Hi there! I go by WillWare on the interwebs. Don't be alarmed by the thread title, it's a Unix thing.

In real life, I'm an undergraduate of Computer Science. On the internet, I make levels for video games with level editors. One day I hope the two intersect and I get to do professional level design - but for now, my only works of any real consequence are for the fangame Mari0 (in my sig), and for Pushmo.

I probably won't post much, but that doesn't mean I'm not here. I just don't have much to say and will mostly spend my time lurking. But I'd love to be a part of the community if you'll let me! Shy

Are you drunk? Do you feel like there's nowhere else to appropriately post? Welcome to the Drunk Thread, where you can post your drunk ramblings without fear!

So I've had a lot to drink tonight, and my friend I were playing Liar's Dice(look into Red Dead Redemption if you want more info on this) and I lost, so we walked down to our apartment complex's pool(there is implied risks to this) and dunked our heads into it, now he's passed out with delicious hamburger helper I've made and I'm watching through Bojack Horseman again. I might eat his bowl I made.
aw yissssssssssss
EDIT: Holy wow I'm drunk. Forza 5 and I'm driving pretttttttttttty good.

Gonna be absent for a while

Starting this Saturday (about Friday for those in the US) we'll be packing stuff to move into our new house. It's gonna take at least 2 weeks, but it could be a bit longer. I won't have an internet connection (except for maybe a couple of times every now and again) so I'll be absent during that time.

Uh yeah, that's pretty much all, just a heads up. Don't miss me too much Wink

[NSFW] Briganty Game Rip Assistance Needed

Okay, this is probably gonna be one of the most oldest, yet toughest files to rip/crack. I am about to convert the game files into a more readable/editable format. Problem is that I can't find the programs/applications to get the ripping going.

Here is the extracted files. Never mind the title or its content. What I wanted to know is if the character images are much fuller than in the game screen. That why I am making a 50% chance. If so, then I got some good characters rips despite the fact that old-skool games tend to cut off character portraits. If not, then I have to assume that only newer games took this hint seriously. Unfortunately, there won't be a old-skool aesthetic around.

Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force and Herbert's Revenge Ripping Project

This 2 games have a bunch of sprites, and they are hard to rip.
Mostly because I just can't find any in the games, only textures and models, which doesn't have to do with the actual game at all.
The only method that I found to work was the hard ripping one.

So, if you can, please help me with this. Its kind of a big project and I can't do it by myself. I managed to rip at least somethings, but its still nothing compared to what I want.

NOTE: The layers of this game are pretty damn weird and that could mean a bigger challenge.

I really want to get every MODEL from this game, so, if you can help me, I will start ripping stuff from this game.

Things I want to rip:
-The penguins (with their colors, accesories and everything).
-Famous penguins (if you find unused penguins, please tell me).
-Puffles (all 8 colors in the game).
-Other stuff (Snowballs, other creatures, mini game specific objects, etc).

Seriously, if someone wants to help me, please tell me...

NOTE: This game is NOT 2D sprites, is most of the time a 3D game.

Wario World Models

I'm trying to rip the models from Wario World, mainly wario himself and some of the characters like enemies and bosses for a hack but I don't know where the models are located. I'm looking at the games system properties through dolphin and it only has a specific set of files in these folders:

bgm
dll
gba
rsc
sfx

And a file called opening.bnr with nothing indicating any of these contain 3d models unless they're in a different format I don't know of like .REL and .RSC, any help or insight on this would be much appreciated. Smile

[WIP] Mine to the sky

Mine to the sky

Genre: Platformer
Developed with: HTML5 using ImpactJS

So I've been posting a few gifs of my current progress with this game in the lounge topic on here, thought it was about time I made a devlog post.

So mine to the sky starts out with an astronaut who sets out to study the largest planet ever found in his solar system. Once getting close to the planet, the planet's high force of gravity sucks his ship down into the planet so fast that his ship burrows itself miles underground. With his ship damaged and his life support being the only systems working, he builds small robots to go out and look for resources and missing parts of his ship, so that he may repair his ship and make it off of the planet.

The game is a reverse miner game. Your goal is to gather resources, items, and face other challenges to advance your ship upwards. The further up you go, the more ecosystems and environments you come across.

No game is the same either. The game implements and random generation level structure much like rogue legacy. Most blocks are destructible and allow for interesting ways of solving challenges and shaping your experience.

Every room in the game is designed much like any normal platformer, but with this destructible block aspect, each room becomes and opportunity for resource gathering for crafting new abilities and items.

As the design becomes more an more fleshed out I will post updates on here and on my twitter. http://www.twitter.com/codestargames

Here's a few of the gifs I've posted, as well as some concept art.

Guidelines for submitting adult content?

I'm ripping models from a game( Scarlet Blade ) and I've noticed a few of the names getting "( nsfw )" added to them. I am wondering, if from this point forth, should I add "( nsfw )" to the models with adult content?

Also, whilst on the subject, this game contains models with partial nudity. Should I add black rectangles to block out the partial nudity in the icon / display pic, or should I bypass said model completely?

PPSSPP has a Direct3D backend

So I've discovered that since some revisions ago, PPSSPP has a direc3D backend.
As such, it is possible to rip models from that emu, instead of using jpcsp.
You can even use ninja ripper.

I tested it with .hack//link and it rips the models in t-pose, though because of how the damn game is made, I need to kinda put together models together, because not even the official maxscript of ninja ripper helps to put them together correctly.

Still, I think this news might interest some of you.

Keep in mind though, that there might be bugs with various games on this dx9 renderer.
And I believe to rip anything with ninja ripper you need to enable Hardware Transform in emulator's option. Dunno about other tools, but they might need it too.

Ah, and once you get yourself the newest build of the emu from here:
http://buildbot.orphis.net/ppsspp/
And setup everything to work, then you need to go into ppsspp.ini and change this line:

GPUBackend = 0

to:

GPUBackend = 1

Hope that helps out somebody.
