Crv Textures? | Animal Crossing New Horizons

So I checked out the models for Blathers and Rover (Thanks Ziella by the way) and I notice there are these textures called "Crv". I have to be honest; I've never come across textures like these before and have no idea how to apply them in the node editor in Blender. I know they are obtained from Alpha Channel on the Alb Texture so I figured they were some sort of alpha texture but I've had no joy figuring out how they work.

Anyone know? If you have not seen them for yourself, here's a link

What is this project exactly?


This project is where you get every sprite (image) from every spriter-resource sprite sheet from a game of your choice
and then once you get every single spriters-resource image of the chosen game you choose
then all the single images in proper folders
and then you put the proper folders in a .zip and then you upload the .zip here.



^ And if you want to you can show such a in an uploaded YouTube video
the .zip folder being download
and then the .zip folder being extracted
and then all the files in the extracted folder being scanned for viruses and other harmful stuff such as trojan horses to prove that there is no harmful stuff in both the .zip folder nor its extracted folder's contents.

Hello !

I see that there are a lot of Nintendo games models available, from pretty recent games too like Animal Crossing but I was surprised to not see anything related to Luigi's Mansion 3 while it released several months ago.
I was wondering if some people could upload some models to the website, I would really love to have the rigged portrait ghosts above all, they look awesome in that game  Smile

Need help with an old 2D Point-and-Click Game

Hello! I would like to rip the sprites, background images and sounds of an old less-known 90s game for Windows I really love. "Hansel and Gretel & The Enchanted Castle" is the title of the game made by the insolvent company TerraGlyph. It's a 2D Point-and-Click-Adventure. I tried some things with several ripping tools or memory dumps but got no success. I uploaded and ISO of the german version of the game. I'm pretty sure the sprites and sounds are contained in the HAG.TGR file that is on the CD. But I have no idea how to access these file. The game made for the WinG API. I hope someone could help me. I'm thankfull for any hint Smile

Hint: The game doesn't run really on Windows 10 (Windows 98 on VM would be perfect). If you want to run the game on Windows 10 have to add the HAG.WIN into the game folder which the installer placed on the folder "above" it.

Save only Saves Part of Sprite? VBA-M

I'm using VisualBoyAdvance-m on my Mac to extract the arena backgrounds from the WWF games for the GBA. When I go to "Map Viewer" I can see each frame of the background fine in a little preview box and can scroll it to see the entire thing but when I hit save it only saves the top left partition of the image. No matter what I do. It clearly knows about the entire image but won't save it?

PSX: Ripping and Transparency

Hello,

I've been using PSX-VRAM Viewer to experiment with tile ripping, but I've run into an issue I can't find information on.

If a game's tiles use RGB black in the tile interior, and the background color in PSX-VRAM is also black, is there any way to figure out what the original transparency was? 

So far I've managed to get by with tabbing between active emulation and screen shots to manually figure out some transparencies, but I'm down to an opaque overlay I have no ability to reference in-game.

Any good work around?

BOTW SPM Maps?

I'm currently attempting to replicate Breath of the Wild's shader inside of Blender to be used to make in-game-style renders or animations using Eevee. I've been somewhat successful in replicating the style, and I'd like to make it as accurate to the game as possible by using all of the available texture maps, but I'm having trouble figuring out what a specific image map is used for.

Every model I've downloaded so far has had 3 separate texture maps:

ALB
NRM
SPM

The ALB and NRM are obviously the albedo map and normal map respectively, but I'm confused as to what SPM stands for.

Some of these SPM maps have color, and tend to be a combination of magenta, green, and blue; however, some are instead simply grayscale and seemingly have shading data in them, and are slightly transparent.

Examples of these can be found in the base Link model that was ripped and posted here from the Wii U.

Any help I could get would be greatly appreciated!

Dead Rising Sound Files?

Would it be possible for someone to rip the sound files from Dead Rising one and post them? I was hoping to have the sound and voice files from it for a host of editing and streaming related projects, but I haven't been able to find any leads on it. It would be a huge help, and hopefully for the wizards of this plane, not a huge task.

P.S. I have no idea if this is the proper place for this post, so if Admins want to move it, please do.

Sprites from Bratz Rock Angelz (GBA)

I know, strange, but I wish the sprites from Bratz Rock Angelz on the gba were ripped and maybe sprites from the other bratz games (Bratz (PS1, GBA), Bratz Forever Diamond,z (GBA), Bratz Kidz (DS), etc.) but I mostly want the minigame sprites to be ripped.

Opening a pac file from Sonic Lost World (Wii U version)?

Hello ^^

I managed to extract the cpk files and get the pac files in Sonic Lost World's Wii U version.

The problem is that I can't extract the pac files themselves to get the models and textures.

I tried the pacpack.exe in the folders of sonicglvl-lostworld and libgens-sonicglvl, but it doesn't work. It cease to function.
What I did is drag and drop the file on pacpack.

It's the same when I try to open a pac.00 or a pac.01 file, using the same method as the pac file.

I tried to look for a solution, but I found nothing.

Can someone help me, please? ^^

Ripping Animal Crossing New Horizon's sound files.

Hi, I've been trying to rip Animal Crossing: New Horizons for a while now.

Following information by the user: "Username123"

in the original post of https://www.vg-resource.com/thread-36986.html ripping guide.

Many of the sounds are still un-ripped and I cannot find out how to extract .bars format, which should have every audio.


I also realized the game isn't in the sounds-resource.


AC:NH uses the .bwav format which you can play the audio with vgmstream


.bars has been used in Breath of the Wild & Mario Kart 8 Deluxe so this shouldn't be such a big deal right?

Not really! When using BarsViewer or BoTW-bars-extractor it crashes the program.

Due to Nintendo using .bwav not .bfwav which is completely different.

people found out how to mod audio in, but they don't know how to get the original audio.

If people would like to help with ripping the audio, I'll be updating the post with methods if people could help and contributing to ripping the game!

Ripping from Havok's Quantum3 engine?

I have this Wii .iso that I decompiled in Dolphin following Guaramonde's tutorial, but rather than finding .brres files, I instead found a bunch of .gcm and .gcs files, and a .wad file in a _sys folder. After fruitless searches for ways to decompile those file types, I decided to try looking into the game engine used for the game; the Quantum 3 engine by Havok. However, the only thing I could find on the engine at all was this one thread on Newgrounds talking about the engine and how good it is. Does anyone know how to rip from this engine, or anything about how the file types the engine uses?

The title of the game I'm trying to rip from is Ben 10: Protector of Earth, if that helps any.
