make another new record (seriously, these games have a lot of specific characters with full battle animations and overworld sprites, and will certainly be my largest rips yet).

If you have any questions, feedback, criticisms of this procedure, or specific requests, feel free to comment.  I assure you that none of you will be met with hostility and that I am always happy to hear the opinions and corrections of others.

With that out of the way, I will post my current progress (having only decompiled the games' resources on October 2nd ((yesterday as of posting))).

  1. Time Nomad (Player Character) fully ripped and sheeted
Gingiva Progress:
     No sheets compiled as of yet

Notes: I hope that none of this comes off as too pushy on my end, for having "laid claim" to these two games.  I am simply very enthusiastic about ripping these games and would hate for my projects to be interrupted because somebody else has begun submitting the sprites themselves.  This had happened a couple years ago when I was ripping PC First Person Shooters and I never really forgot the disappointment when my work had gone to waste, and these feelings of course could not be directed anywhere as nobody was at fault.  I wanted to include this explanation so that nobody gets the wrong idea and thinks that I'm being territorial.  I love you all and can't wait to make this contribution to the greatest and most comprehensive sprite database on the internet.

GBA Ripping Project: Avatar

Hello all, one thing that's struck me the most was the lack of sheets in The two Avatar games. My goal, as I used to play this game as a child, is to fully rip all of the sprites and other graphics out of them. I will first be diving into Avatar: The Burning Earth. Then, I will eventually go into The Last Airbender. Here's a current list of the sheets that are already submitted and added by everyone of the community:

Avatar: The Burning Earth

There is definitely more to come in the future. Any sheets put into the queue will be listed in bold until they are accepted/rejected. I can use all the help I can get in order to complete this. Making a birthday thread for Petie before it's too late. If you didn't already know, he does tons of stuff for the site.  Adding cool things, fixing junk, making sure the site isn't completely broken beyond repair. Relatively vital stuff that he does because he's pretty cool like that.

It's a pretty common format now, with blender/3ds max/maya able to open them (the main 3d modeling/animation softwares people use) natively. Just wondering.

You guys need more help with the approval process.

Two dudes isn't enough. You reeaally need to get more because the queue is just going to keep growing. I'm not saying I'm fit for the job though. I would probably be crap at it actually

Ripping tf2 models, this is my organization thread. There are hundreds of models in the game, so cosmetics will be split into multiple sections, like "hats" "outfits" and "misc" and weapons will be sorted by either class or slot. Not sure yet. Every time I submit a model for approval I will also post it here. I plan to rip the whole game, including maps. Clicking the icons below will redirect to the download page even before they get approved. Blue=accepted and red=pending

I'm just curious if anyone has ever heard of ROMs being dumped/leaked for these, or assets extracted?

I'd assume the answer is no, as I've googled many, many times, and not found anything useful.

Closest is finding the suppliers, but I haven't the money/space for the machines (or their parts) , and certainly don't have the slightest of skills/tools to try a rom-dump from the actual hardware!

Just curious, as their are three games in particular I'd like to maybe see rips from some day
(and maybe have playable personal copies. I actually know for fact the first one runs on Windows machines)

I am here to present the new project Naruto Wars Reborn who is gonna be created in the new dota2 reborn editor.

The project its gonna slowly start from october and its gonna be an adaptation of the war3 map NWU created by Muzk (Moba map)


We are looking to recruit a experienced animator who can animate in 3ds max or maya or something similar also we are looking to recruit anyone else who thinks that can contribute to our project and has the necessary skills to help our project.

So if you wanna join our team and project leave a comment below with what you can contribute or what are your particular skills.

We already begun the project and we slowly started to lay down the fundation and an animator could really help us to progress faster.

Hiya! It's been forever since I've made a thread, and that one thread had a total of one sprite that I never even finished, so I'm here to rectify that. Tons of my old art under the spoiler. You could give me C&C on this old stuff if you desperately want to, but I'm not likely going to go back to fix them.

Now for the REAL reason I wanted to make this thread, and something I am accepting C&C on:

Scruffy the Dog Man is ready to punch dudes. This is my first ever complex frame animation (my other animations up to this point have been really simple movements and transformations, like scrolling, rotating, etc), and I surprised myself with how well it came out for a first try. Curious as to what you all think about it.

I made some dk and dk.jr sprites based off their original arcade self's. Donkey Kong is modeled after the mario maker dk sprite. and dk.jr is just a simple copy and paste but made shorter. I am not really happy that the dk.jr i made is just a copy and paste so i might change it some time.

Hello, I've been surfing this site for quite some time. I figured I would join and share a few custom sprites I've come up with. I've been using screenshots to grab joes from GI Joe: The Atlantis Factor NES in addition to GI Joe: A Real American Hero. Here is a small sample of what I am working on, just so I can introduce myself Smile From Top Left: Hawk, Roadblock, Jinx, Rock&Roll, Grid Iron, Duke, Cover Girl, Blizzard, Storm Shadow and Wet Suit.

Two year old article I stumbled upon.   So this is the basis for Nintendo's games getting easier.

I can't help but lol in some regards.  The fact that they based this assessment on people who didn't read the whole manual that came with it, or never ran once.  Isn't the first thing anyone should do with a game, if they don't know the controls, is try the buttons and combinations of buttons and see what happens?

I can understand not knowing buttomless pits the first time around.  If you've never played Mario, but played something else where you can explore a world by going vertically as well, it would be a beginner's trap.  However, once you do learn you can't go down from dying the first time, you simply avoid doing it forever, lol.


EDIT:  Apparently site is satirical, so from this point the thread is just talking about the shift in difficulty of games in general.
