Texture Remix (my image manipulation tool)

Remember that gift I promised everyone for Christmas? It's finally finished!

Texture Remix (Beta 1.0.0) - Feb. 16, 2015

This is Texture Remix, a tool I whipped up to help people convert compressed textures ripped from modern games. Most people here who have ripped or downloaded models from an Xbox, PS3, or modern PC game have no doubt seen shadowy transparent normal maps or technicolor images that look like they are important but can't be used.

This is where Texture Remix comes in. It allows you to re-map the color channels of an image without having to do crazy Photoshop magic. When you load an image (or images) into the tool, you have access to all four channels of the image. You can then map them in any fashion to a new image. You can also split the image into four separate channel images or combine multiple images together. Up to four different images can be generated at once. I've included tutorial images inside the archive to demonstrate how to use the tool.

Keep in mind, this is a beta version. This is my first Java program, and I had to (re)learn Java just to make it. There are some features I wanted to implement that I just couldn't pull off with my current skill level. I'm going to release the source code soon, and may even put it up on GitHub if people are interested.

If you are interested in helping me develop and improve this tool, please let me know, because otherwise it probably won't get any better than it currently is.

Ripping Models From Steam Games?

Is there any possible way to rip models via an injector like NinjaRipper from Steam Games? I'm aware of the methods of extracting from Source Games and Unreal Engine games, but at the moment I'm trying to rip the Death summon from Magicka: Wizard Wars as well as the Imps (It's a free game by the way), but haven't had any luck. Can someone let me know what I can do?

I want to improve my art skills beyond just doodles of different characters so I think my own thread is necessary. Here are some things I've been working on. These will most likely be pen/pencil sketches.

Since it's possible to rip from mobile games, is it possible for anyone to get some stuff from Looney Tunes Dash?

Like:

Character Models and Textures.
The Maps, The Icons, The Text Stuff.

Looney Tunes Dash is a really fun game, it's like one of those running games, but with actual cartoons characters. Smile

Here comes the n00b complaining about the banners not being centered!

But seriously, is there a reason they aren't centered to the page? I could help with the coding if that's the problem. Blank

Any SNES emulators with built in graphic editors?

$

For a while I've been looking around to see if there are any SNES emulators that have built-in graphics/map/tile viewers for the SNES much like how Visual Boy Advance can view GB, GBC, and GBA sprites/tiles while Emukon does the same for Master System and GG games.

I've been wanting to rip some stuff from the SNES Tetris games (Tetris 2, Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss, and Super Tetris 3) and there's just so much that the normal "screenshot everything" wouldn't be the most efficient way.

Also, YY-CHR, which is very useful for 8-Bit games, does not seem to work with later SNES titles.

Style for a MMX fan-game I'm currently planning. I personally want to try to shade it so it looks it could fit a Genesis environment. Specifically, Wily Wars style shading, but MMX Ex style sprites. However, are isn't my strong suit, so, yeah. So any help is greatly appreciated.

BFRES Ripper

Hello all! I'm coming to you all with an announcement!

You can now rip your BFRES models freely! Thanks to myself and RTB working on this script, we've got a working script for 3DS Max to import those Wii U BFRES models!

Download it right here: DOWNLOAD! (RTB's note: Or this version if there happen to be rigging problems.)

This only works on uncompressed, raw BFRES files. Decompiling them using LordNed's tool will make them useless due to the pointer system.

Bug wise, I know of there being possible errors when using this script on Max 2015. There are also some models from NSMBU that may have problems, but they're just models brought in from NSMB Wii.

Now onto the subject of textures. They are embedded into the BFRES files. RTB got a working BMS script and through some mangling with TwilightZoney and RTB, we have a batch program that gets everything to convert to dds through TexConv2 correctly.

You can download that package of stuff right here: [/url]DOWNLOAD! (RTB's note: Alternatively if you don't have WinRAR, you can use these two links instead.)

Usage is pretty simple: Run the BMS script and dump the gtx files from whatever BFRES file you want to dump from. Drop those gtx files into the Convert folder, run ConvertGTX.bat and the dds textures you want will be in the OutDDS and OutDDS_Lossless folders. (RTB's note: You'll want to check the former first, the latter is particularly for the normal maps / ATI2-format textures, and for some reason won't keep alpha channels.)

The output textures can't be opened in Photoshop with the plugins, but they read just fine in 3DS Max and Noesis.

That's pretty much it! Enjoy, use to your hearts content!

Special thanks to TGE for getting me started on this, and big thanks to RTB for aiding me. It wouldn't have been possible without him!

I've looked everywhere, and I just can't find the sound effects from this game. (I'm really surprised of all the titles out there, this one hasn't been done yet.) The only option I'm seeing here is to figure out how to rip them myself. I've tried several different programs from zohpars, and I just cannot get this down. Help, anyone?

Love must be unconditional and if not, then that is not a true love. Love that is truly unconditional offers forgiveness and grace to a friend that commits a grievance. Of course, love should not be considered as an advantage in one’s life. When a person continuously hurts you, you should not continue to open yourself to his/her. You should forgive them and treat them with grace, but not necessarily trust them fully. But love must always be unconditional. When you decide to love someone, you are not only offering them courtesy for the present, but you are also promising them forgiveness and grace in the future. True love always forgives you. Love is not just a simple word rather it is the essence of life. It gives a positive vibe and enormous energy in life. It has a superpower to bind two hearts forever. It can create a sweet smile on every face and also provides massive happiness in every life. A range of beautiful and striking Presents categorized as Valentine's Gifts for him and Valentine's Gifts for her are available on this day of love to show love and affection. Apart from the traditional Valentine Gifts, romantic breaks designed to re-kindle the fire of love and passion, are also available for couples. Send Valentine's Day Flowers to Hong Kong through any shopping store and bring a moment of joy to the lips of your dear ones and loved ones. When affection is in the house, the house is full. The way to admire anything is to realize that it may be lost so, do not let your emotion die and preserve it in your heart forever. Putting the other person first is essential to love. This means that you must care about the other person more than you care about yourself. When the other person needs something, you must be willing to give up what you need in order to fulfill their needs. You cannot show true love to someone while still putting your own desires above theirs. This does not mean that you should put yourself in harm’s way every time your friend wants a coffee from Starbucks. Love is also discerning. To love someone, you must recognize the difference between your friend’s true emotional and physical needs and their unnecessary desires. Love does not call you to make sacrifices of your own health in order to get that coffee to your friend at untimely hours. Nor does it require that you jump up at your friend’s every request. However, when your friend has a true need for your help emotionally or physically, you do need to fulfill that need out of love. You need to devote your absolute presence for talking and spending time with a friend who is emotionally hurt and needs your complete support. You need to be willing to give up everything, even your own life, when your friend is in physical danger. The only way to show love is to put the other person’s needs above your own. Valentine's Day Flowers Delivery in Hong Kong brings a golden opportunity to celebrate the day of love by same day delivery and make your loved ones cheerful.

Feedback for Indie Game Art

Hello. First time sharing any art here. I develop an indie RPG series (wondering if anyone will know which one from these screenshots) and I'm not a great pixel artist but I'm getting better. This is art for the second game in the series. I had the idea of actually posting my work here to see if I could get any suggestions on how to improve it.  I don't know what kind of feedback I'm looking for yet, just anything in general right now.

Here the entire image of the environment

Here is it up close, how it will look in the game.

I included some characters for reference. The blue background will be replaced by a parallax background I'm working on.

Thanks for all your input!

Fawful's HD Paper Mario Sprites

I have decided to take it upon myself to upscale the resolution of some Paper Mario series sheets to the max. Examples of my work are shown below with Count Bleck and Nastasia. I'm starting with Super Paper Mario because its characters are made up of simpler shapes and because it's my personal favorite game in the series.

I submitted Nastasia to the site, but it hasn't been accepted yet. If that one is accepted I'll submit Bleck and make a new category called "Bleck's minions" or "Bleck crew" since Nastasia really isn't a boss and doesn't exactly fit under any existing categories within the Custom/Edited Mario series section. Anyway stay tuned for more.
